09 Archive: HIP 101846

HIP 101846 is the most profitable control sphere in Senator Patreus' domain. It exploits SPOCS 900, our home system, and is an outstanding high tech economy. Arriving in HIP 101846 and taking total control of the system is an important achievement for us.

PCA furthers ties with Patreus with new expansion
Miso

Patrician Kiera Bishop of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly announced today another expansion for her government, with Praetorian Logistics Vessels stockpiling supplies in Kojin. While one of the Assembly's lower population systems, Patrician Bishop described Kojin in an earlier press conference as "well-positioned, with capable staff that understand how to run small operations, such as we initially run when we expand our Duke's interests."

Speaking on the expansion itself, Bishop noted that "all of the Assembly's newest offices have been opened in direct cooperation and consultation with Senator Patreus. We are committed to supporting his interests; even our new operations in Babal support those interests by fostering diplomatic ties with Dictator Yuri Grom. We will continue to expand throughout the Regira region, and anticipate opening offices in HIP 101846 tomorrow."

"While HIP 101846 is governed by an honorable Empire Group, both Duke Rowe and Senator Patreus agree that additional Imperial support in this strategically vital system would be worth while. We look forward to giving the clients of this system additional options."

Outbreak at Betancourt Base raises questions
Miso

An outbreak at Betancourt Base, recently held by HIP 101846 Labour and currently governed by Crimson Fortune, has focused the attention of Senator Denton Patreus' office and the Praetorian Curiate Assembly on the installation.

Commenting from Celsius Market, Baronet Wreyn Kaira explained that "While Betancourt is not well-trafficked by commanders serving Senator Patreus, traffic between HIP 101846 and Eotienses is high and strategically vital. This system is one of the most critical high tech centers in the Empire. Assembly leaders and the Patreus Planning have agreed that if Crimson Fortune cannot quickly end this outbreak, we will act to resolve it and ensure it is not repeated. We cannot afford the risk of this contagion spreading to Eotienses or SPOCS 900."

In response to Baronet Kaira's statement, Crimson Fortune offered the following: "We have only governed Betancourt for a short period. We inherited these life support deficiencies and are working to resolve them. We beg Senator Patreus and his Duke for patience."

Patreus and Rowe step in to end Betancourt outbreak
Miso

The Praetorian Curiate Assembly announced this evening armed operations against HIP 101846 Crimson Fortune, governors of Betancourt Base, which is suffering from a serious outbreak of an unknown origin. Imperial forces enforcing the quarantine of this independent installation have reportedly interdicted several contaminated vessels attempting to transit from Betancourt to Biesbroeck Dock, the logistics hub for Patreus Sentinels in this region.

Speaking on the Betancourt outbreak, Assembly Authority Lorena Sanford commented: "The possibility of disease spreading from Betancourt Base to other stations in this region, or even to Eotienses or SPOCS 900, is simply too high to ignore. We are not satisfied with Crimson Fortune's management of this; decontamination protocols are clearly not being followed. As both Duke Rowe and Senator Patreus consider the security of this system to be critical, we will be revoking Crimson Fortune's control of this station immediately."

Pressed on why their government was not handling this issue, HIP 101846 Empire Group Search and Rescue lead Maximo McCray explained that "our Empire Group is tied up in operations elsewhere. We appreciate Duke Alden Rowe's ability to handle this matter."

Betancourt outbreak ends as base is seized by PCA
Miso

Praetorian Curiate Assembly travel representative Avneet Abott announced an end to most outbreak-related restrictions in HIP 101846.

"With Betancourt Base now under our control, we consider the critical risk to shipping posed by this outbreak to have passed. Assembly Authority Lorena Sanford's team has already contained remaining pockets of affliction, and upgrades to station life support are in-progress."

While outbreak status remains active at Panshin's Progress, governed by HIP 101846 Labour, that installation does not have a landing pad. Labour have reportedly agreed to accept any requested searches, and to restrict outbound travel from the settlement until all medical issues are resolved.

PCA suffers setbacks in Babal and HIP 101846
Miso

Patrician Kiera bishop confirmed this morning that negotiations that would have given the Praetorian Curiate Assembly legal control of Babal and HIP 101846 failed in both systems.

"We respect the concern of our partners in these systems as we engage both HR 7766 Gold Comms in HR 7749, and HR 7766 Purple Major Limited in HR 7766. We are confident that victories in these conflicts will underline or worthiness in the eyes of Dictator Yuri Grom and Senator Denton Patreus, the suzerains of these systems."

War reports from HR 7749 and HR 7766 suggest that both wars have turned strongly in the Assembly's favor, with Duke Rowe taking control of HR 7749 imminently. While victory in HR 7766 will not give PCA governance of that system, it will strengthen their position and leave Purple Major Limited with only one remaining asset.

