MADNESS! MADNESS AND STUPIDITY! So I have been kind of “off the grid” for the past 2 weeks, taking some time off to relax and here I come back to possibly the end of mankind! I just listened to the newest galnet reports and first thing I hear is, how the Alliance is allowing thargoid abductees back into the general population… does the Alliance actually WANT to end humanity!!?!?! Or are these people just infinitely stupid!?!?? Let me remind you all, concerning the thargoid situation, we are dealing with a civilization that is MILLIONS of years older than us! They have been traveling through witch-space long, LONG before the first apes on our planet were even capable of holding sticks to bash in each others skulls! How could anyone be so stupid as to think, 1 week, JUST ONE WEEK of quarantine is enough to detect all the things such advanced beings might have done to these abductees…? They might have manipulated them in ways we cannot even imagine… done things to them we might be incapable to comprehend even to imagine!!!! Yea it might sound strange coming from me, since I am actively conducting titan-rescue operations myself but my honest opinion on the matter has always been, NEVER to allow those people back into the general population! That might seem harsh but if we are to survive as as species… well no use rambling about it anymore, what’s done is done, no turning back now. The fact, that the Federation is not following through and keeping their returnees in quarantine, is of little consequence now. Our arbitrary political divisions are meaningless in the bigger picture of our survival as a species. If the returnees are indeed part of the thargoids plotting to eradicate us, we just lost lost the game! Because if that really was the reason for them allowing us to “rescue” those abductees, we just played right into their hand. Oh I’m sorry, did I just offend a bunch of rescue pilots, who honestly believed, their heroic rescue dives into the maelstroms were a great achievement of human ingenuity and bravery? Well sorry to burst your bubble but… NO! Just as much as the thargoids were not pushed back by our military, but retreated of their own accord, we did not free anybody from their clutches, but were ALLOWED to take some people back! Sure, it’s no easy feat to get abductees back from a titan. Every rescue attempt will have to overcome a whole series of static defenses and hunters will engage a rescue ship if spotted, but not much more than that. Do you really believe that’s the full extent of their capabilities? Do you really believe, they could not destroy each and every single ship that enters a maelstrom if they wanted to? If you do, then you are a fool! The defensive reactions of a titan towards any rescue mission is best compared to a humans efforts to defend against mosquitoes! We might put on some bug repellent and swat them when we feel a sting, but don’t really mind when they do get away. That’s what the thargoids are doing and I can think of only two explanations for this kind of behavior:
Best case scenario is exactly that: we are little more than mosquitoes to the thargoids. A bit annoying when some of us slip through their defenses but not really worth putting more effort into squishing us, since our actions are no real threat to their plans.
The alternative though… it’s an act. They WANT us to take these people back and only make it a bit of a challenge so it’s not that obvious to us. In that case, the returnees act as “carriers” for… something. Something that might be undetectable to us. Something that might not even affect the returnees themselves or any of us in our lifetime at all. Remember, the thargoid civilization is millions of years old and they have already survived at least 2 galactic wars! What we perceive of them being slow on strategic planing might just be them planning on a whole different timescale! It is very much possible they might have altered the returnees in a way that will not take effect for generations until it has spread among mankind as a whole…
Let’s all hope I’m right with my theory about the thargoids not really being out for blood but just curious about us. Because if I’m wrong… it’s game over now.
