AXDF Official Statement in response to Azimuth Biotech message

Author's note: this post is published while the Exposure series is still ongoing, since some parallel stories are happening in our 'real' timeline and we have some things mixed up now as a result. Oops. So, consider this message appearing shortly after the events of the Exposure story which may be long text-wise but happened in a short stretch of time.
Anti-Xeno Defence Force (AXDF) Investigation detachment jointly with AXDF Public Relations detachment have published a response to Azimuth Biotech announcement¹ regarding the recent actions of the AXDF pilot, name undisclosed for personal safety reasons.
“The situation around one of our pilots demands our immediate response. Said pilot, currently in rank of Flight Leader, participated in multiple anti-xeno defence operations, which resulted in saving the lives of more than fifteen thousand people. In addition, the AXDF group led by this pilot, that is now acting in role of a local defence for one of the refugee settlements affiliated to AXDF, is currently actively participating in the intensive training of the recruits both of AXDF and the local anti-xeno militia fleet, including responding to the distress signals in the nearby systems, strenghtening the abilities of humanity to defend against the Thargoid threat. Therefore, efforts of this person are entirely aimed at defending the humanity. The message, released recently by Azimuth Biotech corporation, included biased information, creating a negative image both of AXDF and the said pilot.”
Operations Leader George Douglas, superior officer of the involved pilot, conducted the detailed analysis of the video footage, received from the ship.
“Our pilot, who is also qualified in small infantry unit tactics, was taking part in a covert special operation, the ship was configured for infiltration tasks, with weapons deactivated and thermal emissions minimised, in order to approach the fleet carrier registered on the name of Marcus Diaz successfully without drawing fire of the defence turrets and carrier defence group. Thargoid threat wasn't present during the approach and docking. Pilot successfully carried out the operation, which resulted in assassination of Marcus Diaz and dispersing of the garrison of his troops present on the carrier. However, at the moment of the takeoff, the Thargoid presence was seen as overwhelming and their actions weren't threatening the civilian population, only the carrier and assigned troops, which were identified by our Investigation detachment as an active slavery group. Our pilot had no information on the arrival of Thargoid ships, being occupied by the operation. Direct engagement, considering the configuration of the ship, and the condition of the pilot who has been wounded in the left shoulder during the operation, could've resulted in pilot's death and the loss of the ship, with a high probability of such an outcome. Therefore, I consider the retreat completely justified in terms of combat tactics and, frankly speaking, common sense.”
AXDF Investigation detachment is currently processing the data package, retrieved by the pilot. Documentation was found on the same carrier, which belonged to Marcus Diaz, and delivered to the Investigation detachment immediately after the operation.
“The documentation from the carrier directly points at the actions of Marcus Diaz and his private paramilitary organisation. He was known as one of the powerful and prominent figures in the criminal circles, with his actions including founding and leading the large slavery ring and multiple assaults and raids on the civilian settlements and trading ships, along with a series of other various crimes, even the illegal human cloning. At the moment of the operation, the woman named Silvia Sharpe was held in captivity along with the said asset, which role and functions remain undisclosed for safety reasons, awaiting her forced transfer to the ship belonging to Azimuth Biotech against her will. Operation resulted in the destruction of the carrier, elimination of Marcus Diaz and more than a hundred of armed and highly-trained slavers, and freeing Silvia Sharpe successfully.
The cooperation between Azimuth Biotech and a slavery organisation should be considered illegal and, speaking plainly, vicious and inhumane. We are currently processing the data further, in order to find the proof of the said actions being also a war crime. Attacking AXDF ships, including the ship that participated in the operation, should be seen as an effort to decrease the effectiveness of humanity's ability to defend against the Thargoid threat.
Upon the full processing of the data, all discovered proofs and evidence will be disclosed, published and transferred to the Federal, Imperial and Alliance authorities for their official intervention, also to Aegis in order to assist with coordinating their actions, GalNet news channels and publicly known figures who have their share of influence in the public networks, including GalNet, to let more people know about crimes in which Azimuth Biotech is being actively involved.”
A comment from AXDF Public Relations detachment:
“Azimuth Biotech, mostly known for their unsuccessful Proteus Wave experiment that resulted in a drastic escalation of the Thargoid war and millions, if not billions of civilian casualties and forced evacuations, was also conducting human experimentations, with victims being forcibly transferred and operated on. Some of the victims were implanted with microchips that allowed Azimuth Biotech to influence their actions and emotional state remotely. The microchips also contained self-destruction failsafes, activation of which will lead to immediate death of the host. Most of the victims sustained severe psychological trauma. We also suspect that construction workers and engineers, involved in building of the Proteus Wave device, were also being held against their will, with their actions controlled, with physical and psychological punishment applied for disobedience. Cooperation between Azimuth Biotech and Marcus Diaz's slavery ring is another piece of disturbing news, yet completely unsurprising, considering their reputation and general course of actions. We highly recommend avoiding any business and cooperation with Azimuth Biotech.”
On this note, AXDF Investigation and Public Relations detachments conclude the statement, with actions of the AXDF pilot being seen completely justified and actions of Azimuth Biotech considered a crime against the single individual named Silvia Sharpe, as well as the fact of their cooperation with the now dismantled slavery organisation. Selfless actions of our pilot, who has been wounded during the operation, thwarted the criminal plans of Azimuth and directly led to the elimination of a crime lord and his slavery organisation. Even if they weren't a part of our pilot's main duties, nonetheless they helped to save the lives and freedom of multiple possible slavery victims.
