BurstarBe wary of getting the Space Madness...
I was thinking about why it is that every time I am in the bubble, I want to go out explore, and every time I explore, I want to return to the bubble ASAP. I think the reason is that ship-based exploration is too monotonous, and that you see the rewards only at the very end of the journey. Carrier-based exploration might just be the perfect fix for that. It also adds a sense of purpose to money-earning activities. It introduces a bit of survival style gameplay to ED, because you have to go out and do things to keep your carrier fueled and funded. Sort of like maintaining a settlement in Fallout 4, especially when FDev adds interiors to carriers and you'll be able to see the crew that you're responsible for. I love that.
