14 Archive: Theta Indi

Theta Indi is a highly populous system, at one point the 11th most populous in the Federation. Through our long campaign, PCA seized this system for the Empire and took landable assets. This campaign represents our most critical and complex success. Many of the independent feudal factions, alongside Imperial patronages we've partnered with, have been landed in Theta Indi to assist with governance of this important system. Notable, the Praetorian Curiate Assembly does not sell slaves anywhere in the system.

From an older galactic guidebook:

"This expansive and highly populated system's primary economy is agriculture, but also supports active refinery facilities. The twin A class binary stars are also a popular attraction for spacers.

This system is known to support the freeing of slaves."

Khodiwobogi Exchange confirms exit from Theta Indi
Miso

Miners contracted to Khodiwobogi Exchange faced a surprise on Wednesday as they found offices meant to accept their scheduled shipments closed without prior notice.

"I heard shares been fallin' for days, but none of us knew things was this bad. We've been out in the belts for days tryin' to meet quota and then we get here and there's no one to accept? What am I supposed to do with this ore? It's supposed to be contracted to Khowibodogibogi but they ain't in the system! I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to sell it to someone else!"

Khodiwobogi Exchange's shares had been falling for several days, as rumors persisted that the corporation's operations in Theta Indi were struggling with security. Repeated requests for comment have been met with official silence, but anonymous sources within the company have suggested that shipping losses in less secure parts of the system were significant over the last two weeks, and that system authority, managed by the local Federal government, had been unwilling to provide requested security.

"Frankly," said one source, "we are Imperials and relations with Crimson Netcoms Dev had been cagey since Senator Torval left Regira a few months back. Corporate sold our offices, so at least I'll get my severance."

Our anonymous source declined to say to whom the Exchange's offices had been sold.

Khodiwobogi Exchange offices sold to Praetorian Curiate Assembly
Miso

Shuttered depots and offices closed by Khodiwobogi Exchange earlier this month have been re-opened by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, which has announced it will be offering all of the Exchange’s previous contract holders new contracts with favorable rates.

“We believe that any Imperial’s word is his bond, and we are ashamed that miners reliant on business with the Khodiwobogi Exchange were left in the dark recently. We will be honoring their contracts and have even gone so far as to pay for quotas met by the Exchange’s miners, which were unable to be sold. We look forward to guaranteeing the security of these hard-working pilots and their crews moving forward,” stated Esquire Taliyah Duffy.

“We of course,” responded Theta Indi Crimson Netcoms Dev representative Andrija Mathieu, “welcome the Assembly. We continue to place tremendous value on our relationship with Senator Denton Patreus and are committed to proving that the Empire and the Federation can exist as partners in our region — as we did under Senator Torval for several years.”

Resistance struggles to defend Gwynn Vision
Miso

Sudden conflict between Theta Indi Resistance and the Praetorian Curiate Assembly was met with silence by both factions on Thursday, but fresh reporting has narrowed the cause.

"The PCA Navy appeared in force above Gwynn Vision yesterday and immediately began jamming the station's communications. We were unable to request assistance...it wasn't until our crews, returning from their sorties outside the system were denied access to Gwynn that our forces realized we were at war. We do not know what we've done wrong."

It remains unclear why Duke Alden Rowe's Praetorian Curiate Assembly did not issue a public declaration, but an internal source stated that "all local parties have been fully appraised of the situation."

The prospect of a victory for Theta Indi Resistance, an independent democratic movement seeking to 'allow Theta Indi to stand on its own' is slim, with the bulk of the faction's forces held in dock at Gwynn Vision.

Praetorian Curiate Assembly ends resistance movement in Gwynn Vision
Miso

Baronet Wreyn Kaira spoke to colonists today in Gwynn Vision, as PCA staff and contractors busily reconfigured the colony to support its new government.

“Duke Alden Rowe conveys his welcome to the colonists of Gwynn Vision. We are confident that your new lives in the Empire will grant you the security and prosperity that drove many of you to seek independence. While the Federation may have failed to offer it to you, we will guarantee it.”

