ELITE IS SPACE... and space is endless, so has Elite been from its very beginning in any regard: E.g., in very first Elite, when you galactic hyper-jumped out of the 8th galaxy, you reached the 1st galaxy again. Have you ever heard of "turning the 8 / the wheel"? You could also say "pushing the 8 over", what do you get? an 8 on its side, the symbol for infinity.
Just the same unlimited you have always been in what you are doing in this game. All your actions are solely in your hands, in your responsibility. And yes, you are confronted with nothing less than (at least galactic) "infinity", that is life without its limits created by always the same type of "human being", legitimated with religion, might (resulting e.g. from money), race-"theories", nationalistic delusion ... to name only a few. The inventors of this game are quite some "anarchists", don't you agree? :-) That is what has been making this game so special, hopefully always will be despite concessions, which had to be made for economic reasons. Of course, all shall be happy in their bubble as well ... Outside of those bubbles this game remains "paradise" for those who hold enough self-esteem, humanitarian values, resilience and serenity in themselves to cope with and enjoy
SPACE, which IS ELITE to me.
