Location: Matet System, Pilots' Federation Space

Today marks the first chapter of my journey into the vast unknown. My training in the Matet system was a humbling experience. The Pilots’ Federation provided a structured yet challenging environment to sharpen my skills in basic piloting and system navigation. For someone like me, who has always dreamed of the stars but lacked the hands-on experience, these days were a trial by fire.

With nearly all my savings, I purchased a Mandalay-class vessel. It’s modest, but it’s mine. I’ve named her Ada Rogato, after a pioneering spirit from ancient Earth—a name befitting a ship that will carry me to the edges of the galaxy. Equipped with the essentials, she’s a blank canvas, awaiting the upgrades and adventures to come.

After Matet, I visited the neighboring systems within the Federation’s space. Each jump tested my growing skill with the FSS Scanner. While its functionality is impressive, I couldn’t help but feel the limitations of my current setup. Without a Detailed Surface Scanner, my ability to map planets and uncover their secrets feels incomplete. For now, I must accept this limitation and focus on building a foundation for the journey ahead.

Opportunity awaits in the Ngalinn system, where an old friend has extended a helping hand. The courier missions he offers may seem mundane to seasoned pilots, but for me, they are a chance to grow—both in skill and in resources. The credits I’ll earn will go toward upgrading Rogato, equipping her with the tools needed to venture beyond the well-mapped boundaries of human space.

I do not expect to gain everything in one swoop; this is only the beginning. For now, my focus is clear: learn, adapt, and prepare for the long road ahead. The galaxy is vast, and I am but a small presence within it. But every great journey starts with a single step—or in this case, a jump.