After his brief announcement, Baronet Kaira introduced a number of community leaders from the Assembly’s other colonies. Last to speak was Magistrate Jack Cernig-Dix, who promised the colonists more frequent shipments of higher quality goods from PCA’s agricultural markets in SPOCS 900, CD-52 9732, and HR 7766:

"We at Praetorian Logistics will be able to deliver a whole range of fresh produce to the people of Gwynn Vision at historically low prices, including succulent Celsius Guinea Pigs which are considered a delicacy anywhere in the galaxy and will be affordable for every household table."

However, some members of the crowd were unwilling to leave the end of their prior government’s rule unquestioned. Baronet Kaira responded, saying:

“Defeating the Resistance government, which we confirmed was responsible for the attacks on Khodiwobogi Exchange’s shipping that precipitated their exit, was critical to the security of Imperial interests in this station. And it was critical to your interests. You will want for nothing under our administration.”

Advanced Incorporated defies Rowe
Miso

Theta Indi Advanced Incorporated and the Praetorian Curiate Assembly have come to blows, after leaked documents showed that multiple requests for negotiation and support from Duke Alden Rowe had been ignored and, later, rebuffed.

Documents provided by our sources have made it clear that Duke Alden Rowe and his staff had sought to bring Theta Indi Advanced Incorporated into the Assembly, but were denied appropriate responses — a considerable insult to an Imperial whose star has been rising.

In a leaked exchange between Senior Executive Spencer Patton and Baronet Journee Taylor, Patton can be heard saying:

"We are not interested in playing your Duke's feudalist games. Our board is not interested in becoming your manufactured lord's assembly. For generations the Empire and the Federation have done business in Theta Indi — peacefully! — and we see no reason for that to change."

In response, Baronet Taylor suggested that "while Advanced Incorporated may be happy to run their colonies under the heel of the Federation, their citizens, doubtless. are not. Choosing to ignore Resistance's attacks on Khodiwobogi Exchange's shipping was an unwise move and represents a broken compact that the Empire simply cannot tolerate. I will remind Advanced Incorporated's board that our authority comes directly — directly — from Senator Patreus. Our offer is not a joke to be laughed at, and we will not be insulted lightly."

Theta Indi Advanced Incorporated representatives refused to comment on the recording. However, Patrician Bishop called the situation "most unfortunate."

When asked to elaborate, Bishop said: "the recording? No, the recording is inappropriate but truthful. Advanced Incorporated's decisions are what is most unfortunate."

Advanced Incorporated defeated in brief conflict
Miso

Theta Indi Advanced Corporate was forced to sign Anderson's Progress over to Praetorian Curiate Assembly control after failing to defend their position against the Assembly in the field.

Said Patrician Kiera Bishop, "The office of Senator Patreus agreed with our view — that Advanced Incorporated erred in rebuffing our attempts at peaceful negotiation. Accordingly, as payment for the conflict they forced us to fight, we will be taking ownership of their colony at Anderson's Progress."

Unlike Gwynn Vision, seized by PCA forces last week, the colonists of Anderson's Progress are already Imperial. Colonist and Client Louis Fortier expressed a cautious optimism in comments to local reporters after the transfer was announced:

"It would have been best for Senior Executive Patton to treat the Assembly more appropriately. We look forward to the changes Duke Alden Rowe's administrators will surely bring to our lives."

Defeat of Advanced Incorporated followed by PCA-Lak Bureau negotiations
Miso

Less than a week after Theta Indi Advanced Incorporated’s refusal to negotiate with the Praetorian Curiate Assembly lost them control of their only port, the Lak Bureau has announced that it has accepted an Assembly delegation:

"Duke Alden Rowe is a thoroughly accomplished man and his successes in this sector have been consistent. We are pleased to accept their request for talks, and we look forward to what we anticipate will be a positive working relationship," said Bureau representative Mesud Anastasios.

Lak Bureau's holdings in Theta Indi are second only to Crimson Netcoms Dev, splitting much of the system's real estate between the Federation in orbit and the Empire on the ground. However, the Bureau has been unable to translate their orbital traffic at Whitney Station or their military base at Barcelos Depot into broader influence across the system.

"This situation is likely familiar to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's leading Curiae. While the layout is not as it was in HR 7766, the political split is similarly challenging for a high population system, and frustration over how Crimson Netcoms Dev have handled piracy in the system where it effects Imperial shipping is high. Lak Bureau does not even control their home system. It seems they gambled on a move to Theta Indi and have not been able to find traction. Rowe may be their answer," said SPOCS 900-based political analyst Ilan Nguyen.

