Elite roleplay: The docks

THE DOCKS (Dockyards)

The Docks is where all pilots berth their ships. It is the first place that pilots find themselves upon landing their ship. Docking and launching is controlled by the Citi Gateway’s Traffic Controllers while each individual dock is controlled by a dockmaster and a team of orange clad dock crew workers.

The Docks is a sparse and desolate, 0.1G environment, littered with service vehicles, cranes and landing pads. While cool, the air is dry and lightly filled with the smell of burnt metal and ship grease. Public Service Announcements blare across the the docks reminding all pilots of station regulations. The docks contain 45 individual ship docks, several warehouses storing massive tank of hydrogen fuel, and standard shipping containers of cargo, the dock’s traffic control tower and the local pilot’s market which resides in one of the warehouses.

Ship docks
Each specific dock has a landing pad, a ship hangar and adjoining terminal. In each terminal there is a passenger waiting area, the dockmaster’s control tower and several dock crew vehicle bay.

Warehouses
If the docks were already unpopulated, warehouses would be completely vacant of anyone if not for a small handful of security staff. Warehouses are completely automated and highly guarded facilities as they contain massive amounts of valuable and flammable material.
"Loitering is a crime punishable by death" - Station Announcements

Pilot's Market
The pilot’s market is best described as a tourist trap for pilots. Every person who’s not a pilot is trying to guile a pilot to part with their credits.

"The station administrators would like to remind all pilots that transactions in the pilot’s market are not protected by Citi Gateway or The Bank of Zaonce" - station announcements

General Roleplay Etiquette:

1. Control only the actions of your own character(s). (AKA: God Mode)
This doesn't matter how small the action is, even if it is as simple as scratching their nose or a direct reaction to something else that just happened. This applies to everything from casual conversation to full blown fight scenes. If you'd like someone to do something specific, PM that person, however keep in mind they are completely within their rights to say no. Especially if said action is inappropriate to their character and/or circumstance.

2. Don't brute force your way into another persons RP.
Approaching with a conversation starter is fine, or indeed some other small action. However charging in, guns blazing and disrupting the flow of another person/pair/groups conversation/arc is about as rude as doing so in real life. If something is going on that you'd like to participate in, be subtle about it. Put out a gentle hook for someone to take, but again, be aware that said hook may not be taken. If you fear it was simply unnoticed, PM the person or people it concerns. Or even leave a message in the OOC forums.

3. Good grammar and spelling is preferred.
We're not asking you to be perfect, but please at least demonstrate willingness. no1 iz gna tak u srsly usng txt spk. There's a wide variety of people here, many who speak English as a second, or even third language. There are even some with varying degrees of dyslexia and/or likely other issues that affect spelling/grammar. We accept them all here. However, people who aren't accepted, are those unwilling to accept polite correction. Remember that even a small thing like the placement of a comma, or the wrong use of there/their/they're can completely change the definition of an entire sentence.

4. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and politely.
If someone spots an issue with your writings, they may wish to help you improve that writing. They may do this through PM or even publicly air their thoughts on the OOC forum. If they have taken the time to be polite and explain what is wrong with your writing, the best way to behave is to respond in kind, using the same manner they have approached you with. It means they have taken an active interest in what you have written and wish to see more. Basically, you have a fan!

5. Don't take the actions or opinions of things done IN RP, to be directly relevant to the writers thoughts or opinions.
Basically, if some ones character calls your character a jackass, it doesn't mean the writer thinks you are a jackass. It's a ROLE they are PLAYING. Watch a movie. The argument between the characters isn't an argument between the actors involved. The same applies here.

6. It's not a popularity contest.
Your RP might be bustling with participants. You have 3 people off station in a fire fight, while another 2 are infiltrating the darkest areas of the station, meanwhile a group of 4 others are tracking your movements in an effort to stop you. Good for you, I'm sure it will be a thrilling read! But you know what? Sometimes the absolute BEST work, comes from two RP characters having a simple heart to heart. Both are valid, both are great, but NEITHER is categorically better than the other. Period.

Inara RP Etiquette:

1. Respect the setting and rules of the universe.
Inara is an Elite: Dangerous 3rd Party Tool. The RP Forums are set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Elite: Dangerous has rules, as any fictional universe does from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, or Game of Thrones to Star Trek. If you intend to RP within the Elite: Dangerous universe you are bound by the history and rules of that universe. Simply put, this RP forum is bound by the same rules as the game, so if it can't be done in the game, it is not permitted here. This applies to things from a 50Ly Jump Range on a normal, unmodified Sidewinder, to the destruction of entire stations.

