Matt87Just looking for a general opinion on decent combat ship.. Just casual combat I guess nothing extreme. Lol.. I've been using krait mk 2...just kinda like to try something different maybe.
I would recommend the Alliance Chieftain it's got firepower pretty close to a krait as well as being around about the same speed and more maneuverable. If you outfit and engineer it right they can be pretty tanky considering how fast they are. Also it's a fair bit cheaper than a krait so it's easier on the wallet too.

FDL is good change but you will need some engineering to make the build work.

Good suggestion but it is downgrade compared to krait.

I think an FDL is overkill for "Casual Combat" I think a Chieftain is more appropriate to his level of experience and funds. An FDL is a bit of a 1 trick pony while a chieftain can have a bit more flexibility in terms of what roles you can use it for.
Chieftains punch well above their weight, I've beaten engineered FDL's in PVP with my chieftain.

Wyntayeah so hi im having issues remembering how to usae inara to search for nearby anarchy systems in famine is any one able to help?
https://inara.cz/galaxy-nearest/
There are three tabs on top of search tool: Station, Minor Faction, Star System.
You are looking for minor faction state so use second tab: Minor Factions.
@RedivivusCrowd in context of PvE and limited access to engineering Chieftain is a downgrade from Krait with lesser protection and DPS, smaller PP and PD.

KheprI'm guessing you can't get the CG DSS anymore? Too bad I was so far out in the black...
Its in your stored modules. I had a couple that were ~27min away from me since my guess its my home station but the one in Betancourt was like ~2hrs away. Didnt even have to go there to pick it up. Had it shipped to my home base when I got there and went to bed.
I think we should have a player to player shipping in this game, could make good money

I am a fairly new player, just under one week, and I have wanted to try exploration since I found out about Elite Dangerous. The thing is, I don't have a clue as to which ship is best and am looking for something under twenty million or so. Any advice on which ship I should use and which modules should be equipped? For reference, I have taken a look at the Elite Dangerous wiki on exploration, but I am not sure how reliable it is or if it left out anything important. I would appreciate any help or advice given to me.

The Diamondback Explorer will give you a pretty good start - add Guardian FSD Booster and some engineering and jump ranges of 60+LY on a full tank are easily achieved. It is slow to Fuel Scoop, but runs cool enough to permit easy fill-ups.
Suggested build as a starter:Basic DBX
And only 10.6 million...

DBX is still my favorite explorer once you try it, it will be yours too

An other thing i overlooked at first. if you want to improve jump range, except for the fsd don't automatically pick the best grade for other modules for example a grade 3A power plant will give you enough power if you don't have shields and hard points while improving jump range. identify your prirorties and outfit accordingly. i recommend using coriolis for theory-crafting.
