After spending the night on a frozen world, TSV Journey teams finalise maintenance checks and confirm that the ship is in tip-top condition.

A swift departure is made as the Journey takes further steps into the unknown, departing to a system rumoured to contain Bacterium Verrata.

TSV Journey crew wrap up today's operations as EVA teams take a break and the ship runs a second set of maintenance checks.

The EVA team performed an outstanding job today and a total of 29 status updates were issued, with no incidents so far. 22 unique biological organisms were sampled, and with only 63 organisms left to sample, survey teams are reporting continued confidence with the TSV Journey's performance.

Operations are expected to resume tomorrow, but for now, EVA teams take one last look at this frozen world before embarking the ship for a well-deserved rest.

A long journey to the Praea Euq RF-T B5-0 system concludes, allowing survey teams to arrive at an argon-rich ice world to sample Bacterium Vesicula amongst fields of previously discovered Fonticulua Campestris.

Bacterium Vesicula is characterised by tight loops forming along the ground. This bacteria uses photosynthesis to convert sunlight into energy, but requires an argon-based atmosphere to survive.

Prior to departing the Synuefe NL-N C23-4 system, many of the TSV Journey crew request the Captain to detour to an in-system Guardian site.

Against better judgement, the request is accepted, and the TSV Journey approaches an ancient Guardian ruins. Although this site has already been discovered and investigated, it still remains active. Security teams issue warnings that the site is guarded by ancient drones that still activate in the presence of trespassers.

TSV EVA crew are ordered to wear armoured suits again in case of an attack, but thankfully no defences are triggered at the site.

Geologist Zara Lane is given an opportunity to utilise an extra exploration suit for locating Bacterium Cerbrus. With advice from exobiologists aboard the TSV Journey, she successfully locates her first full samples of Bacterium Cerbrus.

Bacterium Cerbrus appears as a brain-shaped mass, of which smaller cells appear to connect. This species uses photosynthesis to convert sunlight into energy, and thrives on planets with water and sulphur dioxide atmospheres.

The TSV Journey arrives at its destination, but survey teams opt to investigate detections of minor wreckage on the surface. The wreckage is located, but PANDORA specialists trigger an automated skimmer guard upon approach.

Security teams advise against violating the restricted area, and as such the TSV Journey vacates the area to continue its biological survey.

A short detour on the way to the destination system affords the survey team time to sample another two lifeforms - Bacterium Bullaris and Fonticulua Digitos.

Bacterium Bullaris is another species within the Bacterium genus, utilising a methane atmosphere to survive. Its pattern resembles linked bubbles or cobblestones. Other than that, this species is rather unremarkable, using chemosynthetic processes to survive.

Fonticulua Digitos behaves very similar to other types of Fonticulua, but instead sprouts a cluster of cylindrical tubes straight out of the ice. Also using methane to survive, this species is thought to survive off a mixture of chemosynthetic and photosynthetic processes, but generally favours chemosynthesis.

The target specimen proves harder to track down than usual - so TSV survey teams resort to aerial scouting. A suitable landing spot is identified in a massive crater, and within a few minutes, AECU Exobiologist Tori locates the last sample of Bacterium Alcyoneum.

This bacteria arranges itself in an intricate maze-like shape, and favours ammonia atmospheres as well as living in sunlight. It is unknown why this bacterium is so scarce, but it is suspected that the lack of other nearby biological life prevents beneficial symbiotic links, allowing only few bacterial colonies to survive on this planet.

Another lifeform - Frutexa Flabellum - is discovered as well. This woody plant utilises photosynthesis to thrive, but interestingly enough, this specimen was only found in canyons and under ridges where light is minimal. Only some light reaches these organisms, meaning they must be very efficient to ensure they receive the energy they need.

After a while of searching, Bacterium Alcyoneum is discovered to exist on this planet, however it seems very rare and blends in with local geology well.

AECU Exobiologist May discovers Bacterium Tela on this planet. Despite it not being the target specimen, it is catalogued before the TSV Journey moves on.

Bacterium Tela is, like most bacterial colonies, functionally similar. It appears, however, as a type of web-like pattern on the ground with intricate detailing. This particular bacteria also uses geothermal heat to survive, and does so best near helium, iron, or silicate-based volcanic sites.

Brilliant views await our pioneers as they come across a rocky world tidally locked with a ringed brown dwarf star. The main star, as well as a blackhole, are visible from the surface. Two types of life are immediately discovered - Anemones and Brain Trees - one of which is believed to have a link to the now-extinct Guardian civilisation.

Luteolum Anemones in particular are found growing on this planet.. Absorbing light from the two nearby stars, this plant uses photosynthesis to survive. The organisms shell also allows it tolerate a variety of environmental conditions.

Roseum Brain Trees earned their name due to the brain-like growths on their branches, and their rose-like color. Absorbing minerals via subsurface roots, they also utilise photosynthesis to produce energy. These plants are believed to be linked to the ancient alien civilisation, the 'Guardians', as they were found most commonly in Guardian space.

The locations of Bacterium Omentum are swiftly found by Tori, and all samples are collected.

This bacteria uses geothermal heat from nearby volcanic sites and converts it to energy. Its growth pattern makes it appear as conjoined strands that span across the colony. Other than its visual distinction, most bacterium is comparatively basic, and thus also grows in small patches on the ground.

Ammonia magma is discovered near some bacterium sites, which confirms the thermosynthesis link. TSV survey teams prepare to leave this planet in search of the next type of bacterium.

Two new organic lifeforms are discovered in the surrounding area, both apart of two genera discovered previously.

Stratum Paleas is a species of Stratum that has thick overlapping 'vines', of which irregular growths occur on them. A large variety of colours are displayed by bands or streaks on the vine itself, and allow photosynthesis to occur.

Cactoida Lapis also shares many similarities across the board, but Lapis appears as a 'squished' growth. The surface is arranged almost like a grid, of which seed pods emerge out of in a cluster.

Two species discovered by Luna fulfil more genetic entries, totalling to 16 global samples collected.

Tussock Cultro is distinguished by its tall sharp reeds that can reach two metres. Narrow markings along the reeds characterise this species, but it is relatively unremarkable and shares genus-wide similarities, such as using photosynthesis to generate energy for the plant.

Aleoida Laminiae is the final entry in the Aleoids category, and is distinguished by a mature pod in the centre, which can have a variety of different colors. The upturned leaves have various patterns, which function as precipitation redirectors and for photosynthesis.

The TSV Journey lands within an interesting crater - with signs of erosion that may suggest that this planet used to sustain water. Within the crater, TSV survey teams discover life previously catalogued by ground teams - Fungoida Stabitis and Concha Renibus. Although these have different colouration and likely vastly different genetics, survey teams opt to not perform duplicate scans and take primary interest in a newly discovered lifeform - Cactoida Cortexum.

These photosynthetic organisms adapted to the extreme conditions by reducing their ratio of surface area to volume. Due to this, the most sensitive tissues are protected from exposure. An insulating hydrophobic layer helps retain liquids and maintain a suitable temperature for the plant. The Cortexum species can reach over three metres in height, and have multiple growths which facilitate the distribution of seeds via sealed pods on the tips of the growths.