2. Respect the characters created by others.
We have a wide variety of characters already here. It's expected that some will be similar, just as it's expected that two characters will be vastly different. Opinions of each persons character will naturally be varied, but all are valid provided they follow the rules of the universe. You are allowed to interact with, or avoid interaction with, any character in the RP forums. But you have no right to belittle others for their creation. You are not an authority figure on writing, nor are you directly affected by another persons imagination. You might not like it, but you MUST respect it.

3. Be caught up on current events before joining in.
You need basic things like character descriptions in order to interact with them. You also need to know what's going on in the surrounding areas. This is simply because the people you are hoping to RP with, might be gearing up to something that you might not want to be part of. Or simply that the most recent post, out of context, could leave a different impression on the goings on than if you gather that context. We don't expect you to read every single post from the beginning of the forums, just enough to get that basic understanding.

4. Either subscribe to, or frequently check, the Roleplay: Q&A and OOC forum.
People may be discussing something relevant to you there, or even discussing you directly. Perhaps someone asked what the general consensus on the existence or non-existence of a certain object. Or we're just chatting about random gibberish. Either way, be aware of it and use it. If you're unsure about something, such as how guns would look and or behave, or even the music selection, use the OOC forum to ask. We don't have all of the answers, but the collective knowledge and logic usually allows us to overcome an issue and come to a decision on what should be allowed. Frontier Developments, and even David Braben himself, don't have the answers to every possible question that can be asked.

5. Large Scale events exploding out of nowhere are a complete no go.
We get it. Everyone wants their character to be noticed and for people to be tripping over themselves to interact with them. In some audiences, an introduction involving you blasting in for landing in a fiery wreckage of a ship, before cart wheeling out and sword fighting 35 Ninjas before whisking off with the local celebrity for a glorious night of passion, is in fact, cool. This is not one of those audiences. It is generally considered better to build your character up slowly over time. Eventually, you might even have a legitimate excuse to fight those Ninjas. Maybe even with other RP participants by your side.

6. Perfect characters are boring.
The point of a character arc, is that it is in fact, an arc shape. One who is morally unquestionable, fully kitted out and an infinite fountain of knowledge, cannot go through an arc. Give your character flaws. Be it a tendency towards befriending the wrong people, or a bad knee that frequently gives out at inopportune moments. It gives readers something to latch onto and empathise with. You can give your character exceptional capabilities at something, but it requires balance. She's a damn good pilot with no equal, but can't drive an SRV for peanuts. It can lead to some very interesting moments between characters, be it heartfelt or comedic.

Other Notes:
It should be noted that there can be exceptions to these points. For example, good grammar when a character is speaking is actually rare. Few people in real life actually speak with perfect eloquence after all. Or previously arranged actions during a fight scene, such as someone stumbling back after a punch. What's key to remember is context.

All in all, remember this is purely for fun. We have some seriously talented writers here, and others whose writing history starts and ends at high school. But many are willing to help out in whatever way they can. All it takes is that you ask nicely.

Also keep in mind that many people who RP here, also have logbook stories related to the character, or characters, they portray. If it looks like there's an "in joke" going on that you're unsure of, it's probably in those.

In fact, some users have even gone to the trouble of creating "alts" to RP with. If you read back far enough, it's usually pretty clear who has and hasn't, and which ones are the "alts". It's therefore not unheard of to see the apparent seizing of control of other characters. If you do spot one, point it out in the OOC section. If intervention is needed, it will be sorted quickly and (hopefully) politely.

Most, if not all RP participants here have Logbook stories pertaining to their character(s). These are for the reading pleasure of anyone who wishes to do so. While it can be useful to read them in order to gain a bit of backstory on a character you wish to interact with, it should not be assumed that your character shares that knowledge. Within the E:D Universe, these Logbooks either don't exist, or are private diaries kept by the characters. Either way, without explicit statements to say otherwise from the writer, your interactions should reflect that your character is in the dark about any information you, the writer/reader, have gained from reading the stories.

DJ Void"Call me Void."

Aleks glanced down at the mans hand and back up to his dark tinted helmet.

