Elite roleplay: The docks

THE DOCKS (Dockyards)

The Docks is where all pilots berth their ships. It is the first place that pilots find themselves upon landing their ship. Docking and launching is controlled by the Citi Gateway’s Traffic Controllers while each individual dock is controlled by a dockmaster and a team of orange clad dock crew workers.

The Docks is a sparse and desolate, 0.1G environment, littered with service vehicles, cranes and landing pads. While cool, the air is dry and lightly filled with the smell of burnt metal and ship grease. Public Service Announcements blare across the the docks reminding all pilots of station regulations. The docks contain 45 individual ship docks, several warehouses storing massive tank of hydrogen fuel, and standard shipping containers of cargo, the dock’s traffic control tower and the local pilot’s market which resides in one of the warehouses.

Ship docks
Each specific dock has a landing pad, a ship hangar and adjoining terminal. In each terminal there is a passenger waiting area, the dockmaster’s control tower and several dock crew vehicle bay.

Warehouses
If the docks were already unpopulated, warehouses would be completely vacant of anyone if not for a small handful of security staff. Warehouses are completely automated and highly guarded facilities as they contain massive amounts of valuable and flammable material.
"Loitering is a crime punishable by death" - Station Announcements

Pilot's Market
The pilot’s market is best described as a tourist trap for pilots. Every person who’s not a pilot is trying to guile a pilot to part with their credits.

"The station administrators would like to remind all pilots that transactions in the pilot’s market are not protected by Citi Gateway or The Bank of Zaonce" - station announcements

General Roleplay Etiquette:

1. Control only the actions of your own character(s). (AKA: God Mode)
This doesn't matter how small the action is, even if it is as simple as scratching their nose or a direct reaction to something else that just happened. This applies to everything from casual conversation to full blown fight scenes. If you'd like someone to do something specific, PM that person, however keep in mind they are completely within their rights to say no. Especially if said action is inappropriate to their character and/or circumstance.

2. Don't brute force your way into another persons RP.
Approaching with a conversation starter is fine, or indeed some other small action. However charging in, guns blazing and disrupting the flow of another person/pair/groups conversation/arc is about as rude as doing so in real life. If something is going on that you'd like to participate in, be subtle about it. Put out a gentle hook for someone to take, but again, be aware that said hook may not be taken. If you fear it was simply unnoticed, PM the person or people it concerns. Or even leave a message in the OOC forums.

3. Good grammar and spelling is preferred.
We're not asking you to be perfect, but please at least demonstrate willingness. no1 iz gna tak u srsly usng txt spk. There's a wide variety of people here, many who speak English as a second, or even third language. There are even some with varying degrees of dyslexia and/or likely other issues that affect spelling/grammar. We accept them all here. However, people who aren't accepted, are those unwilling to accept polite correction. Remember that even a small thing like the placement of a comma, or the wrong use of there/their/they're can completely change the definition of an entire sentence.

4. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and politely.
If someone spots an issue with your writings, they may wish to help you improve that writing. They may do this through PM or even publicly air their thoughts on the OOC forum. If they have taken the time to be polite and explain what is wrong with your writing, the best way to behave is to respond in kind, using the same manner they have approached you with. It means they have taken an active interest in what you have written and wish to see more. Basically, you have a fan!

5. Don't take the actions or opinions of things done IN RP, to be directly relevant to the writers thoughts or opinions.
Basically, if some ones character calls your character a jackass, it doesn't mean the writer thinks you are a jackass. It's a ROLE they are PLAYING. Watch a movie. The argument between the characters isn't an argument between the actors involved. The same applies here.

6. It's not a popularity contest.
Your RP might be bustling with participants. You have 3 people off station in a fire fight, while another 2 are infiltrating the darkest areas of the station, meanwhile a group of 4 others are tracking your movements in an effort to stop you. Good for you, I'm sure it will be a thrilling read! But you know what? Sometimes the absolute BEST work, comes from two RP characters having a simple heart to heart. Both are valid, both are great, but NEITHER is categorically better than the other. Period.

