The Ascent

The ELEUSINIAN INITIATIVE is an advanced-tech research institute committed to the progression of scientific inquiry and its capacity for establishing the vision of a greater future. Based in the high-tech system of IX, the Initiative operates several sites and facilities integral to the procurement of those ideals and in working with the Initiative you help secure the ascent to realization. Known to operate within multiple sectors of the IX system, the armed wing of the Initiative, BATTLEGROUP DIOMEDES, constitutes a professional, multi-disciplinary task-force, and has quickly proven its resolve in strengthening the prowess and reach of the Initiative. While DIOMEDES sustains the ongoing operations of the Initiative, they are primarily relied upon in serving to fulfill their corporate directive, which is to protect and preserve the Initiative and its assets. To combat the plague of organized crime and rampant piracy that has begun to envelop the region and restore order to a system plunged into a violent civil-war, the Sirius Corporation has taken the unprecedented step of sustaining the efforts of the Initiative in the hopes of returning the system to stability.

In order to sustain its intense firefight in the expanded campaign against anarchy and restoring order to a system engulfed in war, while also maintaining its primary corporate directive, Initiative has begun searching for qualified pilots to strengthen and expand its ranks. These range from running deep space operations to large-scale industrial mining and tactical wing operations. The Initiative is willing to develop talent to meet these personnel shortages. Join today and be the difference.

Industrial Mining Pilots: The tremendous natural wealth of IX is what sustains the large-scale production of modules and vessels found in the shipyards of IX. Now more than ever this strategic industry is necessary in providing the raw resources needed in preserving fleet integrity and ramping up production to meet growing demand. You alone fuel the stellar forge of industry.

Logistics Pilots: The forerunners of industry, securing the transport of data and goods from port to port - little is accomplished without the linkages you maintain. The Initiative needs pilots to maintain the industrial-complex of IX, from importing the raw minerals of Piriti or food-stuffs form Tauni, to the efficient contract running of data transfer.

Combat Pilots: The system is in need of both fighter pilots and combatant commanders. Open conflict now rages throughout IX while the threat of an interstellar force creeps ever closer from the frontier.

Harnessing the Heart of a Star

The resource wealth of IX is some of the most expansive known to inhabited space. From the remains of stellar matter, industry has harnessed the potential of the system’s vast mineral and metallic deposits and repurposed them into the ships and fleets that interconnect and maintain our quarter of the galaxy as we know it. The shipyards of IX are some of the most robust and industrious, with production at some at the highest qualities attainable and with the most abundant range of modules on offer at the monolithic Scully-Power Terminal, suspended far above the indomitable IX 3. And while the system does not boast of any naturally habitable terrestrial bodies, its minor population is amongst the more industrious of human space, both in terms of production and development, owed to the strong governing autonomy of the system itself.  Welcome to the system of IX: lighting the way with the heart of a Titan.

Envisioning the World of Tomorrow

The governing corporate board of IX has long defended the system’s autonomy against the region’s super-powers, allowing it to preserve the complex corporate environment needed for the system’s industry to prosper. Historically a holding of the Federation, the system would not have originated the industry it now possesses without the heavy capitalization of industry they afforded. The local mining corporations, already processing the raw resources in-system, eventually expanded into industrial scale production, eventually culminating into assembly as well, all within system. The Federation, needing a dockyard on the upper frontier of inhabited space for both the projection and maintenance of its fleet selected IX for its resource wealth and extant industry already in place. With the sophisticated industrial economy on overcharge, the system began venturing into other industries as well, growing tremendously wealthy. With the outbreak of war between the Empire and Federation at the opposite end of occupied space, the distant shipyards of IX proved too costly to maintain and with political exigencies deemphasizing the region’s strategic value, the Federation sold the system to the non-hostile Sirius Corporation, which maintains a presence to this day, if only nominal.

Sirius Backing

IX was one of the more notable acquisitions made by Sirius Corporation in their bid to expand their strategic portfolio. While significant for its advanced-tech economy, the system is exceptional for its sophisticated corporate environment and the advanced research facilities developed in-region. Despite possession of a relatively minor population, IX has been at the forefront of the technological frontier throughout recent history. It’s high-level of corporate autonomy and advanced military industry have long established IX as an invaluable asset, not just in expanding the bounds of technology, but also to those who control it.

The Federation, while still reliant on the productive capacity of IX in maintaining its current fleet obligations, nevertheless was seemingly forced by the imperative of reality to relinquish control. Being short on capital as it was, both monetary and social, the Federation was effectively unable to maintain territory so far from its core, particularly while engaged in a pressing war. It thus reached an arrangement with Sirius Corporation preserving both its access to the shipyards of IX, while also ensuring the autonomy of the system in its recognition of the Corporate Board of IX, which governs the system as a specialized exclusion zone, governing independently, but under the auspices of the backing Sirius Corporation.

The board consists of both Federally affiliated as well as non-aligned corporate entities, but is was from among the latter that the Eleusinian Initiative was agreed upon by both powers as taking up the mantle of the governing board, being that it would be insulated from either Federal or Sirius subversion and partial to the interests of IX’s autonomy.  That, and it already possessed a capable armed force at the ready.

The Eleusinian Initiative is an organization which has been steadfastly preparing for the coming of winter.. the moment when the unfettered progress of civilization will have spent its course and be forced to face the imperative of survival. For too long it has expended its energies inwardly, reducing and degrading its capability in its own struggles, while forgoing its place in the beyond, wholly fixated on its immediate preoccupations. This will be the penultimate moment preceding the collapse. And when the ebbing glow of the preceding epoch will have been finally extinguished, their will be need for the Initiative to reignite the fires long lost, and pave the ascent of the fallen.[/b]