Lak Bureau completes sale of Whitney Station
Miso

The Lak Bureau announced earlier this week that it had transferred control of Whitney Station, their sole orbital platform, to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly:

“We recognize the rise of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly in this sector and believe that supporting Duke Rowe and his government is in the vital interests of the Empire, and in the interests of Theta Indians across the system.”

The acquisition represents the Assembly’s first productive station in the system — both Anderon’s Progress and Gwynn Vision are colonies, which Praetorian Logistics has been supplying since late April.

Most representatives from the system’s other landed factions have not commented. However, Theta Indi Crimson Netcoms Dev communications secretary Debby Zaurbek offered brief views:

“A station of little value goes from an Imperial dictatorship to an Imperial duke. What does this matter to Theta Indi?”

Theta Indi colonists raise questions about security, Federal preference
Miso

Two weeks after a brief conflict between Lak Bureau and Theta Indi Advanced Incorporated, Bureau colonists at Hoffleit's Folly and Lefschetz Installation are rallying for more security.

One colonist did not miss an opportunity to express his concerns to reporters at Lefschetz:

"Attacked by Imperial corporate dogs, no doubt laying with Federal corporate dogs! Where was Nikodim Matsushita when war threatened our colonies? He says this system is his and the Federation's, but he won't protect our shipping! He won't protect our supply ships!"

Reports during the mid-May war suggested that considerable tonnage destined for Lak Bureau's three planetary ports was destroyed at the Theta Indi nav beacon by Advanced Incorporated forces. Crimson Netcoms Dev, which governs six of the system's seven space stations, reported no losses.

Colonists have since pressed the Bureau government on the discrepancy.

"We cannot answer this question except with a guarantee that we will do everything in our power to ensure the security of our colonies," said Bureau representative Lia Beridze.

Crimson Netcoms Dev Communications Secretary Debby Zaurbek has refused to acknowledge rumors that her government was selectively responding to criminal infractions across the system.

Bureau partners with Assembly as security situation deteriorates
Miso

Lak Bureau representative Lia Beridze confirmed this morning that her government had agreed to transfer its colony at Lefschetz Installation to Praetorian Curiate Assembly control:

"The security situation in Theta Indi has become untenable and we simply cannot manage it alone. We need stronger partners to guarantee safety and prosperity for our colonists, and we believe we have found one."

Pirates have been reportedly attacking Lak Bureau's Capital Employment Agency throughout the day.

In response to these attacks, Beridze expressed shock that "an agency intended to better the lives of Theta Indi's people — which has nothing worth stealing — should never be the target of such terrorism."

Beridze declined to speculate on why Resistance vessels were attacking the employment agency, but rumors of Federal backing continue to gain traction.

Scandal brings Theta Indi to the brink
Miso

Factors for Senator Denton Patreus were in an uproar this morning across Eotienses, SPOCS 900, Regira, and Theta Indi, as Imperial representatives suggested that Federal governments in the Regira region had subverted their contracts with the Senator.

“Patreus’ supports the Empire and select partner governments, some of which are independent or even Federation-aligned, via a network of controlled systems. These governments receive deliveries of garrison supplies from Eotienses, and are responsible for the distribution of those supplies to other governments in their regions,” explained Factor Raymundo Velez, the public face of Patreus operations in Eotienses.

But according to local Imperial factions, this distribution has broken down in the Regira sphere. Supplies meant to be distributed by one Federal government to another, and then down to minority station-holding governments, are going missing.

“Regira Crimson General Comms is the most important Federal government that Senator Patreus has partnered with. Regira’s central location and history of cooperation with the Empire, first with Torval, now with Patreus, has allowed us to build trust in a border region between the Galaxy’s great superpowers,” said RCGC representative Sabina Espino.

Regira receives approximately 3,800 tons of mixed garrison supplies — weapons, rations, ammunition for Patreus Sentinels operating in the area — per week. Most of these supplies are distributed to the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, the feudal faction directly governing six systems in the region. The Assembly, which has a long partnership with Senator Patreus and manages the HIP 101846 control system on his behalf, first recorded missing deliveries early last month. While PCA does not govern Theta Indi, their three stations in the system are allocated small shipments of garrison supplies.

