03 Archive: Nyoru

The second Federal democracy conquered by PCA, Nyoru is a desirable high tech system that includes a tech broker. Our campaign here built on the story of Smethells 56, and progressed alongside our work in SPOCS 900. With it complete, PCA now controls all stations in systems it governs.

PCA expanding again
Miso

Only a few short months after its total conquest of Smethells 56, the Praetorian Curiate Assembly is expanding again, with the Kojin administrative team tapped to open the Assembly's next office.

Speaking alongside the assembled team in Harness Depot, Duke Alden Rowe remarked:

"The coming weeks will be a time of great opportunity and of great risk. While I am not yet ready to announce our destination to the public, trust that my good governance will go where it is needed most."

PCA purchases Wen Chayuse Advanced Services holdings in Nyoru
Miso

The Praetorian Curiate Assembly of SPOCS 900 announced today that they have completed their acquisition of Wen Chayuse Advanced Services' former offices in Nyoru.

An excerpt from Patrician Kiera Bishop's interview with Nyoru Financial Times follows.

"As you may know, Wen Chayuse Advanced Services have faced several quarters of losses and have been unable to hold durable positions in Babal, Maeve, Pell, Nyoru, and of course, Wen Chayuse. WCAS approached us some weeks ago with an offer to sell their holdings in Nyoru. In the interests of broadening the Empire and supporting the operations of this multi-system Imperial corporation, PCA was pleased to accept their offer.

We regret our late announcement, but some discretion is always advisable — this is business, after all."

Explosive growth by PCA in Nyoru threatens Federation
Miso

Months of mismanagement by the Democrats of Nyoru have left them challenged in their home system, with the Praetorian Curiate Assembly of SPOCS 900 amassing considerable influence and corporate support less than four days after advancing acquiring the holdings of also-embattled Wen Chayuse Advanced Services.

While the Democrats have governed Nyoru for many years and have a monopoly on the system's spaceports, their government has been unstable for months, with operations in nearby systems forcing the Federal faction into constant quagmires. The Praetorian Curiate Assembly, led by Duke Alden Rowe and backed by Senator Denton Patreus, has been methodically amassing assets in the region since January.

The Assembly's meteoric rise led to an impromptu press conference by Democrats representative Michelle Sorensen, who said that "PCA's presence in this system, the chaos we faced, and their rapid growth here are not accidental and are not benign. Their repeated challenges to Federal authority in this region will not go unchecked."

With Nyoru's citizens questioning their future in the Federation, analysts are anticipating that Nyoru will rapidly fall to Rowe, as did Smethells 56 only months ago.

Democrats and feudalists at war
Miso

Competing business interests between the Empire and the Federation clashed today, with the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and Democrats of Nyoru coming to blows.

In an early morning announcement to colonists at Foster Relay, Democrats representative Michelle Sorensen justified her governments aggression:

"The rapid advance of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, and their past victories in Smethells 56 and SPOCS 900 against Federally-aligned legal governments, has left us no choice but to bring an end to PCA interests in our system. We refuse to let you be slaves."

In response, PCA representative Wreyn Kaira suggested that Sorensen's announcement did not come from Democrat headquarters on Bombelli Port due to "a strong upper hand for the Empire."

Nyoru war ends in Imperial victory
Miso

The Praetorian Curiate Assembly's rapid rise and resultant declaration of war levied by the Federal Democrats of Nyoru, culminated today in an evacuation of the Democrats from Bombelli Port, now Imperial-controlled. Bombelli Port, the historic capital of the Democrats of Nyoru and a major high tech production center in the region, joins the installations of Smethells 56 in the Assembly's portfolio of formerly-Federal holdings.

"We are pleased to take Bombelli Port and with it the system as holdings for the Emperor and Senator Patreus. Already production has been restored and trade is once again flowing. We trust that the economic disruption from this war will be short-lived," commented Patrician Kiera Bishop.

Reports are indicating the the Democrats' garrison on Bombelli Port has decamped to Evans Barracks. The Democrats of Nyoru's remaining naval assets have filled docks at both the Barracks and Foster Relay. Both installations remain held by DoM, far from the Praetorians in the Nyoru C subsystem.

Fresh fighting breaks out in Nyoru
Miso

Less than two weeks after the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's successful conquest of Nyoru, the Democrats have brought their control back into question.

"Prosperity reigned in Nyoru for a time. It is a shame that the Federation here could not allow for co-existence. Instead they have chosen to cut short our shared economic growth, putting the colonists of Foster Relay at risk in the process. I wonder if Michelle Sorensen would care to comment on voter reactions. I think not, as we are sure to win"

Foster Relay rises against Federation
Miso

Partisans at Foster Relay brought a swift end to the most recent conflict between the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and Democrats of Nyoru, ousting the Democrat garrison in the colony.

With the loss of their civilian captive voter base, Federal forces in system beat a swift retreat to Evans Barracks, their remaining stronghold in the system.

Appealing to Sol, Democrats representative Michelle Sorensen took a defiant tone, claiming that "these feudalist Imperials have brainwashed and stolen our citizens" and that "Rowe cannot be allowed to hold our systems."

Assembly representatives have not commented on possible operations to seize Evans Barracks.

PCA on the warpath in Nyoru?
Miso

The stability of Duke Alden Rowe's Assembly came back into question this week as reports suggested unrest in Nyoru.

Imperial interests in Nyoru faltered for years before the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's purchase of Wen Chayuse Advanced Services' holdings in the system. But despite rapid growth for Duke Rowe's feudalists in the system, total control has remained elusive, with the Duke instead entangled in a struggle to solidify his government's hold over SPOCS 900.

While the Assembly's control over SPOCS 900 appears to be total, with all of the system's ports in Imperial hands, issues with loyalty presented a late scandal that saw a leading Baronet appear on the region's most wanted lists after the destruction of multiple PCA-flagged vessels.

Despite assurances from Baronet Kaira that the matter had been resolved and that reform would prevent further occurences, reporting late Tuesday indicated that further Imperial defectors had been killed.

Pressed for comment after repeated delays, Patrician Kiera Bishop responded that "while Margred Minelli and Jean Selene Savére remain at large, we do not feel that Tuesday's incident in Nyoru is related to Minelli's independence movement. We find the focus on unfortunately necessary actions by Baronet Kaira disappointing. Instead, you might consider focusing on the Federation's continued efforts to destabilize a region that has clearly proven worse for their influence."

When asked to elaborate on the Assembly's plans to ensure stability, Patrician Bishop referred to her press conference with HR 7766 Gold Comms Senior Executive Eldridge Gates last week, adding that "Chandler may have had a point about Evans Barracks in Nyoru."

Evans Barracks falls to Rowe forces
Miso

Flaring tensions last week between the Imperial Praetorian Curiate Assembly and the Federal Democrats of Nyoru have ended with defeat for the Democrats, who lost their last remaining station in total defeat for the faction.

Despite concerns that the conflict, driven by accusations of false-flag attacks and "brainwashed and stolen citizens" would result in a strong Federal intervention in the region against Duke Alden Rowe, small skirmishes failed to threaten Bombelli Port and instead remained localized in the space over Evans Barracks.

With Evans Barracks, a major military installation for the high-tech system now under PCA control, Federal forces in HR 7766 led by Purple Major Limited will have to contend with the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and HR 7766 Gold Comms Co alone.

Democrats representative Michelle Sorenson, whose appeal to Sol in June clearly fell on deaf ears, must now be wondering when, and if, the Federation will again attempt to assert itself in a sector dominated by Senator Patreus, Senator Torval, and Duke Alden Rowe.