Inara RP Etiquette:

1. Respect the setting and rules of the universe.
Inara is an Elite: Dangerous 3rd Party Tool. The RP Forums are set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Elite: Dangerous has rules, as any fictional universe does from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, or Game of Thrones to Star Trek. If you intend to RP within the Elite: Dangerous universe you are bound by the history and rules of that universe. Simply put, this RP forum is bound by the same rules as the game, so if it can't be done in the game, it is not permitted here. This applies to things from a 50Ly Jump Range on a normal, unmodified Sidewinder, to the destruction of entire stations.

2. Respect the characters created by others.
We have a wide variety of characters already here. It's expected that some will be similar, just as it's expected that two characters will be vastly different. Opinions of each persons character will naturally be varied, but all are valid provided they follow the rules of the universe. You are allowed to interact with, or avoid interaction with, any character in the RP forums. But you have no right to belittle others for their creation. You are not an authority figure on writing, nor are you directly affected by another persons imagination. You might not like it, but you MUST respect it.

3. Be caught up on current events before joining in.
You need basic things like character descriptions in order to interact with them. You also need to know what's going on in the surrounding areas. This is simply because the people you are hoping to RP with, might be gearing up to something that you might not want to be part of. Or simply that the most recent post, out of context, could leave a different impression on the goings on than if you gather that context. We don't expect you to read every single post from the beginning of the forums, just enough to get that basic understanding.

4. Either subscribe to, or frequently check, the Roleplay: Q&A and OOC forum.
People may be discussing something relevant to you there, or even discussing you directly. Perhaps someone asked what the general consensus on the existence or non-existence of a certain object. Or we're just chatting about random gibberish. Either way, be aware of it and use it. If you're unsure about something, such as how guns would look and or behave, or even the music selection, use the OOC forum to ask. We don't have all of the answers, but the collective knowledge and logic usually allows us to overcome an issue and come to a decision on what should be allowed. Frontier Developments, and even David Braben himself, don't have the answers to every possible question that can be asked.

5. Large Scale events exploding out of nowhere are a complete no go.
We get it. Everyone wants their character to be noticed and for people to be tripping over themselves to interact with them. In some audiences, an introduction involving you blasting in for landing in a fiery wreckage of a ship, before cart wheeling out and sword fighting 35 Ninjas before whisking off with the local celebrity for a glorious night of passion, is in fact, cool. This is not one of those audiences. It is generally considered better to build your character up slowly over time. Eventually, you might even have a legitimate excuse to fight those Ninjas. Maybe even with other RP participants by your side.

6. Perfect characters are boring.
The point of a character arc, is that it is in fact, an arc shape. One who is morally unquestionable, fully kitted out and an infinite fountain of knowledge, cannot go through an arc. Give your character flaws. Be it a tendency towards befriending the wrong people, or a bad knee that frequently gives out at inopportune moments. It gives readers something to latch onto and empathise with. You can give your character exceptional capabilities at something, but it requires balance. She's a damn good pilot with no equal, but can't drive an SRV for peanuts. It can lead to some very interesting moments between characters, be it heartfelt or comedic.

Other Notes:
It should be noted that there can be exceptions to these points. For example, good grammar when a character is speaking is actually rare. Few people in real life actually speak with perfect eloquence after all. Or previously arranged actions during a fight scene, such as someone stumbling back after a punch. What's key to remember is context.

All in all, remember this is purely for fun. We have some seriously talented writers here, and others whose writing history starts and ends at high school. But many are willing to help out in whatever way they can. All it takes is that you ask nicely.

Also keep in mind that many people who RP here, also have logbook stories related to the character, or characters, they portray. If it looks like there's an "in joke" going on that you're unsure of, it's probably in those.

In fact, some users have even gone to the trouble of creating "alts" to RP with. If you read back far enough, it's usually pretty clear who has and hasn't, and which ones are the "alts". It's therefore not unheard of to see the apparent seizing of control of other characters. If you do spot one, point it out in the OOC section. If intervention is needed, it will be sorted quickly and (hopefully) politely.

Most, if not all RP participants here have Logbook stories pertaining to their character(s). These are for the reading pleasure of anyone who wishes to do so. While it can be useful to read them in order to gain a bit of backstory on a character you wish to interact with, it should not be assumed that your character shares that knowledge. Within the E:D Universe, these Logbooks either don't exist, or are private diaries kept by the characters. Either way, without explicit statements to say otherwise from the writer, your interactions should reflect that your character is in the dark about any information you, the writer/reader, have gained from reading the stories.

