Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hiya Artie,

Quick question/feature request..
I was wondering if it is possible to change a minor faction's type on Inara (from NPC to Player).

I myself have adopted an NPC faction in BGS, and I am definitely not the first if the frontier forums are any indication.

Indeed I could name a few Minor Factions in my region which are technically "NPC", but used as player factions, just as involved in inter-player BGS war as any other (United Fintamkina Left Party, for example).
It would be nice for groups like that to be able to show this on Inara, other than through their efforts, by having that little "PLAYER" tag alongside their name in the System overviews.

There is a distinct difference between Player and NPC Minor factions, altering this would skew real data.

Perhaps an additional note next to NPC that states 'Adopted' would be more appropriate.

Could he contact FDev to claim that faction as a player faction? That would make it the same as any other squads faction. Just wondering.

BTW. our squads issue has been resolved.

While I understand that there is a technical difference between auto-generated factions and factions inserted by FDev upon request, I don't see how this would skew any data of real importance.
In my view, this simply concerns a cosmetic little "tag" that implies "Players are actively supporting this faction", which, if anything, is data currently lacking visibility in certain cases.

I do not believe this is possible.

Adoption suggestions ownership or control, you would simply be supporting the faction. This wouldn't garner the same level of mutual respect from player factions unless you had enough guns or BGS power to back up your position.

Expanding the "supporting" feature to include a "primary supporter for..." or "agent for..." might better demonstate a marker against a single faction to give people visibility of this type of activity. I would also suggest being able to find a list of player names be made possible when clicking on the "supporter" in the faction page, currently you can only find out what factions a player supports, not what players support a faction. Knowing someone supports a faction is interesting but if I can't find out who it is I can't contact them. I hope that makes sense.

A good point. Although I am sure I've heard the term adoption be used in this context before on the frontier forums.

Request: Keep original filename, Title, Location and Description of uploaded screenshots when deleting them. Just got almost my full gallery deleted, retrieving all the screenshots one by one from all my screenshot folders sucks.

Not sure which side is wrong, but game only lists Low Temperature Diamonds as being consumed by Tourism, Refinery, High Tech and Industrial economies, while Inara also lists Agriculture, Extraction, Military, Service, Terraforming and Colony in addition.

  • Can we have a price age filter in our market settings?
  • Could you maybe even refactor out the market settings from our "settings" menu, and just place it on the market page instead?
  • The timestamps on the market page to not respect our selected timezone in settings.

These would be some nice quality of life changes.

I believe, but don't quote me on this, that the in-game listings don't take zero-demand markets into account, but Inara does.

Hi, hope this is the right place- just visited engineer marsha hicks in Colonia bubble, can confirm that she she now engineers cannons up to G4. Inara has her down as g3 and there's a note on the page asking us to update you with any changes, so here I am!

Can we please make the material trader list a bit easier to locate on the site? I hate when I have to get out of the site to go to google and search for material trader inara.cz

It just seems like it would be better to have it on the top main tabs.

If you go to the Market page, then look for "other services", the material trader is one of the options.

Though, having it be a page that can be added to shortcuts, along with interstellar factors, might be great!

So, some of the requests were resolved finally and you can see the adjustments.

About the "kill-board" idea discussed here: Actually, Inara has the data already, as it's used for the law&crime reports, but I am not exposing the criminals data for various reasons - I do not want to turn it into a competition who killed more innocent commanders and also do not want to discourage people playing that way to send their data (although it won't affect crime reports, as it's reported also by victims, it may discourage usage of Inara generally). The option is to has it as voluntary "opt-in" feature, but to be honest - based on the data, it seems such option will be very rarely used and it doesn't worth an effort at the moment.

RotwhylrHi Artie, the update doesn't seem to be reflecting all my AX kills properly. It's showing only 2 recent Basilisk kills?

It's very likely connected to this issue: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/12596 so if it's case, please make a mention there.

The flag "adopted" is quite good idea, adding it to the list. The problem around player faction is mainly about a point of view. Technically, no faction is PMF unless it was added by players, but practically, any faction can be PMF because it's driven by players, doesn't matter if it was added by them or not. I think the more important criteria is that the faction is driven by players, because it will tell you more about how the faction currently operates, although it's not "formally" entirely correct. But I can see why people may not like it. The "adopted" flag may solve it nicely.

Maybe, as there is a caching involved, it may be a little bit complicated, but I will take a look on that. The timestamps on the market page do respect the timezone settings, but if do you noticed something else, please tell me where exactly it's wrong as it may be an unintended bug.

Ah, yes, that may be wrong, I will fix that. Thanks!

You can use this Inara page. You can also put it into your shortcuts (named as "Galaxy - nearest" ), so you can find the material traders, etc. quickly.
