You're not alone in space...

Running my second exobiology trip with Galileo (ASP-X) and Jumbo (SRV) I felt somewhat limited. At a break in a spatio port station, I was having a good fresh beer, good music, good feeling.
Then another CMDR and I discussed.
Obviously, discussion quickly focused around exploration, exobiology, and ships tuning, but not only.
I ? simple newbie. Him ? multi elite ranked... so well I had to listen and learn first.
Keys from that dicussion ? Practice, tune and engineer, engineer, and... oh yes engineer.
About tuning he gave me lot of advices. For engineering I was a bit lost at first sight.
I thought to this in the following few days and got one of the key : Galileo is too heavy ? too Limited ?
Just upgrade and engineer the stuff !
That means unlocking engineers first...
Also, I needed a better medium size ship for all this.
I initially wanted to upgrade Galileo as much as possible, but there were better options as this CMDR explained to me.
So, at a time, I got "Deep Blue", a Mandalay. So nervous, so manoeuvrable, so fast... so cool.
From the only engineer unlocked I upgraded FSD but then, even with capabilities I had never got in my hands before, I was locked going further.
I was REALLY needing engineers to be unlocked through fighting, or mining.
I feel Fighting boring. (just my opinion)
Did a bit with Corbie (Cobra MKIII), but well... not my cup of tea.
Had never tried mining.
I gave it a try with another ASP-X, called "Gridwin".
Was seduced... You fly free when knowing how to avoid pirates (sometime), you discover things as they come (sometime), you enjoy prospecting for the worst (loosing time ?. No, enjoying sight view ! : all those little erratics rocks here to hurt you... those feelings you find something when in fact there is nothing.....) and the best (... but no... look at that jewel by the end...).
Basically, mining was a not a so easy path to learn (this being said as a beginner).
Laser mining is easy but as we come to surface abrasion, depth or seismic charges, it's not that easy when you start from scratch.
But so rewarding !
Also, there is the trading and safety component.
Far more complex that it may seems...
CMDR (I will call him "CMDR Friend"), helped me all along the path, as we sustain contact.
Now, as exobiology gave me Billions of credits that are here to be used, even if it's very few, I have invested in "Gimli", a python, that "CMDR Friend" helped me to tune and advised me how to use.
So yep, definately, you're not alone in space !
Thanks to you my "CMDR Friend" !
Cheers,