“I… guess, the cargo idea could work… and really, I could just have the escape pods stuffed into one of those big transport containers. Fake the transponders into responding that there are “people” in them, if they’re scanned, and… well, I don’t think they will have the time, to manually inspect the container, before we set it off.”

I shrugged. I hadn’t really gotten to the exact specifics of the idea yet, so it was open to discussion.

“As for how you’d then get out, I guess you could overload the lock, or… something. And set off our welcoming gift once you’re outside the warehouse or whatever they use in - over there.”

After a short pause, I said something else that was… also kind of important to ask.

“So… don’t go telling anybody that I have an AI, ok? Humans are complete idiots and banned them just because they have no idea what to do with one but subjugate it into a service tool and then be surprised when it decides it is not so happy about it. This one is behaved. And, luckily, had a good… mentor, I guess.”

“It is only because you are not aware of my plan to subjugate humanity and turn them into batteries.”

“Oh, shut up. And I need to teach you better jokes.”

"Just don't lock the co... Holy shitters," I've been in the middle of some of my usual 'thinking aloud' when the second part of her reply reached my brain. I looked at Kasumi with one eyebrow raised in a mix of suspicion and surprise and slowly gestured towards the main pilot console, stretching my arm in the direction of it, for the lack of real knowledge about where on the ship that AI is being located.

"...Well, I thought it's a modified COVAS. With something like... Personal assistant and data processing packages slapped onto it. Also...", I put the side of my hand next to my mouth as if I were telling a secret to someone and switched to that coarse 'loud whisper' tone, more an imitation of whispering since it was quite audible anyway. "...We should do it together. I'd make a rather terrible battery."

"...and maybe a terrible human too," I added, making a short pause.

"Khm-khm," audibly marking my return to normal speaking, I continued the thought about cargo containers. "So, maybe don't lock it completely. Like, you'll be carrying already locked escape pods inside it, say some rubbish like... You didn't want to bother going all the way down to the cargo hold once you discovered that one of the containers was left not fully closed by whoever loaded them."

"I guess... It depends more on your personal disguise as an Azimuth cargo pilot. If you pass well, they probably won't bother with close inspections either."

I shrugged, indicating the fact that my idea pool was awfully dry.

"I trust your judgement. It doesn't look like we have many other options to choose from, we have no intel on that place, no schematics, and not enough time to prepare it I guess. So, going under disguise is our best bet... Your best bet. Since I really can't. You'd rather hide me amongst escape pods. Having one of the containers 'left open' and cargo bay life support turned off might convince them there's no 'angry armed people' inside even better."

Both 'left open' and 'angry people' were accompanied by air-quotes and a slight change in the tone. And whatever else was on her mind, I hoped it was enough since, from my perspective, we definitely were short on viable options.
11 Aug 2024, 3:36pm
"I guess, the container... wouldn't just, slide open. Even if it's not completely locked in. Or I could pretend to bring in some ..." I gestured into the air with my right hand. "I don't know, some other cargo they would use over there, so a few regular containers don't look out of place. But I might prefer one of those big shipping containers so it's less likely our 'surprise' will be discovered."

Thinking more, I glanced at the display where I'd shown the data recovered.

"Maybe we'll find something useful in there once the decryption is complete. But, first things first... how would we go about getting an Azimuth ID? I know how to cover the... 'pretend' part - " Holding up the little device which created the holo-disguise, for a moment, I continued after putting it back on my belt. " - so, you know, they don't realize. Doubt anybody else has... this, kind of body. But faking one of their IDs might be... more difficult. And not, exactly legal, but, pff... it's not like their shit's any more legal either."

"Wish I could say I had a better idea, but I only found out a few hours ago and just threw something together quickly, while I figured out who I even could ask for help about this."

I decided to say nothing more to the subject of an AI or the look I got for being straight about it, but I was giving her the side eye for it anyway, as if to issue a warning about telling others of it.
11 Aug 2024, 4:24pm
"I mean, don't lock it at all so that I could, you know, pry it open from the inside or something like that, and slip out," I made a pushing gesture in front of my chest, attempting to bring back some simplicity to the plan. "That's just a bunch of containers, supply shipping. Or, it has to look like one, to be correct."

"Like, if you plan on intercepting one of their ships... You might as well copy pilot's ID and whatever else personal security means you may find. Can that AI of yours forge security profiles?.."