“Garrison supply deliveries for Anderson’s Progress, Gwynn Vision, and Whitney Station were inconsistent in May. Either the deliveries were made in full, or the ships scheduled to make the deliveries went missing entirely,” noted Patrician Kiera Bishop of PCA. “Initially we were promised that Crimson Netcoms Dev would increase security and investigate these lost ships, but political turmoil in the system, combined with our long relationship with Senator Patreus, led us to conduct our own investigation.”

Their investigation found deliveries throughout the system to be consistently erratic, with stations across the system receiving either everything or nothing — dependent on the fate of the ships scheduled to deliver them. For Lak Bureau, however, the story is different.

“We have been suffering from piracy for some time now, hence our sale of Lefschetz Installation to PCA on the second,” said Lak Bureau representative Lia Beridze. “Shipments of supplies to all of our holdings were incredibly scarce in May, with very few ships not manned by contracted commanders arriving at any of our planetary installations.”

Bureau representatives reported considerable lost shipping at Barcelos Depot, the system’s sole dedicated military port. Without a market, Barcelos Depot receives considerably less traffic than other stations in Theta Indi, and according to Bureau and PCA investigators, has not received a delivery of garrison supplies from Crimson Netcoms Dev for over a month.

“Ships destined for Barcelos Depot were reported lost, yes, but some were reported as having arrived — but only reported. An inventory of the Depot’s stores have made it clear that no ship ever arrived. Logs were doctored, but the station’s quartermasters have no recollection of ever having dispersed received materiel,” began Patrician Bishop.

“It is our view that the destruction of shipping in this system has been selective, prejudiced against vessels destined for Imperial ports. We doubt now that any “missing” vessels destined for Federation stations in Theta Indi actually are. Crimson Netcoms Devs representatives have yet to provide us any information on the fates of the dozens of craft supposedly destroyed in the system, and requests for their support in this investigation have gone unanswered. They have refused access to logs, manifests, and all other records. They have refused to cooperate.”

“In short,” Bishop finished, “they have stolen from the Admiral.”

Protests and demonstrations roil Theta Indi
Miso

A declaration of war by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and Lak Bureau, in response to claims of misappropriated garrison supplies and a broken contract with Senator Denton Patreus, has precipitated massive protests across Theta Indi.

Demonstrators described Duke Alden Rowe as "coveting Theta Indi" and Senator Denton Patreus as a "war-mongering loan shark."

Patrician Kiera Bishop's response to protests was sanguine: "Duke Rowe and Senator Patreus will not hold the people of Theta Indi responsible for the misdeeds of Chairman Matsushita and his government. The Federation in this system does not even pretend to be a democracy; we know that these men and women have no choice."

Public criticism of Chairman Nikodim Matsushita's government was muted, with protestor instead presenting the Regiran government as collaborators and the Federation as absent.

Theta Indi is the Federation's fourteenth most populous system, and its history of opposition to slavery, both chattel and Imperial, were strong on its cities' streets.

The prospect of a rescue by the Federal Navy is unclear. Despite the system's importance to the Federation, the region has grown to be completely dominated by Patreus and Rowe. The Praetorian Curiate Assembly has ousted Federation governments in SPOCS 900, Nyoru, Smethells 56, and ended the split allegiance of HR 7766 earlier this year.

"Past conflicts in this region have seen the Federation show the flag, but little more. A strong intervention is unlikely. Battlecruisers may be deployed if they are already stationed in the system or at nearby anchorages, but a full-scale war is impossible," suggested analyst Ilan Nguyen.

"Federally-aligned commanders may respond. But the time to defeat Senator Patreus and Duke Rowe in this region would have been before they arrived. When Regira revolted from Torval's control, Federal factions dominated the sphere. The Federal United Command did not save them."

Theta Indi conquered by Imperial interests
Miso

An early Federal Navy counter-attack in Theta Indi failed to stop Duke Alden Rowe's conquest of the populous system, embroiled in a scandal centered around broken contracts, stolen resources, and privateering across the system.

"We anticipated strong resistance and met it successfully, despite tactical defeats on the first day of the war. Our overwhelming response as the conflict progressed forced all but local Federal Navy elements off the field by Saturday. We send our sincerest thanks to our allies, the Imperial Hegemony of Paliologos and the Sacred Knights," said Knight Kacie Bowen, commander of local operations.