"Alright, Void." He said with a slight nod, leaving Void with his had still extended and no real introduction of his own.

Aleks relaxed a bit and turned back towards the crowd of people.

"You share the same story as countless other people out here. It's sad to say, but loss has become a bit of a cliche these days." He said as he scanned around the crowd looking for no one in particular.

"That's not to discredit your loss by any means. I'm sure it was deeply tragic but it's something that happens all too often and you either get used to it or you get out of the game before someone takes you out of the game."

Aleks never was a particularly empathetic person, which would explain how he does what he does with a such clear conscience. "It's just business." and with Aleks it was always "just business". He'd helped others in the past but only if it furthered his own goals.

Aleks fell quite for a moment before briefly glancing at Void and patting his holster.

"Good eye though."

Void glanced down at his hand, only nodding in return and taking his hand back. As the man continued to speak, he shrugged a bit, trying to form sentences in his head before speaking. It was always nice to have an intelligent conversation with someone without a good martial arts match to undertone it. "Losses are a token of a pilot's life, as it were, and as everything is with us. It only comes with the job." He lightly tapped on the glass with the knuckle of his middle finger, eluding to his face, "If anything, you could say my whole career as a pilot has been marred with cliches."

Void tapped at his knee with his finger. "I suppose I more enjoy the title for the memories it has given and will give me. Being a fleet pilot was fun, sure. Metal titans clashing among celestial bodies were be viewed as something only gods were capable of to our ancient ancestors. It's... humbling. But loss, scars, pain, and fear... it reminds us that we aren't gods... that we're still painfully.... human."

Void took a glance at the man he spoke with while he observed the crowd. Different walks of life would always intersect. No two paths were ever the same, and no two minds would ever think alike. That was the glory of human interaction. However, certain things would always become apparent between interactions, and the withdraw he saw painted on the man's face was... telling. He knew that look from her face. It was a look of apathy. What Void saw as humbling, the man saw as a drawback... a bump in the road he chose to drive down. It was a horrific feat to try to see the roadbump for what it was. It had taken him years to convince her of anything different. after her death, he had felt that he wasted all of his time clashing with her rather than consoling her. It was one of his deepest regrets.

Aleks Rez

Aleks fell quite for a moment before briefly glancing at Void and patting his holster.

"Good eye though."

Void chuckled a bit. "I have quite a relationship with kinetics. You should see the armory locker on my Challenger."

He reached down to his holster, pushing down on two buttons to either side of it to undo the electromagnets that held it to his thigh. He brandished the weapon, holding his palm open for a full view of the back half of the weapon, the other half, of course still resting in the holster. "This was a gift from my old co-pilot after our first freelance mission together. If anyone knew their kinetic weapons, it was her. Quite the surprise from an Imperial, if you ask me."

It was an all black finish, resembling a very old pistol design from the early 2000's. The grip was a deep burgundy color, the federal seal and the imperial eagle detailed in a column with eachother and painted black. It was quite an intricate design, and Void had laughed at it when he first received it from her, but it had grown on him as time passed. Now it was his sidearm of choice amidst even the more state-of-the-art kinetic firearms in his possession. He gave a moment for it to be absorbed before he replaced it back on his thigh, and began observing the station dwellers. a few more moments of slience passed before he let out a sigh. "Funny how when that pad was engulfed in flames, they were frightened, and now they scurry over as if nothing happened. I'll take my cliches over that any day."

Aleks responded with a nod.

"A ship exploding, two people murdered while in security custody, and this lock down making it difficult to leave the station. Someone is clearly benefiting from the chaos that's ensued here."

He couldn't help but think about the situation from this angle. It eerily resembles something that he would have done. It felt a bit strange being an onlooker now.

"A sleight of hand." said Aleks as he pulled his slate back out to check if there was any word on when his flight would be cleared to leave the station.

Nerys Nymei
Amata LireinAmata looked at the door that Creamy left through. "Wow. With that reckless attitude I'm not surprised that he got beaten up that badly. It's actually a miracle he hasn't gotten himself killed by now." She looked at Nerys. "Let me guess: This wasn't the first time you had to patch him up?"

Nerys still looked at the empty door for a couple of seconds, then Amata's words slowly filtered into her consciousness.

"Well..." She turned towards the blue-haired girl. "No... actually no, but probably only because I haven't known him for a long time... but in the few days spent together we managed to get involved in two gunfights and an attempted interdiction".