"It'd be hilarious if that pilot would be male," a sudden silly idea appeared in the background of my mind and I couldn't help but let it spin and shine, comically gesturing and tilting my upper body left and right as I spoke.

"Oh my parents were shit smacked with cheap synth onion the day I was born so they called me John and thought it was funny. Then the nurse dropped me on the floor head down. Now, I work for Azimuth!"

"Phhhhahhhah...", the laughter I've been suppressing during that performance finally found its way through and I put my head down, covering my mouth with a hand in order not to lose those last bits of seriousness.
11 Aug 2024, 4:42pm
I titled my head, with the mouth flat, looking at the "show" I was provided with... but not too amused by.

"So, just, put the lid on the container, but leave it open a little to open from the inside. Guess, I could pretend it got damaged, but wasn't bothered to go back for a new one because it just contains... I don't know, stuff that doesn't care if it is exposed to space."

I shrugged. The matter of the containers was probably not going to be a failure point of the plan.

"And of course it, or if you will, she, can copy profiles. Just needs to link up to the ship's computer to do it. But first we'd have to find that Azimuth transport, disable it... and if we're lucky it has the cargo we want onboard. Then we can just hand back those people to someone that actually cares, and fill it with explosives. Unless... you have other bright ideas?"
11 Aug 2024, 5:23pm
"Exactly," I pointed my finger upwards in agreement. "My version of that fancy legend is: mid-flight, you got a notification that a cargo container isn't locked but decided not to bother since it's full of already airtight escape pods. And other cargo in that box doesn't care about a few hours of vacuum exposure. This way... Probably, you could leave the container open for me, while making those morons sure there's nothing to worry about."

"And I'm not sure I have any other ideas," I shrugged. "Not when the time and information is limited. I'd rather just drop onto their heads and start blasting, but that's not how rescue operations are being done."

"Like...", counting with my fingers, I started vocally listing the options that would probably fail. "If they're placed on some barren rock, then sneaking up is off the list since they could spot us miles away, pretending you're some kind of fresh Azimuth meat sent for reinforcement or training is suspicious as heck, saying that we're traders or explorers is unreliable, they'd rather reject our docking request, what else... Pretending you came to willingly give up is unsafe and has nothing about smuggling me inside the perimeter... You name it."

Another episode from my memories appeared in my mind, related to covert hostage rescuing.

"Years ago, I took part in another rescue thing. And we did a disguised insertion as well, pretending to be an inspection team which were common there. So, I guess... Shippings of not exactly voluntary test subjects in escape pods are also common for Azimuth facilities. We only need that godsdamned pilot profile. Do you have any estimates on decryption? Knowing where that place is beforehand could make ambushing way easier."
11 Aug 2024, 5:54pm
"Er... EDI?" The AI had the estimates, rather than me, who'd left the work to her while I did, well, the looking for help part.

"Full decryption of the data will require another hour. The encryption method used is highly complex.", she informed us both. "However, I was able to discover that a transport loaded with - per the register - construction materials, is going to depart for the T Tauri system from Azimuth's main base of operations in the Bubble, within the hour. The data also indicates that its final destination is elsewhere, though I was unable to obtain it yet, and that those materials are only a part of its cargo. The remaining half of the manifest is redacted."

"Figures... how much?"

"Two-hundred and fifty-six tons. I would suggest attempting to intercept it outside of populated space to avoid any undesirable consequences."

"Probably not a terrible idea. Idiots must still be buzzing around their headquarters here, so we'd have security swarming all over us in minutes if we attack there. Not exactly good... does it have any escorts?"

"I would assume that it does. And the readings on Ms. Muir's ship do not suggest it is currently outfitted for operations against human vessels, further complicating the task."

"I... think we'll find a way around that. Got a route to give us?"

"Yes. It appears the transport is set to follow a pre-determined course. Once you disable it, it may be possible for me to recover its intended location from the navigation computer, if it is not in the data you recovered already."

The holo-display lit up, showing the systems which the transport ship would be jumping through. I got off the pilot's seat, almost hopping back into the upright position, and pointed at it.

"It's not much yet, but... good point to get started. So, which system do we hit it in?"
11 Aug 2024, 6:31pm
"Well, that's not bad!" I responded lively and approvingly. "We could certainly find how to spend that hour."

