A Warning about Recent Thargoid Actions

So, it's...

Actually, maybe I shouldn't start off like I'm familiar, and introductions are in order. I'm Kasumi, or if you're so inclined, Kira by real name. I'm one of the only two people who exist that can 'listen' to the Thargoid hivemind, or that I know of at least... most of you probably have not actually heard of me, despite some situations revolving around me last year. And the few that might be reading this probably do know of me and will likely be reading this as a result, but even if it is only a handful of people I think I should put this out there anyway.

Like Seo, I fell unconscious two weeks ago when the Thargoids attempted to access my head for an unknown purpose, taking whatever information they could find on me and humans from it, as Titan Raijin came under attack. I'm not sure I can apologize for it given that I don't have any active control over the link, but when I awoke last week, I could tell something had changed about the noise, just as she did. They were now planning something. I think they still are. This led me to think about their recent actions.

And since Aegis often insisted I was equally important to their attempts at determining the Thargoids' motives, I figured I would share some of those thoughts I had, thanks to the insight provided to me by this connection to the hivemind. Though some of it is also her doing, as I've been quiet about this war for the last few months for... personal reasons.

So, what I was thinking. Those spires, right, you probably know how they've been retaking them for months now without any obvious necessity to it, even though they stopped reinforcing them and holding those things only hurts their overall position. I know Palin said they're resupplying the Titans, but I don't think that is their only purpose, otherwise they would not have been so willing to drop them when their offensive - seemingly - stalled. Instead, I believe they're using them to build up a fleet bigger than any that has been seen throughout this war in any single battle, even when they attacked Shinrarta1. Because those resources have to be going somewhere, beyond simply keeping a Titan operational or working at its highest capacity, and I doubt they so desperately need them back wherever their home is.

How do the Titans fit into this? Well, quite simply, the Thargoids have actually stopped trying to prevent their destruction, at the very least actively, and instead have been using their capabilities to build up as many ships as they can before they are destroyed by humans pushing back against the invasion force. Sending those fleets to lie in wait, ready for whenever they feel is the right moment to strike. And that moment, I feel that it might be soon2. I'm not sure exactly when, where it might occur, or if the last remaining Titan plays any role in it or not... but it is likely coming soon.

And it couldn't be more inopportune. Already, I've seen the signs that people are getting ready to write off - or already have written off - this war as won, as if the Thargoids are no longer going to be anybody's concern once the final Titan of these eight3 we've seen is destroyed. Both minor and major powers are getting ready to return to the things which they've been doing the better part of the last decade, only momentarily interrupted by the Titans - being at each other's throats, pretending nothing more than petty landgrabs and plays for power over various corners of the Bubble exist, or are important.

That is a mistake. The Thargoids are playing the long game, so to speak, and anybody that still has any involvement in this war, whether that is direct or external, will tell you that they are far from done, and so is this war. It is merely going into its next stage. Aegis has been issuing warnings about this for a few months now, but has anybody that matters actually listened to them?

I'm not sure. Maybe I just want to try raising some more awareness on it. Because Shinrarta was only the start. An attempt to determine what they would need to overwhelm a well-defended system. So, to anyone that is reading this...

Don't ignore Seo's message. We are not done.

[1] I mean, think about it. Is it not a sign to anybody when the Thargoids pull out a fleet of over a million ships out of their backsides to attack a fortified, important location in the core systems while they are down to two Titans, and one of them has been on the back foot for a few weeks by the point it occurred already? The one thing to take away from that is not that they suffered significant losses during the battle.

[2] Could you come to those conclusions without needing a link to the hivemind? Probably, yes, but I might not have begun thinking about it without it and knowing that the Thargoids now have knowledge of... basically, everything important there is to know about humans. Or enough to be sure of where they could strike to cause some serious damage, as opposed to chipping away at the edges. And maybe there was also some nudging from somebody else to do it... maybe more people will actually take it seriously with two of us saying the same thing.

[3] If there are more Titans out there - and I'm fairly sure of it - the Thargoids might at least be less inclined to bring them right to our space, now. But that doesn't mean it's a good thing, when they can just go wherever they like whenever and have one of those sitting at further distance to the Bubble where it'd be difficult to find but still useful to them to launch attacks into our space and have a closer location to return to for repairs and whatnot.
Do you like it?
