SakashiroI how do you make money to pay for its upkeep
Just be a billionaire. Ez.
On serious note. You should have some funds before going into darkness. Don't see any other way.

August DavenportDescartes"Insufficient power in capacitors?
what does that mean and how can I fix it please?
It means that the power draw for the system in question is too high for the power distribution system to keep up and you've exhausted the power capacitors. y.

Making a few millions per week by scanning systems isn't hard. I was just wondering if that's the only option. Apparently it is.

SakashiroI have a question about fleet carriers: If you use your carrier for exploration and take it out of the Bubble, how do you make money to pay for its upkeep? I know you can install Universal Cartographics as a carrier service and sell exploration data to it, but are there any other options? If I understand fleet carrier commodity markets correctly, any mined commodities you sell to the market on your carrier, you're basically selling to yourself since you represent both sides of the trade. To actually turn those commodities into funds, you have to return to civilization and sell them to others.

SakashiroI'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get a carrier and become completely self-sufficient out in the black, i.e. without having to return to civilization (except for vacations) and without one's credit balance bleeding dry. The solution I see is to install Universal Cartographics (and possibly Vista Genomics in the future) and sell data to them, and to mine tritium to remain mobile. Mining platinum is more profitable of course (and so is hauling), but it doesn't work outside populated areas. You have to come home to sell it.
August Davenport As you present it, it might not be worthwhile solo, but could be with an expedition, squadron, or group working from one FC. The more folks you have churning out data, the easier time you'll have being in the accounting black while exploring the black.