She sighed. "Although" she added quickly "this latter event is not his fault".

Amata nodded. "Very well, you can fill us in on the details once we're off the station." She then looked at Jason. "So, what we gonna do about this guy? His recklessness could get us all killed, not just him."

"A sleight of hand, no doubt, and a well-planned one, to boot," he thought for a moment. Two murdered in security custody? Those must have been involved with Jason's debacle rather than the hauler. "However, killing people right under the nose of the security forces is no small feat, and not easy to pull of for common criminals with a grudge to hold... the rabbit hole this entire event has birthed must go quite deep."

He shrugged, "It's no secret there's corruption everywhere. Whoever they angered must have quite a vendetta against them. Putting an entire station under lockdown requires a few strings to pull," he laughed, "Good luck to them, I suppose. I sparred with one of the ones I thought to be involved when I was searching for answers. The hauler exploded next to my ship, and I took it as a personal threat. That experience I had with her was enough to show me they can handle themselves, but the books are stacked against them."

He rubbed a hand on the back of his neck. "Overall, it seems quite troublesome. It makes for an interesting story at least, I suppose."

It had only been a short time since Ao had left instructions with Tiberius to contact Director Callaghan, moments after receiving the order a high speed courier had been dispatched to the Marrallang System and returned with with a phoney extradition order signed by imperial officials who owed the BWSF favours back home, this had allowed the lockdown on the Star-Wolf to be lifted, and the Yamato-II to dock with the gateway.
Now the only problem was finding Ao, under the pretence of placing him under arrest, they would then extract him, and if they were willing, the group he was with from the station.
Rose, had no combat training, but had insisted on being present on the extraction team, headed by Tiberius.

The team consisted of four people;
Tiberius
Rose
Dutch Grahm, commander of the Yamato-II's marine detachment,
and a female marine Rose could not remember the name of.

All three were dressed in BWSF marine fatigues, solid navy blue, with the BWSF logo on each shoulder, navy blue caps, and a basic black plate carrier with pockets filled with first aid items, spare ammo and tools, and BWSF in bold white letters stencilled on the back

Rose had been armed with a small handgun, and given a brief rundown on how to use it during the short transit from the Star-Wolf, the rest however were armed more heavily, with heavy automatic rifles chambered in kinetic ammunition.
Who-ever had killed the two men in custody had someone in station security, and the extraction team were taking no chances.

Their first lead was Alex's shop...but the sight that greeted them, made Rose double over in horror;
Her sister's workshop, was a smoking, bullet riddled ruin.
Station security checked their Id's and called in their presence before allowing them access to the scene.

There were two bodies;
one was an armoured figure, their gender hidden by the armour and blacked out visor, it's head twisted at an odd angle, the neck clearly broken...the other...

Rose fell to her knees and howled in anguish, her sister's blank stare gazed up at the ceiling of the shop.
Growing up the two had been inseparable, having lost her father when the Yamato went down, and not being able to remember her mother, Alex had been Rose's last living relative.

Tiberius knelt beside her and whispered;
"He's not here Rose...I'm...I'm sorry about Alex"

Rose gently ran her hand over her sister's eyes, closing them before asking through the sobs;
"Did we...did we get any leads..."

Tiberius clenched his fists;
"No...we have no idea where Ao and the people he was with went from here...but we have a bigger problem"

Rose looked up at Tiberius, who even when kneeling made most men and women look tiny
"I recognise the armour..." Tiberius continued...
"It's an Arquette Family Guard Battlesuit ..."

Fear ran across Rose's face...
"No, not him! Anyone but him!"

Tiberius gritted his teeth;
"We need to find them! and fast!"

Aleks was half listening to what Void was saying as he checked the flight plans. The look on his face as he slid the slate back into his jacket pocket said it all. He would be stuck here a while.

DJ VoidHe rubbed a hand on the back of his neck. "Overall, it seems quite troublesome. It makes for an interesting story at least, I suppose."

Aleks sighed as he turned and saw Void rubbing the back of his neck.

"Wait a second. Did you say you sparred with one of these people? How well do you know them?"

It was a long shot but Aleks knew that these people would be trying to leave the station ASAP and funny enough, that's exactly what he wanted too. Perhaps this Mr. Void would be useful after all.

"Wait a second. Did you say you sparred with one of these people? How well do you know them?"

