About AEDC

Diplomats with teeth, doing the dirty work for the Alliance

What do we provide?

The Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps provides a common platform and infrastructure offering pilots directed, goal-oriented gameplay that forms part of meaningful long-term campaign to benefit the Alliance superpower, whilst supporting events and content creation within a friendly and mutually supportive community.

AEDC is home to a large number of players who have found their calling in supporting the Alliance & doing the work of promoting it's interests throughout the galaxy. We are an international group, centering our communications on a busy Discord server notable for it's mature, casual and light-hearted atmosphere.

We are a premier BGS (background simulation) group - our main focus is expanding the presence of Alliance factions in the Milky Way and promoting them to ruling status of systems, which we achieve through a combination of all of the available in-game activities. Since our inception in 3301, the dedication of our members has helped hundreds of systems turn green and we have gone on to develop tools that enable us to better plan our operations, direct our efforts and track our impact in the game world.

As staunch supporters of the Alliance, we don't enforce any particular kind of playstyle for our members with the exception that we do not condone piracy or unprovoked aggressive actions toward other players, Alliance or not. We recognize your right to play the way you want to play. If that happens to be supporting what we want to accomplish then we welcome your efforts.

So if you are looking for mature and well-rounded players working to accomplish good things for the Alliance in Elite: Dangerous, please join us! Our Discord server is located here and there is usually someone that can welcome you!

As always, fly safe. For the Alliance!

AEDC and the Alliance in Elite Dangerous

As a player group, The Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps promotes the interests of the Alliance of Independent Systems, one of 3 major political factions in the game's lore; the other two are the Federation and the Empire. The bulk of Alliance space in Elite Dangerous encompasses a large area around it's capital system of Alioth with another notable stronghold in the Old Worlds region of the Lave cluster, as well as control of several outlying nebulae colonies and areas on the fringe of the occupied bubble.

AEDC's main area of operations is about halfway between the Alioth and the Old Worlds regions and centres around our officially adopted Corporate faction - Wolf 406 Transport & Co - which originated in the Wolf 406 system and is based at Hamilton Gateway station.

Over many years of activity the company's presence has been expanded through hard work, skilled diplomacy and occasional force to include over 80 star systems and it is now in control of more than 60, making it one of the largest and most populous Alliance factions in the game . We call this overarching goal the work of 'greening the galaxy'.

Long-term campaigns involving Wolf Transport (and other green factions in which we have an interest) have established AEDC as an important diplomatic arm of the wider Alliance which, despite being the smallest of the three major factions in terms of player support and presence in Elite Dangerous, more than holds it's own on the galactic stage thanks to the unusual dedication of it's pilots.

AEDC has been instrumental in both expanding Alliance holdings and defending Alliance territorial interests from encroachment by the Empire and Federation alike, giving rise to the motto of 'Diplomats with teeth, doing the dirty work for the Alliance'.

In-game Activity of AEDC

AEDC's work involves the capture of star ports and surface assets via player activity through manipulation of the games background simulation (BGS) - we flip ownership of star systems to the Alliance by promoting factions to system ruler status, maintain systems we already control, and expand Alliance factions to new systems which serves to extend the influence of the Alliance as a whole.

Managing the BGS - which is a complex mechanism aggregating all pilot activity on a system by system basis into effects on the minor factions present within them - is our speciality, and AEDC pilots are guided by experienced officers in their efforts to alter influence levels, decide the outcome of events and encourage or suppress state triggers for minor factions throughout our territory which we divide into managable 'operations', all with the overarching aim of achieving specific goals that are reflected in the game-world.

The BGS is affected by almost every activity in Elite Dangerous from warfare to peaceful trading, which makes for great variety in daily operations as we strive to make a long-term difference to the galaxy. Our Command Centre routinely hosts ops of every flavour, offering opportunities for pilots to participate across a full range of playstyles whilst retaining the complete freedom to choose how and when they wish to contribute.

Everything we do is carefully thought out. If you don't care to understand the BGS yourself, that's no problem, that part is done for you. If you do like to understand the detail of why we're doing specific actions then our discord server is the place to discuss all of that in the smallest detail.