Despite the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's control of Levi-Montalcini Ring and the planet Theta Indi, accounting for destroyed shipping and misappropriated garrison supplies is expected to be a slow process.

"My office's early examination of records leaves no question that Crimson Netcoms Dev was engaged in a complex operation to divert supplies from Lak Bureau to their own forces," said Factor Keira Henson.

"Frankly," continued Henson, "we do not expect to recover these supplies. We expect them to be used against us."

Chairman Nikodim Matsushita's Crimson Netcoms Dev retains control of five major installations in the system. Neither he nor Crimson communications secretary Debby Zaurbek have commented on their government's defeat.

While PCA leaders anticipate continued conflict as Crimson forces are defeated and assets are captured across the system, Patrician Kiera Bishop's public remarks emphasized the future of Theta Indi as an Imperial system, now the Empire's ninth most populous:

"Our focus today is on governance of Theta Indi, not future actions against Chairman Nikodim Matsushita's Federal corporation. The people of this great system are not responsible for the misdeeds of their government. A durable peace that integrates Theta Indi into the Empire irrevocably is our goal."

Demonstrations and protests that began alongside the war for the system remain active, focusing on concerns that mass slavery will be introduced as, according to one protestor, "revenge."

In her public comments, Bishop described Imperial slavery as "never punitive." When this important institution is introduced to the people of Theta Indi, it will be as an opportunity, not a punishment," she continued.

Pressed on how her government would handle a society accustomed to public assembly, Bishop took a tolerant position. "These protests have not yet threatened civil unrest, and so we will allow them to continue. Duke Alden Rowe and Senator Patreus will bring great change to the people of Theta Indi, and they will be better for it."

Federation deploys capital ships in bid to break Imperial military in Theta Indi
Miso

A Federal blockade supported by a Farragut-class battlecruiser, the FNS Tyrianna, failed to stop Praetorian Curiate Assembly vessels arriving from nearby bases in Petra and HR 7766.

"Federal forces launched an assault early this morning in Barcelos Depot, threatening the Empire's main military installation in this system. They've pinned down our forces there. We've sent sorties against the Crimson ships at Wyeth City, but protecting Theta Indi and Levi-Montalcini Ring is our priority," said Knight Kacie Bowen.

The PCA navy has yet to establish permanent military ports in Theta Indi, instead operating locally out of Barcelos Depot and in long-term orbit around planet Theta Indi, over 12,000 ls from the system's arrival point.

Knight Bowen described chaos in the system throughout the day: "Shortly after they began their assault on Barcelos, FNS Tyrianna took station around Theta Indi A 1. Our capital ships and commanders routed them late in the evening, allowing the PCA navy to reinforce the system."

Bowen insisted that the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's control of the system was not in question. The loss of Barcelos Depot to Federation forces, however, will be a significant blow to the system's new Imperial government.

Crimson ploy to take Barcelos Depot fails
Miso

Crimson Netcoms Dev could not recover from their broken blockade last week and have lost control of Wyeth City in their war with Lak Bureau. Lak Bureau, supported by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, had been forced to defend the Empire's main military installation in the system at Barcelos Depot.

"Once the blockade was broken, PCA forces were able to relieve the Bureau without leaving planet Theta Indi undefended," said Lak Bureau representative Lia Beridze.

The Federation's loss of Wyeth City has left the Empire dominant around the system's primary star, reducing Crimson Netcoms Dev's ability to launch similar attacks in the future.

Knight Kacie Bowen of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly cautioned that "the threat of reconquest by Federal forces will never leave. We must mitigate it by uniting every station in the system."

Disease and defeat wrack Crimson Netcoms Dev
Miso

As last week's skirmish between Imperial and Federal proxies ended, the first vessels landing at Conrad Horizons were not military ships guaranteeing the Empire's claim, but aid vessels fighting what Praetorian Curiate Assembly and Lak Bureau leaders consider the most important conflict in Theta Indi.

"The threat of a serious outbreak in Theta Indi is very real. Crimson Netcoms Dev entered an official outbreak state during last week's brief war, making prevention our absolute priority as soon as Lak Bureau took control of Conrad Horizons," said Bureau representative Lia Beridze.

