We survey Frutexa Sponsae on this beautiful planet with a water atmosphere, just outside the Pleiades Nebula.
Frutexa Sponsae is a type of Frutexa that contains bright seed sacks atop its cluster of branches. These are used to spread seeds under action of wind and gravity, and tend to grow in rocky areas where the ground is less stable.

We continue our analysis after a short break, and locate Frutexa Metallicum prior to moving on from this system.
This species is named for the 'metallic shine' its small leaves have. Spherical spores grow along its upper branches, where a star-shaped opening increases germination for further reproduction.

Tori locates large forests of Tubus Sororibus after disembarking the ship, and soon full samples are returned to the ship.
Tubus is composed of rigid, hollow stalks, which - after maturing - are capped by a growth that flowers and develops seeds for further reproduction.

We arrive at our destination planet, only to realise that the TSV Journey is picking up no signs of the target specimen anywhere. We opt to survey another, more common type of life here - Tussock Ignis.
This species develops interwined leaves, which sprout narrow stems topped off with a crown of seed pods.

Tori acquires samples for Stratum Laminamus on this ammonia world, but also retrieves samples for Tubus Rosarium.
Stratum Laminamus appears almost like sedimentary rock, with layers upon layers stacked atop each-other. Their proto-leaves contain photosynthetic cells which allow them to absorb sunlight and convert it into energy.
Tubus Rosarium appears like wooden pots stacked ontop of each-other. This species, once mature, grows explosive seed pods on their outer layers, and can reach large heights like the rest of its genus.

After the scavengers are dealt with, Tori splits off from Luna and continues her search for Stratum Araneamus. In a nearby region, she locates the rock-like organism.
This species is remarked for looking like a starfish, but its texture and coloring can make it appear like a rock, similar to other types of Stratum. Atop the base of the stratum sits semi-translucent domes, which reveal the inner organisms.

While searching a large plain for Stratum Araneamus, Luna runs into a crash-site occupied by a criminal force. While she is armed, Luna risks injury as she lacks the necessary combat training. We request AECU Biologist, Tori May - who is closer than the Journey - to backup Luna at the crash-site.
Tori arrives at the site in her SRV and is immediately forced into a confrontation with the scavengers. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, Luna's assistance from afar and careful tactics allow our EVA teams to emerge victorious once again.

We take our time to diagnose a comms-array issue after we face a minor interdiction attempt in the Rabh system. Technicians presumed that the attacker tried to jam our communications, and despite the Journey evading the interdiction, it had the knock-on effect of hindering our ability to communicate with the OSIRIS network.
We continue sampling and soon regain connectivity back to the Solaris. In the mean-time, Luna has discovered Stratum Tectonicas. This particular species, if it were not for its coloration, would be very hard to spot as it appears very rock-like. The hard outer shell is covered in strings of brighter cells which are used for photosynthesis.

Our survey teams locate Stratum Excutitus, as well as another yet unseen life-form - Tubus Compagibus.
Stratum Excutitus appears as a 'glob' on a planet's surface. These often have a mixture of different hues, with a maze-like pattern on the surface of their proto-leaves.
Tubus Compagibus is an organism not yet seen by the survey team. Resembling 'palm trees', these complex organisms grow to large heights. Since these organisms almost always develop on tenous atmospheric planets, the lack of real weather does not require these towers to be very strong. Gravity is also a constraint here. This particular species sports a crown of leaves at the top.

We completely catalogue the entire Recepta genus - topping it off with genetic samples for Deltahedronix.
As evidenced by the name, this recepta species arranges itself in a deltahedron shape, which grow around the central organism to redirect geothermal heat onto it. The process of growth takes so long that many specimens have not completed their maturing stage yet.

We depart LHS 3746 after being unable to verify the location of Recepta Conditivus, and soon after arrive at Synuefe UW-Q B51-1.
This location is much more promising and offers us a multitude of diverse genetic samples for Recepta Conditivus. This particular species suspends itself above the ground, where the internal organism is incased in a spherical, translucent membrane. The inside of the membrane is filled with a fluid that protects the organism and provides the 'chemical soup' required for the organism's survival. Chemical exchange is facilitated actively via the membrane and passively through the roots.

Survey teams discover that this planet may house two types of Recepta, as the one they initially discover does not match the Conditivus specification, but rather the Umbrux species.
This species uses a latticed structure for protection, with a thin semi-transparent membrane stretches between the gaps of the structure, which allows photosynthesis to occur when sunlight penetrates through the gaps.

We take a quick detour to HIP 12099 1 B to pay our respects at the crash-site of the famed CMDR John Jameson.
Commander Jameson was one of the famed members of the Jameson family, and was responsible for deployment of the Mycoid bioweapon - manufactured by the Intergalactic Naval Reserve Arm - which decisively ended the first Thargoid war.
Logs recovered from the crashed Cobra MK3 indicate that Jameson's ship was sabotaged by the INRA to avoid him returning - as deployment of the mycoid virus was effectively committing genocide against Thargoid forces. Jameson also experienced the second ever encounter of a Thargoid mothership - but no salvageable data of it was ever retrieved from his ship.

Luna makes a dangerous climb up a steep mountain - in order to conduct longer range reconnaissance for suitable areas that might contain the target specimen. Our safety advisor iterates repeatedly that - should Luna lose her footing - the fall could seriously injure or kill her.
Her recon comes in handy as she identifies a deep ravine that may contain Fungoida Bullarum. Her suspicions are correct, and she retrieves all three samples. Like other types of Fungoida, this species uses wind dispersal as well to distribute its spores. The clusters of spherical growths along its primary stalk facilitate this.
Once the sampling is complete, the TSV Journey decides to make its stop here - allowing the crew time to rest.

While most Fumerola species favour a certain type of volcanism, Extremus is arbitrary - an exception within the genus. There is not yet a way to link which volcanism is most preferable to Fumerola Extremus. They also appear bioluminescent, with colorful, smaller fronds stretching outwards from a vertical stalk.

Like other types of Osseus, this species creates incredibly complex folds increasing its surface area to volume ratio. This creates a suitable environment for chemosynthesis on its catalytic surface.
