The Imperial Council Of Nobles and the ICON Squadron

The ICON Squadron is the Wing Division of the Imperial Council Of Nobles.  The Council's headquarters is located at Wells Gateway in the LP 583-82 system, at the core of ICON's controlled systems. An area known as the Vox Nobilis.

We are an Xbox based player group, and strong supporters of the Empire. We are at the service of Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval, and stand with Princess Aisling Duval against slavery. We are involved in all aspects of gameplay. However, we are very lore and BGS focused. We offer leadership roles for active and skill commander's, and mentoring for the greenest of pilots to enter the black. Regardless of your skill set or play style, ICON welcomes you.

The Imperial Council Of Nobles and ICON Squadron were organized due to the lack of any real power or meaning in Commanders obtaining rank among the powers.  ICON is meant to fill this void in gameplay and the lore of the Elite Universe.  Our motto is, "With the heart, or by the fist". If you're interested, please read on...

Feel free to contact us here on Inara, or visit us on the ICON Discord

Vox Nobilis (The voice of the Nobles)

A Kingdom divided

Members of the Imperial Senate, and even our beautiful Princes, Aisling Duval , often undermine our Empress working to further their own self-serving ambitions.  All this while the Empire faces direct action against itself by both the Federation and the Alliance.  There are also those among the Empire who do not perceive Empress Arissa Lavigny-Duval to be the rightful heir to the throne or sovereign ruler of the Empire.

Some claim the late Emperor Hengist Duval's son, Harold Duval, is the heir apparent to the Imperial throne.  Those who support Harold's heirship do so in rejection of his father having removed Harold from the line of succession.  They state Hengist's decree that Harold was not of sound mind is false, and that Harold's hedonistic lifestyle and branding as a feckless playboy is irrelevant.  Harold's supporters accuse elements of the Senate of having manipulated Hengist into removing Harold from the line of succession.   Suspicions abound amongst Harold's supporters, that Hengist's Chancellor and long-term friend, Senator Anders Blaine, may have been behind Hengist's debilitating illness and subsequent withdraw from the political arena.  This has been supported in the minds of many Imperial Citizens due to Senator Blaine's strong candidacy for the throne and the revelation of Senator Blaine's indirect connection to Emperor's Dawn. The fact that Hengist was eventually assassinated on his wedding day by Emperor's Dawn via Brendan Paul Darius, an aide to Senator Denton Patreus, only fuels Harold's supporters beliefs that it was elements of the Senate, Zemina Torval included, who wanted Hengist and Harold removed so as to clear a path to the throne.  The void of which would likely be seated by one of their own.

Others attest that Princes Aisling Duval, Harold's daughter, is the true and natural successor to Hengist Duval, due to her direct blood descent.  They maintain these assertions regardless of our Princesses own admission that she is the illegitimate biological daughter of her father, Harold Duval, Hengist's son.

Yet there are still others who point to Hadrian Augustus Duval, as being the rightful heir to the throne.   Hadrian's supporters state that Imperator Kaeso Mordanticus and the Imperial hardliner group Nova Imperium's claims that Hadrian had been genetically verified as being the lost grandson of Hengist has in fact been independently validated.  Hadrian's supporters consider the issue of Hengist having conceived Hadrian's father with an Imperial Slave as being inconsequential, due to Hengist having not been married.  Hadrian's supporters further assert that while Hadrian's father's identity and welfare remain unknown, Hadrian is the rightful heir.  Amongst this faction of Hadrian supporters is some strife, in that there are also those who seek to identify, and locate if possible, Hengist's yet unidentified son.  They say if Hengist's son is found to be alive and of sound mind then it is he, and not Hadrian, that is the rightful heir.

The Imperial Council Of Nobles directs it's efforts to balance these contentions towards the good of the Empire and Crown as a whole.

The Imperial Council Of Nobles publicly disputes rumors and other conspiracy theories hinting toward the Inner Circle Of Nobles as being an element of "The Club", Emperor's Dawn, "The Dark Wheel", Nova Imperium or any other rouge faction.  Her Majesty has articulated concerns, on at least one occasion when attending Court, as to why the council would utilize the emblem of the Griffin when it so similarly resembles the insignia of Independent factions.  The Imperial Council Of Nobles wishes to express it's total devotion to the Empire and to that of the Empress herself, while she holds the throne.  The Griffin insignia of ICON originates from the noble and legendary creature in Earth folklore who was known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions, such as our Empire and Crown.  Additionally the insignia pays reverence to the great Griffin Carrier Ships of old.  It has been reported by the Imperial Herald that both Empress ADL and Princess Aisling have met with members of the Senate on multiple occasions to discuss various rumors, conspiracies, and other concerns regarding the Imperial Council Of Nobles and the leadership of the Circle.  We say this...  There are other minor noble factions in the galaxy.  However, they are mainly star system specific and not united.  The Imperial Council Of Nobles is a force of the Empire and faction of the Imperial Court.  Our aim is to unite the Nobles of the Empire, who historically have held no real power or influence in mere title alone.  We do this in order to maintain dominance of the Empire, and legitimacy of the Crown, against any who would contend against the same.