PCA and Bureau vessels have even gone so far as to deliver bulk shipments of medicine at Stebler Port, the Federation's lone remaining major orbital asset.

"Suppression of this outbreak underlines the failure of Federal forces in this system to govern effectively. We still have a humanitarian responsibility to end it. And of course we expect these suffering masses to be Imperial one day," explained PCA Baronet Taylor.

No faction has offered concrete information about the nature of the pathogen afflicting the system. While the disease in question has not yet spread to planet Theta Indi itself, the duration of the outbreak has made it clear that a simple cure is not available. Despite constant advances in medical technology in recent generations, unexpected contagions such as the Cerberus Plague can offer challenges to governments and pharmacologists that can only be resolved with time.

Dr. Ivan Sloan of CD-52 9732's Blue Pines Clinic suggested the circumstances that may lead to such challenges:

"Any outbreak represents an unusual disease, unusually lax maintenance of facilities, or both. A legal declaration of outbreak — required by the Pilots' Federation in many cases — is a statement that normal measures have failed."

Bureau and PCA representatives have suggested, however, that in this instance, the problem is one solvable by logistics.

Said Beridze, "The failure here is ultimately Crimson's. If they cannot move enough medicine to their facilities, then we will step in and if need be resolve the risk permanently."

Crimson revanchists lose skirmishes, Stebler
Miso

Chairman Nikodim Matsushita responded to Imperial assistance in ending his government's outbreak with rare public comments immediately followed by the deployment of a Farragut-class battlecruiser in Theta Indi.

In a brief press conference, Matsushita suggested that Imperial forces had "salted our lands with one hand while offering the cure with another," clearly alluding to the use of biological weapons. Fighting around Wyeth City and Stebler Port commenced minutes later.

The FNS Siouxie, deployed around Theta Indi A 6, was quickly routed. With the Siouxie's gone from the system, Crimson's effort collapsed, resulting in the loss of Stebler Port early Thursday.

"We have been maintaining a strong defense around Theta Indi and its secondary, WO 9733 B, as well as planet Theta Indi itself. Capital ships can bypass nav beacons. Their support fleets, however, cannot." Knight Michal Golden expressed a strong view that Crimson Netcoms Dev is unlikely to threaten the system further, but refused to dismiss the possibility of further conflict.

With Stebler Port under Lak Bureau's control, Bureau representatives have begun a major PR campaign to dismiss what they describe as a "dangerous conspiracy" driven by "Federal fear."

Patrician Kiera Bishop called Matsushita's accusation "unthinkable:"

"The idea that the Empire would use biological weapons against the people of this system beggars belief. Neither Duke Alden Rowe nor Senator Patreus would sign off on such an operation."

Imperial forces mop up Federation remnants
Miso

Baronet Wreyn Kaira spoke this morning on the continuing joint PCA-Lak Bureau campaign to Imperialize Theta Indi’s population centers and ports:

“Our intent a month ago was to seek peace and prosperity across the system. This hasn’t changed, but Crimson Netcoms Dev has made it clear that achieving this goal will require Imperial control of all ports in the system.”

Scandal in June over the distribution of garrison supplies in support of Admiral Denton Patreus’s operations in the region sparked the first conflict over the system. Praetorian Curiate Assembly control has not been challenged since, with Imperial and Federal proxies Lak Bureau and Crimson Netcoms Dev repeatedly engaging in conflict driven by Chairman Nikodim Matsushita’s Federal corporation’s to guarantee a foothold for their power.

Defeat has been swift and repetitive for Matsushita, who claimed last month that Lak Bureau had engaged in a biological attack that forced his government to declare its holdings in outbreak

Both Bureau and Assembly representatives have denied his claims.

Imperial victories dampened by Regira massacre
Miso

Less than a week after an Imperial coalition lead by Lak Bureau and the Praetorian Curiate Assembly took control of Theta Indi Crimson Netcomms Development's last outpost in Theta Indi, the Petra Empire Pact has been forced out of Regira.

"Our faction faced constant attacks on our shipping at Beekman Lab for well over a week and. It is just as it was in Theta Indi — the Federation's local government refused to provide security and, as Regira is a distribution hub for Senator Patreus, we have no doubt as to the reasons why," said Governor Melany McConnell, leader of the Petra Empire Pact.

