Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

zzRICKOzzJames HussarzzRICKOzzArtieOh, I trust you that you saw that price. And I am also certain that price was on the station(s) in the game at the time of update. But as some markets with some commodities are VERY volatile at the moment, the prices may change very frequently. Please also see the explanation in the general discussion.
THE STATION I DOCKED AT PAID THE PRICE YOU GUYS ADVRRTISED NO PROBS THERE. YOU GUYS ADVERTISE BIG SELL PRICES BUT DONT UPDATE SO WE KNOW WHERE. GOOD FOR YOU
Anyone remember if commodity prices are influenced by trade rank and/or reputation with the controlling faction for the market? Maybe that's at play here?
Also, as others have suggested, the game can cheat. The price is reported when a commander lands at the station, but then if they sell that item in a large amount, that can change the price - but that isn't updated to the network until the next commander reports the new price.
The very good prices, especially on the most expensive mined materials, change in a few hours, so even if the price is reasonably current, it may not be valid anymore.
Also, zzRICKOzz, please understand that Artie does not control the prices, or maintain them, here on Inara. They are automatically looked up from a database that is "crowd-sourced" by player activity in the game. Getting angry at Artie about it is not only rude, it is pointless. If anything, other users of the site see you do it, and think less of you for it.
Same thing again look at commodities max sell 1.7 check for stations and best on list Shackleton hope 1.495
Any Elite Dangerous price guidance on this or any site is historical information, and should be taken as such. Inara does not have a real-time feed from the game. It imports data that is collected when Cmdrs running certain applications (E:D Market Connector) visit a station and upload the market info. As players, we all have to accept that using historical data is a bit like steering a car by looking in the rear-view mirror. It can't predict what's in front of us. It can be frustrating, but that's how things are.
Even if the prices were 100% current in real-time, another Cmdr could transact their sale just before you and change the supply/demand before you can sell. That is all on FDEV, and the market changes they made with the last update. Also, as I think has been pointed out, the qty you have to sell can change the buy price offered by the station.
Inara controls none of this; Artie provides a site that tries to aggregate the best info available.

For a case you are talking about a thing I think you may be talking about, then yes - there may be up to 1 minute delay in the best sell listing due caching (but it's usually much less). But honestly, if the prices are changing that fast in the game, it will very likely change at least one more time until you get to the station in the game. In the current mining insanity, players need to play smarter, not faster. No prices monitoring will help them to get the absolutely best prices unless they are very lucky, because there is a crowd of other commanders trying to sell the stuff at the very moment, too.

I did a bit of experimentation, and reputation with controlling faction did not change anything. If you sell 1 and 1 of a material, you can see how the price increase every time the market demand goes up the maximum demand (which probably has some way of being determined as well). For Anderson City, at the time of writing carrying 192 LTD in your cargo will net you a price of 1,080,777Cr per piece, 79 LTD nets 1,501,306Cr and 28 LTD nets 1,691,103Cr. The maximum demand for this station is 504. From this, it could seem if you carry more than 5% of the total demand, you'll start drifting away from the maximum possible price by quite a bit, especially as that fraction grows.
Given the number of stations with relatively low demand (<1000) showing some the highest prices, and with heavy impact of cargo on price, it's not weird that the prices seem to fluctuating like crazy at the moment, as it will heavily depend on how much the various commanders are carrying.

This is GREAT research. I don't like the conclusion, but you have done a really good job of investigating this. Very rational and scientific!
So it would seem that the game cheats is the conclusion. It KNOWS how much cargo you have in your ship, and it adjusts the price it offers you based on the assumption you will sell all your cargo there.
If the station has a good price, that is based on one single ton of the commodity. If you show up with the full demand's worth of cargo, you will not get even close to that good price even for your first ton.
It makes sense, and we see this in the real world all the time. It's not simple supply/demand, it's speculative demand and pricing set based on expected supply.
The economy of ED makes a lot more sense if you flip supply and demand. Your cargo is not a supply, it is your demand to sell stuff. And the station "demand" or "price" is it's supply to buy your stuff. The commodities are not the commodities, the transaction are the commodities.

Wise words! I never thought about it like that...

Well, this is how it ever was in Elite if you believe FD.
And if not, all you have to do is check Stations demand as well as the price per ton.

ArtieShayaHi Artie,
I've been doing a lot of BGS missions lately, and I've noticed the inf shown in the mission log doesn't always match the inf that the game tells me I'm getting from a particular faction. (Sometimes higher, sometimes lower, only usually out by one though.) Is this an error, or is it that inf is actually fractional, and it reports differently in game and in Inara?
Do you can point me to exact missions/timestamps, please? A long time ago I have noticed there may be some issues with the influence values reported in the journals, but I would rather to double-check that on my side first, if it isn't some parsing issue.
Sure, if you want to have a look at the following, what I recorded in game and (in brackets) what Inara recorded:
ISD 04-04-2020 11:37 ++ (none shown - actually, inf for Orrere Energy Company rarely, if ever, shows)
Delivery 2 gold 04-04-2020 16:13 ++ (OEC, none shown)
Courier 04-04-2020 16:27 +++ (Inara ++)
ISD 04-04-2020 16:33 +++ (++)
ISD 04-04-2020 16:40 ++ (OEC, none shown)
ISD 04-04-2020 17:00 +++ (++)
Delivery 72 synthetic meat 04-04-2020 17:08 +++ (++++)
Famine data 04-04-2020 17:56 +++ (++)
Donate credits 04-04-2020 18:16 ++ (OEC, none shown)
Bring us fish 04-04-2020 19:13 +++ (++++)
Provide credits 04-04-2020 19:13 + (++)
I think there was also an issue the day before, but I wasn't paying as much attention. I'm also wondering if I'm misreading missions - am I right in thinking the inf awarded is for the issuing faction only? (I know rep is increased with the receiving faction, but didn't think inf was.)

Thanks for the details. There is definitely something odd. The "Delivery 2 gold" may be something I can probably handle (the influence of ++ was not granted to the minor faction giving the mission, but for the target faction), but there is a lot of missions that simply reported wrong value in the journal, based on your data (the values were exactly as shown in Inara). Even weirder is the credits donation mission, which stated ++ on the mission acceptance, but reported "" (no influence) on the mission completion, just some reputation gain. It would be great to keep an eye on that during the upcoming beta and if not fixed there, report it to Frontier.

PargyrakHi Artie,
when I enter the Njiri system I get an erro on ED market connector: Inara SetCommanderReputationMinorFaction. Te reuptation value exceeds valid range
It's a bug in EDMC sending the minor faction reputation in a range -100;100 instead of -1;1, so until it will be fixed there, you may see it quite often in the systems you are having non-neutral reputation.

RostiroHello it is possible hide my images from global gallery? I save images for my logbooks and i dont think, that they are very nice or interesting for global gallery. But they are important for my logbooks.
Thank you
Rostiro
Hello, not at the moment and no specific plans for that (yet). But I think a picture of two from time to time will make no harm.
Wes_7569recently posted a journal entry and put in a link for a picture that I uploaded to the gallery here but it does not work so I just put the webpage under it.
Ah, yes, please open the image (not the page with the image) in a new window and use that link instead. It seems I should provide also some direct image link to make it easier and more clear.