Void huffed. "Three individuals I know, but more possibly in the party. Imperials. The one I sparred with: Female, average height and build, with knowledge of basic imperial mixed martial arts. I believe they called her Amata, but I never asked. She's quite a combatant. The two others, both male. One: Jason Frimantle. average height, stocky build. He leveled a revolver at me that was a short-barrel chambered in a large caliber as well as its holster at the small of his back, so he has knowledge in small arms at least, but I believe it would be safe to assume he has knowledge in combat arms and mixed martial arts as well. He was very well spoken, and they followed him closely; he's quite obviously the leader of the group. Large tattoo of a stylized imperial symbol on his right shoulder. The other I know little to nothing about, but his appearance and the way he carried himself tells me he is involved in paramilitary operations, possibly as a lead. His involvement in all of it is confusing to me, but alas, its what I observed."

He shook his head again. "Sorry for the information dump. You asked, I answered." He looked at the screen on his forearm again. "I gave Jason my contact information, but he hasn't used it yet. I wasn't very... open with them, so they probably don't trust me at all. I don't think I would be crazy to think they are choosing to avoid me. I mean... I may not be with them anymore, but I served with the Federation, and that isn't necessarily a good thing for them. I may have been involved with an Imperial, but that means nothing to their kind."

He looked up, past the crowd and at the mailslot. "Honestly, I thought it better if I were to just leave, myself. I'd probably only get in the way, anyway," a sigh escaped him, "I don't really know why I haven't left yet... my ship is repaired and refueled... I guess I'm just wasting time."

Aleks took a deep breath and nodded slowly. This was the problem with trying to work with others. People love to talk about their experiences.

"Right. People love to hate the other "team" don't they? I personally never saw a reason to align myself with any one side."

Aleks tried his best to give Void a warm smile.

"If somebody wants to kill me, it'll be because of something I chose to do and not something I was told to do by some higher ranking prick in an arm chair that enjoys stroking his own ego by forcing others to do his dirty work. No, they'll hate me for me and not for reasons instilled within them by others."

He looked back down at his slate and refreshed the news feed.

"My name is Aleks, by the way." He said, tilting his head a bit towards Void.

Aleks tapped on a new video that appeared and tapped his earpiece so he could hear the commentary.

"A man wanted for questioning today was recently spotted in this rather bizarre video thrusting at a maintenance hatch while babbling about wearing another man's trousers. Let's take a look."

And to Aleks' surprise, the video displayed just that. A man with questionable fashion swinging his hips at a maintenance hatch while an older gentleman could be heard giggling in the background.

"The man seen here has been identified as Creamy Goodness III." The video froze and zoomed in on Creamy's face at what appeared to be the worst possible moment they could have chosen to zoom in on. Mid blink, tongue out, makeshift bandanna flailing. It was anything but flattering.

Aleks' shook his head. After Void's description, he was expecting all of these people to be at least somewhat competent, but this one was clearly...different.

He hated to admit it but now he was even more intrigued by this whole situation than he was before.

We go after him, maybe we catch up and maybe we don't, but either way we'll most likely end up dead or in a station holding cell. The math says no."

Ao shugged his coat back into place and dumped the now empty bag in the corner of the room, and proceeded to fasten the last strap on the boots of the new armour Alex had designed for him.
"It's settled then, we should leave as soon as possible, fastest way back to the yards is the maglevs, once we are clear of the station I can relay orders back to the Wolf to monitor the stations network, if Creamy gets picked up by security, they'll send a team in to pull him out, security are looking for a group so we should keep a few seconds apart, I'll take point, Jason, you should cover our rear, Amata, stick to Nerys like glue, if shit hits the fan me and Jason will keep anything that comes our way occupied while you get Nerys out, let's move."
Ao stepped back out into the corridor intent on leading the way to the maglev station, filling his pipe with tobacco as he went and looked back at the group...

Void nodded along with the man, understanding his statement. He had a point. When Void left the Federation and started doing bounty contracts, it made him feel free. No one left his grasp, Federal or Imperial. He never took on the petty criminals, only the worst of the worst. It had finally felt like he was doing what he had signed on to do: deliver unanswered justice for the innocents that were wronged. Evil was evil, but being a military pilot wasn't without its own evils. When he had met her, the time he had spent with her made him understand that wanting to do what was right wasn't a limited thing, but something everyone could seek. Her death had been devastating, but maybe.... it wasn't the end of it. There was a deeply rooted criminal orginisation here, so still work to be done, and hell would come before either Void died, or the offenders were either dead or in a cell rotting.

