Welcome to Neon Frontier, a squadron for commanders who seek more than just the stars—they seek freedom, exploration, and a lore-driven experience in the vast galaxy. We are a casual, lore-focused squadron with a deep love for adventure, technology, and rebellion, but we keep things fun and low-pressure. This is a video game, and we are here for joy—not for work.Our squadron is sympathetic to the Alliance, respecting their vision for a free and cooperative galaxy, though we remain independent. While we’re not officially aligned, we will not take any hostile actions against the Alliance or its associated factions.
If you’re the kind of pilot who loves cyberpunk aesthetics, deep lore, and the freedom to carve your own path through the galaxy, then Neon Frontier is the place for you. We blend the rebellious energy of Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex with the expansive, unpredictable nature of Elite Dangerous, creating a space for those who see both the light of neon and the darkness of the void.

But always remember: We’re here to have fun, not to work. That’s why we don’t actively pursue BGS activities as a squadron. We do CGs individually and as a group within our squadron, but you don’t need to get involved if you don’t want to.
Who We’re Looking For
- Casual Pilots: This squadron is perfect for those who want to enjoy the game at their own pace, without strict commitments or constant communication. If you want to live your life on ED, feel free to do so! We are eagerly awaiting your stories.
- Lore Enthusiasts: Talking about stories, if you enjoy uncovering the secrets of the galaxy, from the Thargoids to the Guardians, you’ll find kindred spirits here. This includes roleplaying and writing great logbook entries.
- Cyberpunk Fans: If you love the genre, the novels and games, this is your place. We welcome chromeheads and chooms of all shapes and sizes.
- Linux Gamers & SteamDeck Fans: Not exclusively of course, but if you play on a Linux machine or via the Deck, this group might also be for you. And for the “Deckers”: we don't use Discord but the occasional Steam Chat, which is easier to use on the Deck. In-game chat is also great, but we respect each other's time and space.
- Non-native English speakers in Europe & Africa: we play mainly in UTC and CET and use English as a language of communication. But we hail from different countries and cultures, and for most of us, English is a second language. But we also welcome the Monolinguals (Brits, Americans, Aussies, Kiwis etc.) and other time zones as well!
- Respectful Combat: You can play open, solo or within our private group, and we don’t mind PvP, but: consensual, pre-arranged PvP only. No ganking, griefing, or harassment is tolerated. If complaints are raised against our members for violating this principle, we won’t hesitate from excluding them from the squadron.
Who We’re NOT Looking For
- Bigots: This squadron is LGBTQIA+ friendly and has a strict no harassment policy. Sexists and racists can jump into Sag A* and we gladly give them a push. Simple as that.
- People interested in making as much in-game money as fast as possible: It’s all good to spend a weekend doing exobiology or platinum mining, we’ve all done that. And no one is against helping out a newbie. But this Squadron is not about how to get your Fleet Carrier fast.
We Require
- Inara.cz account: This is really the only requirement, for processing your application we need to be able to have a look at your profile (make it public when applying). Also, please write up a bit about your character in-game, a short biography. Nothing fancy, but so that we understand who you want to be, in-game and maybe in our squadron.
