So... Here I am engineering an anaconda (again) in anticipation to Passenger Missions in Colonia.

It's been a good opportunity to see how she handles around stars and she runs smoking hot, so I guess there is more work to do.

I'll call her BUFF (USAF B-52 nickname Big Ugly Fat Fellow), I might not be doing the best possible with the fit, but I try my best, she still is limited in Jump range with all those Passenger Cabins (<> 45 LY)...

>>>>>

Good. BUFF is done, 50.84LY Jump range, plenty of watts on tap, 7 Passenger Cabins and she runs cool, can't ask for more.

CEOS Sothis run... Only one jump and BUFF behaves perfectly, no overheating, boost is good, it looks like my fit is OK, but I still don't like the handling, a blue wale would run circles around this ship...

[Thinder Wrote [Those drives looked like bloody horrors waiting to burn a ship and completely uncontrollable at first, plus I have a controller issue (yaw) which developed at the wrong time...]

Hi , Funny, I also have noticed a Yaw issue.

I have deadzone set to quite high to try to compensate but keeps pulling to the left by itself . Very annoying. Only while flying - does not seem to affect driving in the SRV - I use Yaw for steering.

I use Thrustmaster Airbus joystick / Throttles and play exclusively in VR.

Maybe if the yaw effects different set ups it might be something in the game code. Mine started a month or so ago. I didn't ticket it because I assumed the fault might lie with my stick.

My Throttle is genuinely screwed up, there is a play in the paddle I use for Yaw control, so it is near impossible to aim accurately but it might also come from the game code, I couldn't say but definitively my Throttle isn't working well.

Something is missing in this game and it is curves for control sets, the plastic get worn out, it's not the quality it used to be, so I decided to buy and new one but also a THRUSTMASTER TFRP T.FLIGHT RUDDER PEDALS (I never used pedals so I'll have to learn) at the end of the month, I'll ticket if the problem persists.

I also play exclusively in VR, I use a Pico 4.

Descartes[quote=Thinder]BTW Folks...

I'm planning a trip to Colonia with my Fleet Carrier in the mid-term
, I could carry a couple of ships if you're interested.

Its about time I went back to Colonia. Love to join you on the trip if you can let me know where and when your leaving.

Thanks x

Can do.

In fact I'm ready, I have the Tritium, no particular missions holding me in the bubble, I'm based in Ross 342, the Carrier is the Charles de Gaulle (H4M-33Y), there is room for several ships.

So it's up to you to dock and let me know when you want to leave, Open or Solo.

I'm there now, ready to leave, almost, just waiting for a spare ship to arrive .

OK. Let me know when your spare is docked.

We need to communicate so I don't leave you behind by accident if you're out, you can send me a friend request, I'll log in Open play to start.

Charles de Gaulle (H4M-33Y) left for Colonia with her first passenger and his two ships...

I have enough Tritium for return trip + reserve, my all fleet (12 ships) onboard, good Carrier, due to server traffic, spool up time is <> 25 mn.

I'm not sure what they could do other than maybe give the ship some type of multiplier for jump range, maybe by removing weapon slots as a compromise. As it is, I am perfectly happy with my 50LY AspX. I am in no rush to go anywhere and tend to fully map the systems I go through, anyway.

Just my thoughts, which sort of echo yours re 50Ly AspX...I'm not sure why you need a massive jump range for exploration, once you get outside the bubble there are million of stars that have yet to be explored and by jumping 50-100Ly you are bypassing a lot of them. There is plenty to go at with a moderate range. Sure there might be problems if fuel stars get few and far between, but I think having larger fuel capacity would be generally better than massive range [if you have massive range you probably need the extra fuel as well].

If your intent is to travel the Sag-A, Colonia or the outer rim, then sure, large range or Fleet Carrier with a ship rigged for Tritium mining, but for discovery, not so much (IMHO).

Ralph ThumI am well-disposed everywhere, no military rank. I am a peace-loving merchant with no fighting talent or lack any fighting experience.
Any Interstellar Factor should suffice. to pay off the Bounty.
No, I was inside a restricted area on a mission to scan a data link, that's where the bounty came from. But it's now done, thank you.

To note, (reading through your trials with getting clean), remember also that it is often still necessary to log out and back in again to get even ISF's to recognize your condition and clear you up.

Hello pilots, is this the right forum for beginners' questions or should I go somewhere else? The first question was kindly answered very quickly and helpfully.

It's useful to have anyway, I honk a few systems between Carrier jumps, right now I'm using my Type 7 because I also need to transfer Tritium to it and donate it back to the Carrier between Jumps, consumption is 122t per jump in this configuration, but if I explore further regions, I'll use my Krait Phantom (70.31 LY range), to go further away from the Carrier.

It's better to have the range and not need it...

My ASP Explorer is equipped with two 2E beam lasers and two 1G pulse lasers with fully automatic target tracking, both are in the same fire group. But they both do not track the targeted enemies! they always shoot straight ahead and do not move a millimeter when the enemy changes course. I only hit them if I fly straight at the enemy. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I've forgotten? Thanks in advance.

In the right-hand (systems) panel, go to the Ship tab. There, under Functions (top-most sub-tab), you’ll find the option “Turret weapon mode”. In your case, it is obviously set to “Forward fire”. Set it to either “Target only” or “Fire at will” (the latter option will make turrets fire at any hostile target, not necessarily the selected one, which is rarely what one wants, so better stick with “Target only”, IMHO).

Ralph ThumThanks in advance.

You’re welcome

(edited to make it clearer what “Fire at will” means)

My Krait Phantom is completely unarmed.

To get this sort of range you need weight saving measures, so getting rid of weapons is a must and in any case, I never need a weapon.

On my Combat ships I use fixed weapons, except in the case of the Corvette because the 4A MULTI-CANNON [GIMBALLED] seems to focus faster than lower Class, my Beam Lasers are Fixed. (Make me think that I could change the two 2F MULTI-CANNON for Fixed weapons).

Thinder, you saved my career, or rather got it off the ground. Thank you very much for that.

I'm not a dedicated fighter either, I'm more of a trader and explorer, but in order to rise in Federation rank and unlock Sol and other systems, it's necessary to do some fighting, isn't it?
