13 Archive: Pellang

In one of our longest campaigns, we used Pellang's low population to expand to Theta Indi and Regira. Because of this, our normal process of taking all available assets was spread over a much longer period than we would typically require for a system of this size.

Noblemen of Pellang welcome Praetorian Curiate Assembly
Miso

Baronet Journee Taylor of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly spoke at Flynn's Progress in Pellang today, where the Assembly has opened its newest offices.

"We believe that Pellang offers the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and the Empire a grand opportunity. It is centrally located, and with strong refinery capacity it is well worth our attention. That we have worked with the Noblemen of Pellang in the past is a boon for both our people and theirs."

Critics of the expansionist feudalists, commenting on the condition of anonymity, suggested that Baronet Taylor's remarks were "intended to answer the obvious question — why Rowe would care about such a small situation while engaged with a major local Imperial corporation."

Publicly, local governments have either declined to comment or have only offered basic remarks of support.

Pellang to join Praetorians?

Lord Setiawan Tri of the Noblemen of Pellang confirmed this morning that he had entered into negotiations with Duke Alden Rowe regarding the future of his system.

"I have visited Duke Rowe on Celsius several times since Torval withdrew her interest in our system. I have come to believe that the wealth and stability of our people may depend on the Duke and his Curii."

The Praetorian Curiate Assembly has grown considerably in recent months by building relationships with independent factions in the region, many of which have accepted Duke Alden Rowe as their suzerain.

Speaking on this process, Baronet Wreyn Kaira explained that "this type of growth is very favorable for Senator Patreus, our Duke, and the Empire. It reduces administrative costs and offers us an excellent well of talent and culture from which to draw."

Pellang partnership in disarray

The Praetorian Curiate Assembly's attempt to negotiate control of Pellang collapsed this morning, with representatives from both PCA and the Noblemen of Pellang confirming that Lord Setiawan Tri had disappeared.

Lord Setiawan disappearance has left the Assembly without their closest ally in the system; he and Duke Alden Rowe had been cultivating a partnership in support of Senator Patreus for several months.

Lady Alya Annisa, speaking for the Noblemen of Pellang, described a new round of negotiations as unlikely:

"Lord Setiawan was most eager for this partnership. It would be inappropriate to proceed until he is returned."

PCA follows Pellang Inc buyout with new Noblemen negotiations
Miso

Less than two weeks after purchasing Pellang Inc's operations in CD-52 9732, the Praetorian Curiate Assembly has leveraged their new relationship with the minor corporation to enter into a second round of negotiations with the Noblemen of Pellang.

A first attempt at incorporating noble families from Pellang into Duke Alden Rowe's feudal Assembly failed after the disappearance of Lord Setiawan Tri a personal friend of the Duke.

After Lord Setiawan's disappearance, the proposed agreement between PCA and the Noblemen, which would have installed seen several nobles join the Assembly with the remainder recognizing Rowe as their overlord, was believed to have been put on hold indefinitely, with Lady Alya Annisa describing it as "inappropriate to proceed."

However, early reports are suggesting that a majority of Pellang's nobles are likely to elect to transfer Ising Landing, the system's governing outpost, to PCA control.

Lord Setiawan Tri's whereabouts remain a mystery, and Lady Alya has said little, her office stating that "it is inappropriate to comment on such sensitive topics until they are resolved."

Pellang Passes to Praetorians

Legal control of Pellang was transferred this morning to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, as a second round of negotiations closed without the Noblemen's Lord Setiawan Tri.

Speaking from Ising Landing, Patrician Kiera bishop said: Duke Alden Rowe is pleased to take governorship of this system, but regrets that his friend Lord Setiawan remains absent. In honor their partnership, we will continue to push both for his recovery, and for further relationships with this system's noble families."

Lady Alya Annisa, considered by many to be the faction's most influential noble absent Lord Tri, was less optimistic about PCA's new role in the system.

"Our loss of independence, despite productive affairs with Duke Rowe elsewhere, is not something to be taken lightly. While we will work as closely with his Curii as appropriate, it is my intention to continue my family's rule of Flynn's Progress."

While critical allies of Lord Setiawan have accepted Imperial control, both Flynn's Progress and Chargaff Mines remain independent.

Annisa pushes for independence in Pellang

While negotiations to bring Chargaff Mines in Pellang under PCA control are underway, Lady Alya Annisa's pro-independence position is gaining support.

The low population system, while independent, recognizes Senator Denton Patreus's power in the region. Yet only recently has it accepted an Imperial government.

Speaking on the value of joining the Empire, Patrician Kiera Bishop said:

"The Nobles of Pellang divide amongst themselves fiefs of corridors, rooms, airlocks, and landing pads. And they govern well, and so we offer more than recycled air and food from light years away. We offer more than dim corridors. We offer soil."

Bid for independence fails as Flynn's Progress joins PCA

Lady Alya Annisa's pro-independence negotiating position appears to have failed, with Flynn's Progress, her home station, now governed by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly.

"Despite my fears for what the Empire may bring, my people on this station feel strongly that their hopes for a future on one of Duke Alden Rowe's verdant worlds are worth the risks."

Chargaff mines is now the last independent outpost in Pellang.

Noblemen of Pellang destitute, seeking sale
Miso

Insistence from Lady Alya Annisa of the Noblemen of Pellang over of the last six months that her weakened government should retain control of Chargaff Mines has evaporated in the face of Pellang's burgeoning trade in low temperature diamonds.

"Lady Annisa's refusal to vest her family in Duke Alden Rowe's nobility has left them destitute and resourceless. There is no commodities market at Chargaff, meaning that while Noblemen miners can export beyond Pellang, commander miners operating in the region have bypassed her entirely," explained analyst Ilan Nguyen.

"Perhaps if Lord Setiawan Tri had not gone missing he could have convinced the Annisa's not to expend all of their capital purchasing destitution."

Reports that Lady Annisa had approached Duke Alden Rowe's Assembly were confirmed this morning.
