Elite: Odyssey

Maul MontresorI used the energylink weapon thingy to power up a terminal

Yup, that was my problem. Didn't know how to do that. Before that I had only missions where the settlement was powered, so finding things was easy.

Btw, I just found this video:

Finally a ship to fly in Odyssey!

Did you saw the video where the same anaconda was blown by 2 reloads of sidearm?

Most I've experienced is 7 G's for a few seconds in the backseat of a hornet. Negative G's suck more, especially if you've had a great breakfast.

9 G's would not be fun, and imagine having to manage that in a knife fight with an opponent.

Bruh, you can punch Anaconda to death, literally. That is with the basic flight suite. Why would few Gs mater?

155m long , hull mass 400t, armor hardness 65 destroyed by punching landing gear with a fist

I went to do a power restore mission and died while standing on the other side of a wall, I'm guessing there was a fire on the other side

Yeah, fires are instagib. Not sure what is more frustrating though, fires or facing NPC sponges swarm with limited ammo. For some reasons NPCs always find me unless I am on some rooftop to which they have no access by walking.

Peanuts...

The engines of the Imperial Cutter produce more thrust than 8 Saturn V rockets, or 510 Boeing 787-8's.

When boosting from a standstill, my Cutter reaches 400 m/s in about 3 seconds for an acceleration of 133 m/s/s (more than 13 g's).

Its current mass is 2150 tons, so its engines are producing 285817 kilonewtons of thrust.

If my math holds up, the engines are producing more than 76,885,266 horsepower mid-boost.

This all goes to show you that the true marvels of the elite universe are the palm trees in tourism stations- virtually unaffected only a few hundred meters away from the equivalent of 8 simultaneous Saturn V rocket launches.

Wrong. The power of the Imperial Cutter comes from all the BASKING!

So with news dropping of data mined info on the Panther Clipper LX being found in Odyssey files, is it just coincidence that i see crew members in the lounge with bios referencing flying one or were those always there? I only ever use a fighter when in my crusader and my crew mate flew condor fighters before she took over my condor fighter

Fires are not instagib with shields tho, but if you dont know the fire is there and you get gibbed from the other side of the wall then yeah. And NPCS are not sponges is just for some god forsaken reason the combat in odyssey makes the dmg types VERY one sided, if you dont have a thermal you deal like so little dmg to shields you shouldnt even bother, and if you dont have kinetic good luck killing someone after the shield is down. They really need to buff the dmg types vs their counter a little bit just so you dont have moments when you run out of ammo in a weapon just to find you cant kill the guy because the dmg type of your other weapon cannot deal with the npc.

Guess what, I have thermal pistol/ Two reloads to take the shield down. Swap to Karma-50 rifle, one reload is not enough to take down armor of one commando before the shield is up again. Swarmed by 4-5 of those which kill you with 1-2 hits even with shields. And all that presented in a threat-0 non-combat mission.

I know that the combat is not on focus in this phase but still it requires a lot of tweaks , balance and setup.