At the sound of his name, He nodded at Aleks, "Well met, friend."

"That wasn't one of the one's I met, I can assure you." He thought to himself for a moment before making an internal decision and raising his forearm. He tapped away at it for a moment. "Archer."

"Yes, Commander," He quipped back.

"Call for a delivery of the Shock and Awe to this station."

"Yes, Commander. The estimated time to delivery is fifteen minutes."

"Thank you, Archer."

Void stood once more, a new energy making him stand tall. "Well, Aleks... it appears I have... unfinished business at this station now, but I can't do it alone," He typed at the screen and slid the window to the right. A seven digit number appeared on Alek's slate, "I know it's sudden, and you have no reason to accept it. Consider that a gift for your time."

He tapped one final button on his screen before dropping his arm and placing his hands on his hips, watching as the docking pad to their two o' clock bustled to life, and Void's ship, an Alliance Challenger dubbed 'The Resolute,' appeared, "I can't guarantee much on this. I think, with how tight this station is locked, there's more than likely some private military or some similar form involved, and I'll require a few more... tools from my personal armory. Aside from this, I can guarantee passage anywhere in the bubble after this, perhaps even a stable amount of pay for an extra pair of hands on deck, if you so choose. If not, those credits will pay for a nice and shiny new ride out of here for yourself. Either way, I'm staying. I may not have been involved, but there's corruption about here that needs rooting."

He stood there for a moment, the spotlights dancing around the docks giving Void a powerful silhouette. He crossed his arms and pointed his chin down at Aleks to look him directly in the eye (though he wouldn't see it)," What do you say?"

Aleks raised an eyebrow as Void stood holding what must have seemed like quite the heroic pose to Void.

"This kid is going to fuck around and cause this lock down to be extended." He thought to himself.

Aleks stood up and calmly raised a finger up between Void and himself before pointing at Void.

"What exactly are you planning on doing here? Because if you're about to go off on some kind of power trip or try and play hero or something, I can assure you it will not end here. Decisions like this lead to mistakes and these kind of mistakes will follow you for the rest of your life."

Aleks noticed he'd basically been talking to a reflection of himself in Void's helmet at this point. A better person would probably see some deeper meaning in this but Aleks just took note that his beard could do with a trim.

"Wait, did he mention something about credits?!" His subconscious screamed.

Aleks shook his head.

"Hold on, back up, how many credits are we talking here?"

Void couldn't help but smile. "Maybe this will help ease your mind." He knocked on his shoulder, and the panel of the pad covering it came loose. Upon removal, it revealed a seal.

"I wasn't just your run-of-the-mill pilot. I worked out of Wolf 287 as a Wet-Worker for Adnovi Security Holdings, as well as running joint black-ops with the Earth Defense Fleet based in Okinura. While the fodder fought, I cut the head off the viper. I'm no rookie. I won't run in guns-blazing until I know who it's blazing at. You can trust that I know my work." He replaced the panel, covering the seal up again. "Decisions like this will cause mistakes, sure, but what's a bigger mistake: fighting the good fight, or continuing to let people suffer? Sure, I could leave... you could, too... but who is to say that more people won't suffer and die? Call me a fool, but I've made enough mistakes to cover a lifetime or two. Blood is already on my hands... why not add a few more shades of red?"

Void looked down for a moment... then back up at Aleks. "You didn't think I was calling myself Void for an edgy teenage nickname, right? It was my code-name. It just stuck after I retired."

Void couldn't help but throw his head back and laugh, "An opportunist... I like that." He thought for a moment, "This job? Eight digits. If you want to be my partner? 7 annually, with those eight thrown in as a bonus. Oh, and don't worry... if this job goes fine, anything we find that could be... "lifted" without anyone noticing we'll split 25-75 for your convenience... and this will carry over to any other job we do." Void's voice grew tense, "But there is one condition. We only harm criminals. We only kill criminals. We may be hunting the corrupt on our on volition, but the innocents stay innocent. There's no such thing as 'acceptable casualties' on my watch."

Void held out a hand, "List your conditions if you have them, but the job listing is on the table. Are you in?"