How to Join AEDC

You need perform the non-optional tasks listed below:
  • Read the code of conduct below
  • Join us on Discord.
  • Once your application is approved you will also need to sign up to the AEDC Command Centre.
  *  optional: join the AEDC private group in-game
(Send a private group request or friend request to commander AEDC)
  *  optional: join our wing on Inara.cz

No duplicate accounts allowed.

*XBOX and PS4 players please take a photo of your Systems Panel (the one that shows CMDR name and Power pledge) and upload that when you post here.

After completing the tasks above, an AEDC officer will review your application and if successful, promote your account to militia status.  That's unlikely to happen immediately, so check back the next day.  It's likely you'll have an in-game friend request from the officer who added you too.  Also be aware that inactivity for a prolongued period is likely to mean your militia status is temporarily removed for reasons of operational security.  Don't be insulted should that happen, simply request re-activation on your return.

Code of Conduct

If you join AEDC you agree with the following principles, may the ban-hammer fall upon you if you do not comply

  • AEDC is a private organisation, we value operational security highly. Do NOT leak information/opinions found on the forum or discussed in Discord, nor inform others of operations found on the AEDC Command Centre.
  • If you are found using cheats or hacks in open or group you will be kicked and banned.
  • No OOC s***-talking or posting on behalf of AEDC in-game, forums, Reddit or wherever; we are all grown ups here. Having some laughs is different from being a douche-bag. Don't be a douche-bag, and if someone is being a douche bag to you, just ignore them: this is just the Internet (don't engage in stupid behaviour).
  • No combat logging, exploiting or other dishonest behaviour while engaging with hostile players. If you play in open you agree to non-consensual pvp, meaning disadvantageous situations and the risk of losing a ship. If you are not prepared to lose a ship, fly a cheaper ship; if you are not prepared to lose any ship: DON'T PLAY IN OPEN.
  • No multi-grouping. Please do not apply to join us if you are already a member of another organized player group, or if you plan on joining another group in the future. If you feel like you're an exception (like the Mobius community), please contact us to discuss your situation. If you later decide to join another group, please talk to AEDC leadership first, not afterwards!
  • You are free to play in any game mode. 70-80% of AEDC play in open most of the time, the rest solo or in private group. You are free to choose.
  • We are not a dedicated PvP group although we do have pvp wings and active pvp'ers are welcome (as long as they agree with this CoC)
  • We don't "declare war" on other player groups (usually at least). We happen to support a certain faction, and occasionally that means we may collide with other PvP or PvE groups and players (open/group/solo).
  • We do not initiate hostile activity against other players in "civilized" space (where there is some sort of authority) unless they are known hostile players or they initiate aggression.
  • We are not Alliance policemen' or 'bounty hunters'. It is not our job to hunt other players. We care about Alliance factions, not individuals. If you have an axe to grind against a player or a group then that is your problem, not ours. If you have any past problem with some player, you leave them behind when you join our group.

Coaliton & affiliate criteria

Player groups interested in forming a coalition or affiliation with AEDC in an official capacity, must meet the following criteria:
  • Alliance factions only, no exceptions
  • Active & established diplomatic relationship with AEDC at a BGS level
  • Observes & adheres to BGS etiquette
  • note: AEDC still welcomes diplomacy with groups not eligible for coalition status.

    - AEDC Lore -

Victoria Wolf VI, First Merchantess of Wolf 406 Transport & Co

Previously only mentioned in curt snippets of unofficial communications, our Lady of the Alliance has begun the work of bringing prosperity and freedom to as many star-systems as possible, at last.

Ever polite and supportive of their family and employees, there has always been a Victoria at the helm of Wolf Transport & Co - after all, the family traces it's fortune back to the days of Victoria Wolf I. when Wolf 406 was just a small refinery system in the middle of nowhere.

The generations of accumulation and investment of wealth have made Wolf Transport the leading corporation in the sector and, with the switch from refining to high tech production in the last two generations of the family having truly paid off. Now listed formally on the Alioth stock exchange and a member of the Alioth 1000 Index, the company is at last considered a solid investment for the wider galactic economy and is finally ready to expand beyond the borders of it's home system.

