We made it to Ronemar last night and are doing some recon. I've taken the down time as an opportunity to do some surface scanning and exo scanning - can't help myself I've still got the scientist gene in my blood. Plus this will allow me to make some extra credits that I'm sure is going to be needed at some point.

It sounds like the mission is a go for tonight, raiders are supposedly hitting the colony again tonight. Only difference is they don't know that we're going to be there waiting for them. This being my first mission with the phantoms I'm a little nervous - especially since the last time I was involved in a ground assault I was fighting for my life and freedom. But, both Zoe and D is going to be there with me so I'm sure instinct will take over and it'll be fine.

Oh and you'd never believe it but as I was jumping into Ronemar last night we were interdicted by a Thargoid! We were just cruising along in Hyperspace and all of a sudden every bell and whistle was going on, Verity was yelling about the FSD not operating correctly and then BAM we drop out of frameshift and everything went black. It was chaos! Eden was scrambling trying to get systems back up in engineering, Alix was yelling about needing to get scans of thargoid for research purposes and Carina was doing everything she could to keep everyone under control. All systems were only down for probably about 10 or 15 seconds, but holy crap that was a long 10-15 seconds! Because of how dark it was we never actually saw the Thargoid, but that sound it made it...one of the eeriest things I've ever heard. Pretty sure it scanned us too. Like I said we never clearly saw it, all we were able to catch as our systems came back online was a dark blur jumping out. The conflict may be over - but the Thargoids are definitely not gone. Neither Dimitrius or Zoe could believe me when I told them - had Carina and the other girls not been there to back my story up they may have thought that I was still suffering effects from being enslaved the last 4 years. I told them that I think it might be prudent to consider this as a warning that we need to make sure we're always prepared, because this is probably not the last we're going to hear from the space bugs.
Do you like it?
