The Rules

BLOODBOUND HARVEST RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Bloodbound Harvest is a mercenary wing as part of a parent minor faction, New Republic. Seeing as how our members represent the interests of the squadron as well as New Republic itself we are held to some of its rules. However we do not hold our members to strict guidelines, yet more ask them to adhere to common sense and decency. What few rules we do have set are displayed as follows:

RULE 1

Members of Bloodbound Harvest are not to engage in activities that will cause harm to or compromise the status of the New Republic faction in Draguan Nu. We are tied directly to this faction and therefore do not want to shoot ourselves in the feet. On the other side of the coin individual members are allowed to help allied players and supported factions as well as pursue individual interests. The only restriction that applies is no member may assist another player in any activities that might compromise or otherwise harm the status of New Republic.

RULE 2

Pilots are expected to treat one another with respect and use common decency when communicating with one another. We are a small group that relies on cohesion between individuals as we prefer to work as a team as often as possible. This does exclude normal trash talk between members on a friendly premise, as officers of the squadron do this for fun on a regular basis. If there is a disagreement that may escalate it is wise to seek a NEUTRAL mediator who is required to consider both sides of the argument in any decision made. Disagreements may also be settled through combat [refer to Rule 5].

RULE 3

Bloodbound Harvest members may be called back from individual missions in cases of an emergency, typically related to an abrupt negative change in status of New Republic or an event that might leave the faction or home base vulnerable to attack. If this is the case any pilots contacted for recall must do so and immediately return to Reightler Dock where they will receive further orders. If you are unable to follow this order please PM any officer of the squadron.

RULE 4

This rule only applies to pilots in Open sessions. We specifically forbid our personnel from harassing or destroying unarmed player ships. There is no honor in killing a pilot who is incapable of fighting back and we do not allow said weakness among our fleet. We do not care about the opinions of elitist players as they do not run nor have any hand in our operations or missions. Massacre missions in BGS are okay for members to undertake as long as none of their targets include unarmed player ships. However if some jackass decides to use their unarmed ship against you as a battering ram we will understandably make an exception; that guy had it coming.

RULE 5

Competition and dogfighting between members is allowed, assuming said competition takes place in a lawless system. This includes tryouts for new members as well, which can only be carried out by a single pilot who is Flight Leader rank or above. Both pilots enter into the competition on pre-determined premises. Both sides will be expected to honor the agreement, no matter the outcome so don't whine if you enter a competition and wind up having to rebuy your ship. Check beforehand to make sure those involved will be able to cover insurance costs. Both ships must be the same size class to ensure fair competition.

Rules Regarding Other Player Factions

In states of expansion that New Republic is experiencing, we will and have already begun to expand into other territories belonging to player factions. This can be an area of politically shaky ground, and it is not our policy to be belligerent in dealing with other player factions. In cases such as these we are not to try to take territory from other player factions, as we would be inviting war upon ourselves that we would rather not have.

The preferred option is to not operate in these areas altogether unless not on New Republic business, or to pursue trade deals and alliances that benefit both sides. If contacted by another player faction regarding Bloodbound Harvest and New Republic's activities in their system it is best to respond in a transparent manner to avoid conflict. Any player caught violating these rules threaten the sovereignty of not just other factions' territories but also that of New Republic, and will likely be kicked for breaking diplomatic alliances.

If there are any questions regarding these rules please PM any faction officer or member of Command, we are here to help.

MARITIME LAW CONSIDERING FLEET CARRIERS:

With the addition of fleet carriers, and with us hosting a few already in Draguan Nu, we will be dealing directly with other player factions. The presence of such vessels is to be noted and handled regarding certain criteria listed below:

IF FLEET CARRIER HOSTS NOTORIOUS VESSELS WITH OPEN MARKET:
Establish diplomatic contact, but it is imperative to gather intel as to which faction the vessel belongs to. Watch crime reports and only act if criminal activity is on our radar. If so send a cease and desist message. If not, allow them to operate freely within the system. Donate fuel and provide security if needed.

IF FLEET CARRIER HOSTS NOTOTIOUS VESSELS AND CLOSED MARKETS:

See above guidelines.

IF FLEET CARRIER DOES NOT HOST NOTORIOUS VESSELS AND OPEN MARKETS:

Establish diplomatic contact, then proceed to gather Intel on the owner and the faction. In these instances the crime reports do not need as much attention. Donate fuel and provide security if needed. Allow free operations within the system. This also applied to fleet carriers that do not host notorious vessels with a closed market.

IN THE EVENT THAT A PIRATE CARRIER ARRIVES:

These cases will be handled on an individual basis. Do NOT engage in combat until Command has been alerted to the situation. A response will be quickly deliberated and issued. If a crime in progress is witnessed by a pilot from the fleet carrier notify Command prior to combat engagement and request backup.
