SakashiroWhile we're at it, here's a more up-to-date table:

A table of all of Edsy's ship thermals

Can confirm what it says about the Mamba. I can almost touch a star's exclusion zone when scooping, it won't overheat.

This data makes more sense now. Okay, so the data is available. Good to know...

I wonder if anyone's done the math to figure out how much heat the stars dump on the ship when in the red zone using this information.

I am sure different stars heat the ship differently while scooping. But I haven't bothered to search about information on the topic.

Did you just changed the shield in my build?
Probably some weird mass coincidence. Anyway , nice catch although I wouldn't build this ship.

Good that someone reads my morning madness.

P.S. Heading to Colonia tonight - first time with a FC and it is not mine.

Couldn't resist mocking your build since you always mock mine.

Sorry, if you see it that way. It was never my intention.

In general D rated shields give best ratio power and MJ vs mass.

It is visible by your mockery, your build is slightly hotter

Olive oyl? Let's meet at the bar, oh wait

Haha, no FC bar this week for sure. My Orca and escape ticket are already parked.

I will be there for departure.

Hi, I’ve got 2 questions for your wise brains today:

1) i noticed in EDSY that putting pips to eng only alters the pitch in handling. It has no effect on roll or yaw. Is this true in game as well?

2) Thanks to Epi and his random explorer builds. I use small ships for FC based exploring which need to feature:
Fuel scoop
Guardian FSD boost
Shield
SRV hangar
Detailed surface scan
(Optional) limpets and cargo
The priorities I’m after in a new build are:
Jump range (less concerned with jump distance)
Heat dissipation
Manoeuvrability
Speed (not boost)
I’ve been using the Dolphin, which is great but the shaking of the cockpit is starting to irritate me, so does anyone have a better solution? Currently messing about with T-6 - decent range, okay heat but have never really flown one to know if it flies well with A-thrusters.

For 2)
Mandatory - add at least 1 AMFU, 2 is better (one to repair another instead of rebooting ship)
Optional - repair limpet controller and 4t cargo for limpets(4t is minimum amount of limpets you can synth)
Optional - mining lasers for collecting raw mats from rings (and collector if you do not want to scoop manually, given that you have space)
Optional - PA or railguns with plasma slug experimental to fine tune your fuel capacity for longer jump range

Not using neutrons and only ever travelling max 500 ly from FC so haven't found a use for them lately, even on my work-a-day Phantom
Episparh Optional - repair limpet controller and 4t cargo for limpets(4t is minimum amount of limpets you can synth)

Agree, nice to have, but optional. Often not enough space on smaller ships.
Episparh Optional - mining lasers for collecting raw mats from rings (and collector if you do not want to scoop manually, given that you have space)

I Find laser mat collection too random. SRV collection of raw mats is much more focused. I Know what I'm going to find. Not much of an issue as raw mats are maxed out currently.
Episparh Optional - PA or railguns with plasma slug experimental to fine tune your fuel capacity for longer jump range

Not worth it imo as I tend to limit my jumps to a max of around 20ly. Though, a ship that could do around 50Ly is fine. So, yeah. If I was looking at an explorer FdL then this may be useful. But the overall range is too poor - less than 3 jumps without refueling. I'm after 5 to 6 jump range really (eg. Asp Scout)

Oh, if you use FC you can leave most of the stuff. Including the fuel scoop and guardian FSD booster

You can always relay on it to save you.
