Operation Glitter Bomb

This just might be the biggest mission to come across our desk yet, and it's going to truly demand some talent to see it through.
That's why you're here.

Sometimes life just hands you gold right on a golden platter.
This could be one of those moments.

Recent unfoldments have uncovered a possible rumor worth investigating further. To say this is dangerous....well, Commander, you know the risks.
After all, that's why you're here, isn't it? To see the true depths you can go with a decent ship, some fuel, some determination, and a purpose?

Our corporate spies think that they've revealed a secret of some incredible size being hidden within the new Brookes Galactic Tours. If you haven't taken the tours, get to it fast and report back when you're finished. We're not sure if it's the locations, the parties involved, or the pilots themselves, that are hiding it but something just isn't right. It feels like it's just staring us in the face.

“And fast by, hanging in a golden chain, This pendent world, in bigness as a star of smallest magnitude, close by the moon.”

— John Milton

Our focus specifically on this one, Commander, is on the last line of the tour's message.
The people in encryption believe it's revealing all we need to know, but wrapped in some kind of metaphor.
I'm just a messenger, I have no idea what it's saying if it's saying anything at all.
Evidently, they've sourced the quote from an old-world book all the way back from Earth. Sixteenth-century poetry....
The book's name is Paradise Lost, by a man named....Milton....John Milton! if I remember right. Anyways...
What the hell does anything way out there in Orion of all places, have to do with old books from Earth!?

They also believe they've narrowed whatever we're looking for down to the stars in the Orion nebula where PMD2009 48 quietly sits.
They think these stars are the Golden Chain that's mentioned in the quote, and that whatever we're out for is near a moon. They suspect it might not be picked up by sensors like everything else. I don't know, maybe it's a distance thing, one-thousand light seconds from it rule, like the old days before we had all these fancy scanner upgrades. They're still missing something and they need your help. Given the enormous star density out here, it would make sense to use it as a place to hide something, wouldn't it?

The folks over in Archeology have been talking about stuff out here for a while. First, it was Thargoids getting close with Witch Head, then the discovery of Project Seraph. Those poor souls that were experimented on in those Thargoid ships. We can't wait around for Seo Jin-Ae on this one. The last great event was the discovery of the Proteus crash site and the revelation of the war between the Thargoids and the Guardians out in Orion's Belt of all places! Those damn Guardians.....That was millions of years ago. We've still never figured out who won that war, by the way.
What's next?! I have my suspicions.
This mission, if successful, seems like it just might be the damn answer.

Objectives of Operation Mirror Ball

I. Assuming this is your first visit to Orion, set your ship's navigation to non-visited stars only with economic routing and cover as many star systems as possible within the Orion Nebula, paying sharp attention to any notable signals emanating from or around any of the planets while you're out there.

II. Attempt to translate and decipher the clues within the Brookes Galactic Tour to reveal something noticeably different than normal.

As always, we've asked you to help with this because we need your unique flavor and approach, so do what you need to do, Commander.
We trust you know what that may be. Though our operatives are nearby, you'll mostly be on your own with this one.
We look forward to your safe return.

Heads up, there's a war going on in PMD2009 48. Just be careful.
