A power play draws me back into the black.

The bubble approaches chaos and I hear the song of dark sirens calling me to the black. With tensions between the powers rising, Nova-space no longer feels calm and comfortable. Even amongst the Nova Navy Admiralty there is discord regarding who to support.
Denton Patreus has always been the boot upon the neck of Nova Imperium and the gun that shot Mordanticus from behind, even if it was at the behest of "Our Empress." It is an unpleasant reality that Patreus' fleet still occupies many of the most populated systems under the civilian economic control of Nova Paresa. Some of our pilots are pledged to Prateus out of the necessity to keep up appearances and protect loved ones.
I cannot support Denton Patreus given his history with Nova Imperium. Were it up to me I would see Patreus' fleet removed from Nova-space by force.
Aisling Duval is far too radical for the traditional sensibilities of those pilots who remain supporting Nova Paresa; she has no support among the Nova Navy pilots.
Under the Treaty of Paresa we have sworn fealty to The Empress, Arissa Lavigny-Duval, though few celebrate that or openly work towards her goals; her reach is rather weak in the systems controlled by Nova Paresa.
The pilots of Nova Navy are left with no good options on which power to support; Hadrian has abdicated his claim to the Empire for a chance at a peaceful quiet family life, and I don't begrudge him for that. I don't have any answers either, and so I will embrace the call of the sirens and sail into the black for a time.