McConnell confirmed PEP's withdrawal, citing collapsed security and the end of her Pact's operational funds. Beekman Lab was her government's only station, and Regira Crimson General Comms has already claimed the asset.

Crimson General Comms representatives refused to comment on the deteriorating security situation. The Empire still has a presence in Regira, however, with Balmung Patron's Principles in control of Bordage Port.

"What happened to Governor McConnell's forces at Beekman Lab was tragic but we have no doubt that whoever is responsible would not dare to attack us," commented Patron Sigurd Akselsen.

Baronet Wreyn Kaira of the Praetorian Curiate Assembly, whose government recently seized Buffet City in Khan in retaliation for the deaths of multiple Imperials in a series of protests, said that "Rowe and Patreus will not let this stand."

PCA and BPP in Regira partnership talks
Miso

Office space across Regira formerly leased by Petra Empire Pact has been purchased by the Praetorian Curiate Assembly in a maneuver that has left Federal commentators in the populous system furious.

"That Rowe and his lackeys would stoop to using shell companies to purchase real state in Federal cities and on Federal stations is somehow unbelievable yet incredibly typical for his disgusting government," said Conrad Rasch of Regiran Federal News.

Patrician Kiera Bishop's announcement that the Praetorian Curiate Assembly had opened offices across the system was immediately followed by reports of pending negotiations between her faction and Balmung Patron's Principles, which controls Bordage Port and Glenn's Folly.

While Patron Sigurd Akselsen suggested last Sunday that an attack on BPP assets in Regira was unthinkable, rumors abound that Admiral Denton Patreus had directed Rowe into the system, and Akselsen and his patron network into talks.

The destruction of Petra Empire Pact shipping and Regira Crimson General Comm's subsequent seizure of Beekman Lab has brought the future of Patreus's partnership with Regira Crimson into question.

RCGC representative Sabina Espino responded to PCA's real estate purchase with a brief and defensive statement.

"We continue to deny involvement in any imagined misdeeds in both Regira and Theta Indi."

Espino presented her faction as a strong and reliable partner for the Empire, first through Senator Torval and later through Senator Patreus when suggestions that Theta Indi's former Federal government had misallocated resources.

While skirmishes between the Empire and the Federation in Theta Indi have been ongoing since June, the odds of Theta Indi Crimson Netcomms Dev retaking their system are low, leaving Regira isolated in the region.

PCA and Bureau leads reported on Achenar
Miso

Political traffic in out out of Phaedra, the Praetorian Curiate Assembly's mobile capital on Celsius in SPOCS 900, has come to a halt following the Assembly's victory last week over Future of Regira.

As traffic has stopped, so has PCA's carefully cultivated rumor mill: reports of potential negotiations and acquisitions with Imperial factions, and portents of conflict with Federal and independent interests, have also gone quiet.

While Assembly representatives have declined requests for comment, sightings of Duke Alden Rowe in Achenar were confirmed earlier today, with local sources suggesting that he traveled to Capitol with Bureaucrat Murtaz Maisuradze, leader of Lak Bureau, the Imperial government administering a number of major assets in Theta Indi.

"Duke Rowe is a recluse but that he was noticed in Achenar is not unusual. What is unusual is that it is him in Achenar, rather than one of his lieutenants in Eotienses," noted analyst Okorie Kayode.

Also unusual, according to Kayode, was the attendance of Bureaucrat Maisuradze.

"Bureaucrat Murtaz Maisuradze has made neither public comments nor appearances in either Lak or Theta Indi since the beginning of the Imperial-Federation proxy conflict there."

Recognition of Maisuradze was reportedly indirect, with his presence as part of Rowe's party uncovered in a copy of a travel manifest from SPOCS 900 to Achenar.

"The purpose of their visit is not clear. It is important that Bureaucrat Maisuradze traveled as a member of Duke Rowe's party, despite his surely considerable assets and personal power. And it is important that Rowe has not been accorded the ceremony usually reserved for such an occasion."

Lak Bureau representative Lia Beridze has also refused to discuss Maisuradze and Rowe's presence on Capitol.

Senator Patreus at Capitol with Rowe, Maisuradze
Miso

Members of Senator Denton Patreus’s staff confirmed this morning that the Senator and Admiral of the Fleet of the Empire, traveled to Achenar from Eotienses on Saturday for a series of high-level meetings with unnamed Imperials.

