Entry 41:
I doubt anyone is paying close attention to the Big Sister’s flight schedule but if there is someone out there bored enough to do so, they might have noticed we have moved away from the front lines for a few days now. The reason for that is, I have been finishing up a little side project, something I never really wanted to do but it had to be done after all: I built a dedicated combat-ship. Yea I know, this is probably a shock to those who know me but even my inherent peaceful nature has it’s limits. So far the only ship in my fleet that carried any considerable amount of weapons was my xeno-Python and I only upped it’s armament because the increased hunter activity forced me to. In it’s role as a blockade-runner it works perfectly fine so much so that I have been able to hold my own even against wings of 2 hunters and 2 scouts all at once. For an average human pirate ship however this specialized build is no match and right there is where the issue begins! From the very start of this conflict there have indeed been people despicable enough to actively target rescue and evac ships… people who are attacking pilots risking their lives along the front lines on humanitarian missions… people attempting to profit from preying on defenseless refugees and injured. And THAT is something that makes even my blood boil! So far I had no choice but to run from these most rotten pieces of human filth. That really kept grinding my gears until I finally made the decision to design, build an engineer a ship from scratch for the sole purpose to give these [insert creative and disgusting curse here] what they deserve!
The “Onryo” is my first serious attempt to constructing a ship solely for combat. It is a Krait Mk II, packing a rather unusual build, making use of both highly engineered human- and guardian tech, aswell as a fighter bay. I know, it’s not the most most efficient combat ship out there but I have tested it on several missions, both against pirates and in active combat zones and so far I have been able to hold my own every time, no problem. For my fighter I have recruited the young Miss. Kim out of my carrier crew. Sure, she is rather inexperienced and a bit… bold at times, but a quick learner and, most importantly, has the necessary killer-instinc for this kind of work! We made a great team during our test flights and I believe we are now ready to take the fight to the enemy!
However I don’t intent to go at this alone. Sure I can now take out my anger on that pirate scum one ship at a time, but if I really want to make an actual impact I need to think bigger. That’s why I will try to assemble an entire wing to go hunt down those bastards in larger numbers! I will contact my old buddies in the Fools squad that have quite some experiences in this line of work and maybe even reach out in the AI network. With any luck I can gather enough support to bring some serious pain to these pirate scum in the next few days…