And each Victoria has aged and died in service of the company's ever-increasing wealth for six generations now. Yet each time a successor would appear, seemingly from nowhere, to claim the title of First Merchantess after vindication of their lineage by DNA test in accordance with the custom established in the final testament of the earliest of their number.

"There has always been a Victoria", say the Wolf family, "...and with Victoria we continue to prosper."

    The rise of Victoria Wolf

After contact from Victoria Wolf in early Jan 3301, AEDC began operating in the Wolf 406 region of space. Victoria's connections - powerful interests in the Old Worlds under constant pressure from the rampant piracy, violence, and instability which were then commonplace, presented an opportunity for Wolf Transport to exploit it's strategic position between the heart of the Alliance at Alioth and the Old Worlds.

In what became known via leaked documents from the AEDC archive as the ‘banana axis’, Victoria encouraged this network of contacts to utilise Wolf 406 Transport Co services for transportation of goods and resources between the two regions, with the high tech factories of Wolf 406 Transport Co ideally placed to profit as a supply-chain hub.

Unfortunately the turmoil and lawlessness intensified, and the commerce between the two Alliance sectors began to slow down, rapidly destabilising the Old World's region further. Again, Victoria intervened to leverage her strategic position, bringing together a diverse range of powerful groups in the Old Worlds,a number of Alliance Democracies, and some fringe Alliance factions in a summit with the purpose of arriving at a solution to the problem. The outcome saw AEDC, now a trusted ally of Wolf Transport, tasked with securing and reinforcing the Alliance presence in the region, strengthening links with the Old Worlds and dealing with the troublemakers.

Now in need of a military strategy, AEDC made contact with the Alliance Navy Commodore Helena Stone, posted at the system of LHS 2541 to supervise the task force of the local Alliance Combine faction. In a quick series of operations Alliance Combine and Wolf Transport successfully secured important assets in the region, providing a preliminary stage from which to expand their stabilisation campaign into the Old Worlds alongside that region's local forces.

Between March and June of 3301, efforts were made to secure the region involving other groups and with support from individual pilots, and during this time Victoria acquired a lucrative contract with Lakon Spaceways to manufacture the Diamondback Explorer, improving the stretched financial position of the Wolf Transport Company and providing the monetary impetus for the next phase of her long term plan.

The company continued to strengthen it's presence in the following years, with Wolf 406 Transport Co becoming a dominant force in the region that provides a vital beltway for Alliance trade and industry. She began supporting several subsidiary factions in the area, again largely via AEDC operations, ultimately causing a large number of planets and their millions of citizens to seek and join the prosperous and rapidly stabilising Alliance.

    Commodore Helena Stone

The daughter of an electrical maintenance technician and payroll supervisor in Alioth, Commodore Stone joined the Alioth navy as early as she could, always conducting herself with a distinct lack of decorum unusual in the service.

Sometimes referred to as "Commodore Sweatpants" (always quickly corrected to the more appropriate "Cargopants") during her military tenure, she rose through the ranks but never lost her sense of humor, being frequently amused by the romantic advances of fresh officers.  She would quip that, usually, the shade of red her suitors inevitably turn is reserved for Federation installations.

Despite her lack of formality she is an accomplished strategist, and an adherent and disciple of "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu.  She doesn't believe that the Alliance should seclude itself from the rest of the galaxy - in her opinion, the Thargoids present an unknown and unpredictable opponent and the Alliance should prepare itself with strong diplomatic relations both internally and externally.  This penchant for diplomacy (including the aggressive variety, when the need has arisen) saw her drawn to the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps where she currently enjoys a seat on the Board of Directors alongside others like Victoria Wolf VI.

In 3301, the First Merchantess and Commodore worked together to coordinate Operation Augeas, striving to rid the system of BD-22 3573 of criminal elements lead by a character who named himself "King Justice II" who had placed bounties on AEDC members.  Despite the criminals being quite good at hiding at first, AEDC pilots efficiently flushed out and eliminated the threats and the operation was a resounding success

Since then, Commodore Helena Stone has worked with AEDC members to continue expanding Alliance influence throughout civilized space.