Duke Alden Rowe, whose unusual presence on Capitol was first reported yesterday, is directly loyal to Senator Patreus, who represents all Praetorian Curiate Assembly systems to the Emperor.

Also on Capitol is Bureaucrat Murtaz Maisuradze, whose partnership with PCA saw the Empire take control of Theta Indi after allegations of piracy and mismanagement of Patreus’s resources were levied against Theta Indi Crimson Netcoms Dev.

Both Rowe and Maisuradze are presumed in attendance at their Senator's meetings.

“That this meeting is on Achenar rather than Eotienses means that it is all but certain that Chancellor Blaine is present at this meeting. Perhaps the Emperor herself,” said analyst Okorie Kayode.

Rowe returns to SPOCS 900 with Bureau removed from Theta Indi
Miso

A Senate decree has revoked Lak Bureau's power in Theta Indi, transferring the Bureau's assets to feudalist Duke Alden Rowe's Praetorian Curiate Assembly.

Bureaucrat Murtaz Maisuradze's government rose to prominence during an Imperial campaign backed by Senator Patreus to seize control of Theta Indi. While the unusual decree, a reversal of power initially vested in the Bureau by the Imperial Senate to manage what holdings it could accrue in the border region surround Lak, allows the Bureau to continue operating in Lak and Kafigelabon, it leaves Maisuradze's government with no appreciable assets. Despite successes in Theta Indi, Lak Bureau does not control Lak and wields minimal influence in Kafigelabon.

"We still do not know what was discussed in Achenar that led to this outcome. But it represents a significant political victory for Duke Alden Rowe."

Duke Alden Rowe did not offer comment to reporters awaiting his arrival on Phaedra. However, at least one photograph of the famously stoic Rowe showed a slight smile.

Patrician Kiera Bishop offered brief remarks shortly after news of Lak Bureau's revocation broke:

"Responsibility for Theta Indi is now solely ours. The Praetorian Curiate Assembly will guarantee its prosperity and security in perpetuity. I have no comment on Lak Bureau."

Murtaz Maisuradze was not seen arriving in SPOCS 900 with Duke Rowe, despite a direct transit from Achenar.

His whereabouts are unknown and no Lak Bureau representative has been successfully contacted.

Outbreak returns to Theta Indi
Miso

Praetorian Curiate Assembly security and medical personnel have enacted enhanced biological containment procedures across Theta Indi. All ships traveling through the system are subject to these procedures.

The outbreak has reportedly not yet reached planet Theta Indi and its 15 billion inhabitants.

"This contagion was detected this morning at both Hoffleit's Folly and Vittori's Progress. There is no sign that it has left those colonies. However, we will be stockpiling medical resources in the unlikely event that it should spread," said Esquire Taliyah Duffy

Duffy stated that while increased PCA shipping in Theta Indi intended to prepare an expansion into a new system at Senator Patreus's direction would be used to deliver medicine across the system, the expansion would not be delayed.

Both Hoffleit's Folly and Vittori's Progress were controlled by Lak Bureau until Duke Rowe's return to the region without Murtaz Maisuradze on Thursday.

Styra Empire League partners with Praetorian Curiate Assembly in Theta Indi
Miso

Representatives from the Praetorian Curiate Assembly and Styra Empire League announced today that their governments had formed an administrative partnership in Theta Indi, the Assembly's most populous center — and the Empire's eighth.

In their announcement, Patrician Kiera Bishop, the Assembly's lead administrator, noted that "while the population of Theta Indi has proven amenable to Imperial governance, the complexities of rule in such a system are significant."

Her comments were followed by Governor Liana Stephenson of the Styra Empire League. Governor Stephenson suggested that "bringing Theta Indi into Imperial society will require considerable support, which we are pleased to help provide.

Duke Alden Rowe's Assembly has incorporated a number of feudal factions, both Imperial and independent, to assist with governance in conquered systems. His partnership with the Empire League will vest a patronage in his operations and is expected to help tie his government to more standard methods of Imperial control.

While civil unrest has not struck any Praetorian Curiate Assembly holdings, despite the status of many as former Federation population centers, the risk of a thinly stretched PCA bureaucracy and Curiae remain significant as the Assembly recovers from a hard-fought conquest in Regira and major conflicts in Khan.
