I have been given some leeway come the Thargoid invasion of Sol and neighboring systems. I don't think the chance to be openly invited into Federation space will be offered to me all too often; I suppose I'll take it for that reason too, beyond just helping out those in need. And contributing, however little, to the salvation of our true homeworld.

At the moment, I think it best that I attempt to climb the ranks of the Federation Navy while most are passive aggressive at worst. Otherwise, I suspect I'd be shot down at sight, or imprisoned. Once I am through with this, I doubt I'd be welcomed back. There are still quite a few dirty glances directed at me. The atmosphere here is too tense for my liking, but what can you expect? Could be my Imperial association and the fact that this is the primary star system of Jerome Archer, a Federation leader. Or maybe some people just really dislike Aisling Duval.

Thankfully, my youthful demeanor detracts from politics more often than otherwise. Most see me as a young girl simply going out and about, making her way in the universe. And they're right. That is what I am. And let them not forget that only until recently, I've merely considered joining a Power, if even that. There was a me before all of this, and deep down, that's who I'll always be.

I know. You are probably thinking that I should have been doing missions in some other Federation-based system. But my idea is that why would I want to strengthen Federation-aligned factions in territories that may one day be mine? At least here I know it will forever be Federation. There is little we can do to sway a home system of an opposing power, thus any resulting influence means nothing, and so we both benefit.

I like to get the hard part out of the way, so my navy rank within the Federation will be focused on first, and then I'll move onto the Alliance--though I am fairly certain that they don't have those. In that case, a slight bump in reputation shouldn't hurt. Of course, I'll be saving the best for last; the Empire.

My reason for such is simple, for with rank you have access to more things. I do so primarily to gain access to some savvy engineers, namely those who are locked behind naval rank and permit-locked systems, but hey, perhaps for completion's sake too.

I don't expect this to take too long, but I best not estimate prematurely. I have no idea how much reputation I actually gained from my earlier assistance to Sol. So far, they are offering me ranks like candy. I suspect that it is only a matter of time before they feel that I should do more odd jobs here and there. Or maybe they are just wanting to get rid of me as reasonably fast as they can.

They probably have a lot on their minds with all that is going on. As long as they respect me, I’ll give the same. They have my sympathies regardless. Earth is my home too.
