Entry 1: Reflections on Titan Cocijo
It’s been four days since 18 Dec 3310, the day we destroyed Titan Cocijo and marked the supposed end of the Second Thargoid War. The battle feels like a lifetime ago. I still remember the final moments—watching Cocijo’s meltdown cascade through its core, its massive form collapsing under the weight of humanity’s defiance.
Many celebrated the victory, but sitting here, I can’t help but wonder if this is truly the end or merely the calm before the storm.
Entry 2: The Present Mission
Now, I find myself in HIP 20567, sitting just outside the corpse of Titan Indra. The lifeless giant looms in the void, its eerie silence a stark contrast to the chaos it once wrought. After spending time exploring Thargoid surface sites, I’m preparing to run the same experiments that commanders conducted in 3303 when the first "unknown sites" were discovered.
The Thargoid Link, Sensor, and Probe are secured in my hold. I’ll begin testing their interactions, hoping to uncover something the early pioneers may have missed—or perhaps something new entirely. The spires remain a curiosity, their energy resonances unlike anything else. They feel like they’re waiting, pulsing with potential, a reminder that even in death, the Thargoids’ creations are not inert.
Entry 3: Next Steps
After completing these experiments, I’ll head to the anomaly in HIP 22460—the site of the Proteus Wave detonation. That place is a scar in human history, a reminder of both our ingenuity and our hubris. Whatever lingers there, I need to see it for myself.
The Thargoids have always been a step ahead, their actions calculated and deliberate. While Cocijo’s destruction gave humanity a fleeting sense of victory, I can’t shake the feeling that Indra’s corpse and the other Titans are part of something far greater.
For now, I press on. If humanity is to understand this enemy, it’s up to those of us in the black to find the answers. The void doesn’t offer them freely, but perhaps persistence will pay off.
End Log.