The Assembly's defeat came as a surprise to political analysts in the region, and in Eotienses. Duke Alden Rowe's government, well-backed by Senator Patreus, appeared poised to take control of one of the Empire's most critical high-tech economies.

Instead, Rowe and Bishop have lost their faction's only port in the system, as Patrons of HIP 101846 Empire Group have stepped in to control Betancourt Base, citing "security concerns during PCA's wars elsewhere."

Reports that Senator Patreus approved this move by the Empire Group are unconfirmed.

Imperial Patron comments on PCA's defeat in the HIP 101846 elections
Baldbeard

Earlier today, Imperial Patron Davide Pardo had a few things to say about the recent surprising defeat suffered by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly in the elections in HIP 101846. Interviewed during the system-wide popular political show "The Arena", the prominent local supporter of the reformist People's Princess remarked that "Rowe's defeat, and the concurrent brutal victories that look very likely in the HR wars, clearly shows what we already knew: these people are little more than brutes with imperial sabres."

Later, Pardo clarified "I mean, you can see it clearly right there: when the Duke can't push a narrative of security against some made up terrorist threat, or ruthless Federal corporations or some other crap his advisors fabricate, he just can't win in civilized space. The people that want change here in the Empire, and even the traditionalists, must understand that this is a victory, but not the end of the fight. Not while this perversion of Imperial Patronage still exist in our planets and stations. There's much to do now to strengthen what the feudalists wanted to destroy."

Pardo also commented on PCA's defeat in the neighboring system of Babal: “Babal has been a different thing, I guess. The corporations there must prefer a known evil to an unknown evil. It's concerning to think that these militarist savages might not hesitate to resort to violence, both here and there, now that democracy failed them”.

At the time of writing, PCA representatives haven't responded to the Patron’s accusations.

PCA Knight sighted at Blaschke Enterprise
Miso

Knight Michal Golden of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly was seen this morning at Blaschke Enterprise, in HIP 101846, raising questions about a possible partnership between the League and the Assembly.

Knight Golden's office offered little comment, except that Golden is "meets with independent representatives where appropriate."

In October, Knight Golden led integration efforts after the United HR 7766 Bureau's leader, Erwan Jodoc, accepted a position as a Curia in the Assembly.

Curia Jodoc was killed soon after in the October 4th assassinations, which have embroiled PCA in conflict in HR 7766 and HR 7749. The Assembly's navy is engaged against Gold Comms forces in HR 7749, and analysts predict that a second conflict against Purple Major Limited in HR 7766 is imminent.

Purple Major Limited defeated in HR 7766; PCA "Imperializes" HIP 101846
Miso

Patrician Kiera Bishop of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly announced this afternoon that, as of yesterday, both HIP 101846 and HR 7766 had been "Imperialized."

"We have achieved something truly noteworthy in HIP 101846, one of the most important high-tech systems in the Empire, and the most critical to Senator Patreus and his domain. We have peacefully absorbed the holdings of the HIP 101846 League. All ports in the system are now controlled by Imperial governments."

Asked if the Assembly expected this success to translate into further political victories for Duke Alden Rowe in the system, Patrician Bishop suggested that it was too early to predict future outcomes and that "what matters now is that this system is fully loyal to Emperor Lavigny-Duval."

Bishop also confirmed that Purple Major Limited had been ousted from its major assets in HR 7766, with Sohl Station now under Assembly control: "with the Federation's stations in this system now ours, this system is also fully loyal to the Emperor. Yet we must regret that this success — that we have achieved a goal we set when we first arrived in this system — is tainted. Because despite the system's Imperial allegiance, HR 7766 Gold Comms remains not only incompetent, but unrepentant."

With Purple Major Limited defeated, analysts expect the expansion of the PCA-Gold Comms conflict in HR 7749 to the latter faction's home system.

Duke Alden Rowe challenges HEG for control
Miso

Four months after opening offices in the system, and three months after failing in a bid to draw support away from HIP 101846’s patron network, the Praetorian Curiate Assembly is challenging the local Empire Group for control.

“When the Praetorian Curiate Assembly arrived in HIP 101846, they immediately resolved a serious outbreak at Betancourt Base that the HIP 101846 Empire Group had been unable to resolve. However, Duke Rowe’s attempts to translate this success into favor in the system proved premature and cost his government control of the port,” explained political analyst Ilan Nguyen.

“At the time I noted that Duke Rowe’s declaration of war against HR 7766 Gold Comms had almost certainly lost him support in the halls of Biesbroeck and Betancourt. But since then, his agents managed to bring Blaschke Enterprise into the fold, making the system fully-controlled by Imperial governments.”

With PCA now controlling HR 7766 and CD-52 9732, a period of turmoil has ended and faction representatives are expected to have a far easier time bringing skeptical patrons into their camp.

