Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński

Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński (4 May 1944 – 4 January 2015) was a Polish professor of sociology who was the founder and first head of the Polish Academy of Sciences Institute of Political Studies, Rector of Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. He was a Fellow at the Institute of Human Sciences in Vienna, the University of Notre Dame, and Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin. He is a member of the Polish National Council for Civil Service and the National Council for European Integration.

Wnuk-Lipiński was born in Sucha. He was the author of a social fiction dystopia trilogy, Apostezjon (Wir pamieci, Rozpad polowiczny, Mord zalozycielski), and was the winner of Janusz A. Zajdel Award in 1988 for Rozpad polowiczny.
