Was it by that Kornelius Bredis something guy? If so then negative. Patched that up quite a while ago if my memory from reading the comments section stands correct

There are some around that spawn gold and pirates in equal amounts, but I don't think the precious gem ones are really around any more.

Iaened Bourne3 interdictions in a row on one trip, and this isn't the first time either.

One as I was making a hyperspace jump: Won
One just after I entered the new system: Won
One STRAIGHT after jumping back to super cruise: Lost

The last one bugged out my HUD. I was seeing double, and it was impossible to even try and evade.

Is it a gameplay mechanic that if they really don't want you to get somewhere they will send increasingly difficult NPCs to ensure your destruction, or is that bug? It certainly isn't fair ...

Also, the system authority wing that sometimes shows up is useless. They are either too far away to do anything, too weak/few to fight off the pirate/s, or turn up too late to be of any help.

Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone does.  If you start looking closely you realize game "cheats" a LOT.

I've had multiple NPCs hunting me as part of a delivery mission (running multiple missions at once, each one picked up a hunter): sure enough they ALL know exactly where and when to intercept me* and apparently they're all lined up like trains in an interdiction roller coaster because as soon as one was evaded the next one started, without so much as a pause: 3, 4, 5 interdictions, back to back.

And of course, once one manages to interdict you all the others instantly drop on the location too, so now it's 4 on 1.  But it takes the cops 5 minutes to show up and when they do they're waaaay off in the distance.

Similarly, I experimented with really fast ships thinking I could stay out of interdiction range, only to watch the hunter (I had him locked) magically go from over 1000ls (and falling away) to danger close and interdicting my butt in the blink of an eye.

E:D's one of those rare games that actively punishes players no matter what they do.  Its an uphill battle all the time.

*if you ever did one of those assassination missions, you know how ridiculously hard it can be finding your target.  Its like the mission is a complete amateur-hour $#!7 show and you get a runaround from one system to another just trying to figure out which system your target is supposed to be in.  I want to work for those other guys hunting me, apparently they have their intel gathering squared away.

ALSO.. ever notice how sometimes the game won't LET you win the interdiction mini-game? No matter how well you do, it just holds you at the point where you would normally evade, and then you start losing and your "interdiction progress bar" (whatever you want to call it) just starts draining and there's NOTHING you can do to save it.

I still don't know much of what y'all be talking about.. I mean, I've done the same thing- plus had a bounty on my head too while I was at it. But they never seem to get repeated interdictions like y'all say.
Is it only for big time traders and smugglers?

I've been doing a lot of minor faction delivery missions (both data and cargo) lately, often stacking the full 20. I think the chance increases the more cargo you are carrying, and/or the more missions you have. Most of the NPCs are talking about the "rumours being true" or the like.

I swear, if I found out who is tipping all these people off .....

Still, it was quite funny a while ago. I had switched to my T6 to do an outpost delivery mission, when the mission object changed to say that there was someone hunting me. He interdicted me a few times, but I always escaped. So when I got back to my home port, I changed out for my Anaconda that I designed to survive. Needless to say, the look of surprise on his face was priceless.....

I've been noticing that the higher the reward payout, the more difficult the missions become, as it should be. Last night I had a substantially large payout for a smuggling mission and consequently had a fun time playing interdiction "cat and mouse" with a particularly stubborn NPC in an Imperial cutter against my lightly fitted Asp.

Not to mention I've had some salvaging missions (and again, I've noticed a payout threshold here) where I approached the cans, and Boom, 5 NPC's jumped in right on top of me and within seconds, opened fired. One particular instance it was one Anaconda, 2 vipers and an eagle. Suffice it to say, I did not survive that encounter It lasted about 15 seconds before I was embracing the suffocating black. Not that I'm complaining, just sharing my observation.

It would be nice if the ship you had, and you reputation with factions, determined how random NPCs treated you. I know the powers thing does, but for once I'd like to see a pirate go "Oh crap, you're in an Anaconda? Please don't kill me. I'll tell my friends to leave you alone."

Can I not just fly in peace, Frontier? Must we fight? Why can't we be friends?

Mm, that's probably what it is then, higher risk = higher reward.
Mostly anyways, once you've killed the guy that's been following you you don't get another npc to replace him.
At least not immediately.

Of course the game cheats. What fun would it be otherwise. Here's the thing - at least in my head-canon about how the world works inside ED - the missions are not just visible to you, the player, they're visible to other NPC pilots with conflicting agendas. If you take a delivery mission, word gets around. The more lucrative your missions, or your cargo, the more incentive there is for other (NPC) pilots to deprive you of your prize. That makes perfect sense, and it absolutely should be happening this way.

Multiple NPCs coordinating their attacks, like a wing of human players would, also makes perfect sense - so getting interdicted and having additional hostiles swoop in on you is to be expected.

What doesn't make sense is when NPCs violate the laws of physics. That's just bullshit.