Others, like Patron Davide Pardo, have already suggested that “the feudalists are simply incompatible with our honorable system. Rowe’s title is invented, no matter how many billions call him Duke.”

Patron Aarstma becomes Curia, HIP 101846 feudal
Miso

HIP 101846 Empire Group formally transferred governance of their home system to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly this morning, after an announcement that Patron Jurre Aartsma had agreed to join the Assembly as a Curia.

In his announcement, Patron Aarstma — now Curia Aarstma — said that "our role as Imperials is to govern on behalf of the Emperor, not on behalf of our Groups, Forums, and Pacts. Our responsibility is to our people, and we must never stop seeking the best way to carry out that responsibility. Accordingly, I have decided to exit the HIP 101846 Empire Group and join Duke Alden Rowe as he pushes toward stronger governance of this region, in the name of Senator Denton Patreus and Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval."

Despite the loss of Aarstma, the HIP 101846 Empire Group remains powerful, serving as a critical support of Patreus in a region once referred to by Patron Davide Pardo as "on the fringe of civilized Imperial space." While the Group no longer governs HIP 101846, they maintain control of Frazetta Ring and numerous other stations throughout the sector.

"We encourage the other Patrons of this system and trust that Curia Aarstma will help ensure a smooth transition in this critical system," commented Patrician Kiera Bishop when pressed on the split nature of the system.

Assembly to enter new talks with HIP 101846 Empire Group
Miso

Curia Jurre Aarstma, whose decision to leave the HIP 101846 Empire Group in favor of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly led to a change of government in HIP 101846, has announced that he would be leading a second round of negotiations intended to transfer further control of the system's major assets to PCA.

"It is in the trust of Senator Denton Patreus, and through the friendship I share — which all Imperials should share — with Duke Alden Rowe, that I will lead these talks. It is my belief that the economic output of this vital system should be entrusted to his leadership and that the wise citizens of the system will recognize a better future when they see it on the horizon."

The local Empire Group was left without a clear leading patron after Aarstma's exit. However, Patron Davide Pardo, an vocal critic of Duke Rowe's feudalist system, has called the announcement "evidence that ever following Aarstma was a mistake."

"Were Aarstma a true leader," Pardo explained, "he would have carried our citizens further, rather than accepting whatever pickings Rowe plans to offer him on whatever hellish agricultural world he seizes next."

Contentious negotiations see PCA take Frazetta
Miso

Negotiations with HIP 101846 Empire Group's patrons ended this morning in a surprising defeat for Patron Davide Pardo, former governor of Frazetta Ring and vocal critic of Duke Alden Rowe's feudalism.

Despite a strong negotiating position, merited by his control of one of the system's twin high-tech Coriolis stations, Patron Pardo was unable to retain the support of his clients in the face of strong offers by Curia Jurre Aarstma.

However, the Empire Group still controls five stations across the system, as well as nine other stations in the region. Remaining patrons have made their intent to retake the system clear:

"With Patron David Pardo having failed to protect the interests of our Group, it falls on me to regain our lost prestige. We remain powerful and if Duke Rowe thinks that we will bow, he is mistaken," stated Patron Winfield Milne.

Aarstma announces tour
Miso

Curia Jurre Aarstma announced yesterday that he would be embarking on a tour of HIP 101846's stations, adding PCA's governors to his retinue before visiting the remaining assets controlled by the Empire Group.

"Patrician Bishop has provided excellent visiting governors who have made great strides in helping our people adapt to our new feudal system. We will be visiting the Empire Group's remaining patrons at Hartmann Station, Edmondson Terminal, Betancourt Base, and Peters Legacy. We are confident that our successes stand on our own, and soon, these patrons will stand with us."

Hartmann Station co-opted by Aarstma tour
Miso

Administrator Timotheos Emerson of Hartmann Station agreed to transfer legal control of his research facility to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly this afternoon, after a lengthy meeting with Curia Jurre Aarstma.

"I was quite pleased at Administrator Emerson's eagerness to join PCA's ongoing research projects," said Curia Aarstma.

Analysts have suggested that Emerson was likely left with little choice. As a client with no patron present on the station, Emerson's operations would have been dependent on patronage from the HIP 101846 Empire Group for operational, financial, and political support.

However, the local patron Group has suffered tremendous losses to Duke Alden Rowe's feudalism. While Patron Winfield Milne, leader of the Empire Group, retains control of four star systems and thirteen stations, he has failed to present strong counter-offers to patrons receiving PCA envoys.

Patrons absent as Assembly progresses
Miso

The HIP 101846 Empire Group, which six months ago controlled all but one station in their home system, has been winnowed down to only two: the refinery at Betancourt Base, and the system’s manufacturing center at Peters Legacy.

As what was once one of the most powerful and wealthiest patron groups in the Empire risks losing its last holdings in HIP 101846 to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, vocal critic Patron Davide Pardo and erstwhile leader Patron Winfield Milne have been completely absent from the region’s political halls for weeks. Pardo, whose connections left him strongly positioned to oppose the Assembly’s expansion into Frazetta Ring after their initial control election, vanished immediately from the system’s business.

While dozens of requests for comment from the Empire Group regarding their home system have been ignored in the last month, Pardo appeared in public last week in HIP 102895, HEG’s last remaining major orbital installation.

Patron Winfield Milne, however, has made no public appearances. However, an inside source in the Praetorian Curiate Assembly indicated that he had made a direct please to Baronet Wreyn Kaira, asking that his government be allowed to maintain its remaining stations.

Regarding the details of this plea, the source described it as “couched in threats and summarily dismissed as untenable.”

Peters Legacy clients open talks with Bishop
Miso

Clients handling daily operations in Peters Legacy have reportedly abandoned support for absentee Patron Winfield Milne and requested direct meetings with Patrician Kiera Bishop.

Peters Legacy's industrial operations were developed several decades ago alongside HIP 101846's twin Coriolis stations as a manufactory supporting their research and development operations.

Client Kallias Schuchert explained the decision to request a position in the Assembly to reporters this morning:

"Our role at this station is to support the system's high tech economy. But now that the Empire Group has lost its administration of that economy, we are left idling — Duke Alden Rowe does not need to send critical projects to a rival's facility. However, we have the contacts that he needs to ensure that this system is as productive as possible and we know that once we join the Assembly, HIP 101846 will once again be a center of high tech development in the Empire."

While opposition from the Empire Group has been tepid in past negotiations, Patron Milne retains control of Betancourt Base and his group's clients at that installation and outside the system may allow him unexpected levels of influence.

Talks close with PCA gaining Peters Legacy
Miso

"While Patron Milne made presented a strong case for staying in the Empire Group, we decided to move forward with our reintegration of Peters Legacy into the HIP 101846 economy," commented Client Kallias Schuchert in a Nine Nyan News interview Sunday evening.

Negotiations between Client Schuchert and the Praetorian Curiate Assembly reportedly lasted longer than most of the Assembly's recent rounds of negotiation, emphasizing the value of the Peters Legacy industrial facilities to their operations in the system.

In unprepared remarks given at Biesbroeck Dock, Baronet Journee Taylor said: "We view total control of ports and major installations in our governed systems as critical to the security of our people and, frankly, the Curiae of the Assembly. Rewarding good service is important to Duke Rowe. And he sees no reason why opposition should be rewarded. So we anticipate completing our operations in HIP 101846 by the start of June."

Betancourt expected to join Assembly
Miso

In a public appearance at Betancourt Base that attendeeds later described as "unusual," Governor Anton Pace indicated that he had approached the Praetorian Curiate Assembly to offer sale of the installation.

Governor Pace, who manages operations for the ailing HIP 101846 Empire Group, informed the port's clients and citizens that "as all of the Group's patrons have decamped to our other systems, our interests should be securing funding for our settlements at Panshin's Progress, Tiedemann Keep, and Friesner Installation."

Pace's comments may suggest that the Group's remaining patrons had no expectation of retaking the system and would likely be focusing future efforts in HIP 102895, their remaining population center.

In response, Curia Jurre Aarstma noted that "Governor Pace was an effective leader when I was a patron in the Group, but his administration was unfortunately let down by a lack of vision."

Detailing the situation, analyst Ilan Nguyen explained that "the Imperials at Betancourt Base arrived as part of the Assembly's original management team brought on to take ownership of the installation after Crimson Fortune failed to stop the December outbreak. Undoubtedly, Governor Pace recognizes that this station is the Group's on paper only."

Praetorian Curiate Assembly completes acquisition of all HIP 101846 ports
Miso

Patrician Kiera Bishop of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly visited Betancourt Base this morning to announce that the station's clients had agreed to follow Curia Jurre Aarstma into her government's feudal system.

"Our government, our Senator, our navy, and our Empire rely on the cutting edge that is honed in this system. The technologies that we create here will brighten the futures of our people, and it will lead our nation forward through dark times. Patreus has placed great trust in us, and we will not fail him.

HIP 101846 is one of the Empire's most critical high tech economies, and the most important holding of Senator Patreus outside of Eotienses itself. Its twin high tech coriolis stations, supported by an array of outposts and planetary installations, produce distribute advanced technology and the Admiral's garrison supplies throughout the sector.

Historically governed by the HIP 101846 Empire Group patron network, the arrival of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly in November saw Duke Alden Rowe's feudalists challenge a major Imperial patronage for the first time.