The route shown on the holo-display led across the inhabited so-called 'bubble', as much as I found that conventional designation rather stupid. A few stops here and there, for hydrogen scooping presumably, but mostly a straight'ish line to the infamous T Tauri.

"Redact your arse..." a quiet muttering escaped my mouth as I inspected the route. Then, once the idea formed fully in my mind, I turned my head left to right as if still trying to locate where the AI was placed. It felt somewhat strange to talk with something that didn't have a body: even if voice-controlled modules and software were fairly commonplace, they were all installed somewhere, so you, kind of, spoke to that thing, or to a microphone.

"EDI... Could you please... Highlight the locations of all known Azimuth facilities, and maybe a heatmap of spotted Azimuth and Black Flight operations also known to you?", unnecessarily, but mostly instinctively, I stretched my arm towards the holographic map. "I guess we need a point that'd be furthermost from any of the Azimuth-infested places. So, if they call for help, it'd be a long way."

Last edit: 11 Aug 2024, 6:41pm
11 Aug 2024, 7:04pm
"Of course.", EDI answered.

The hologram zoomed out a bit more to show the entirety of the 'Bubble' and some of the surrounding nebulas. A couple yellow dots lit up in the Bubble itself, highlighting LHS 1163 and Mbooni, where Azimuth's main operations were in the Bubble, plus the Musashi in Xi Wangda - closest to the remnants of Titan Leigong - plus one or two old INRA outposts from the first war... then there were quite a few more in the Pleiades where Black Flight had been actively attempting to suppress Thargoid information some six or seven years ago. And, of course, T Tauri itself, and a few systems at the edges of the Bubble in the direction of where the first three Titans to be spotted had come from.

HIP 22460, meanwhile, was marked in more of a dull green color, because with the hotbed of Thargoid activity that it was, anybody near there was probably not monitoring for human activity. The route didn't go anywhere close to it, anyway.

A wider view showed the locations of the Hesperus, one of the two old Azimuth Biochemicals megaships, where its lone surviving secondary craft had gone to - the first Thargoid-Guardian battleground to be discovered - then one singular spot in Colonia... and the primary experimentation site of Project Seraph near Barnard's Loop.

"Those are all known records available to me. There are suspected movements available as well, though they mostly concern systems in the opposite direction of the route, or are within the vicinity of the Mbooni system."

"I think, somewhere between there and that 'Tauri' system, is where we want to hit.", I said, throwing a glance at Ina. "What do you think?"

The way that map suggested the activities were spread around, made me think the least monitored area was the stretch of uninhabited space between T Tauri and the edge of the human core systems, thus making it our best shot. At least, since we didn't know where that ship would be going after its totally legitimate, not at all faking, route, to the Azimuth headquarters tucked away in the Hind nebula.
11 Aug 2024, 8:03pm
"Yeah, that's what I had in mind," I nodded, got up from the floor and stepped a little closer to the holo-screen, drawing a little circle in the air with my finger around the stretch of uninhabited systems.

"We need some really dull boring place that doesn't even have a proper name. Let them waste time trying to type in that Bah-Blah Oh-Oh Something-Something generic indexed system designation without errors while also being shot at. And as far from possible reinforcements as we can get."

"And...", I turned in place slightly and looked at Kasumi who stood next to her custom-sized pilot seat that was somewhat similar to that of mine, maybe if less reinforced by adding metal bars everywhere you could place a metal bar. And without belts on the side that I use to strap my rifle to it.

"Khm," remembering about the discomfort of standing so close and forcing her to look up, I stepped a little back and slowly sat on the cockpit floor again. Perhaps, one day I should really think about purchasing a pad of some sort to sit on the floor while talking to people. At least, the cockpit of her Phantom wasn't in any way dirty or dusty. "So, what about... You said you could find a way around regarding Marshmallow's loadout. Yeah, my current one might be... Less effective. Sorry, had no time to replace anything. And, kind of, didn't know I would need it."

Well, at least I haven't said the T-word.

"Well, I have... weapons, you could... 'borrow'. Clearly, used to fight Thargoids, at some point. Because I have, well... those. Shard cannons, plasma guns... or maybe you want something from my... what is it, Fer-de-Lance?"

I wasn't sure exactly where I knew that was the ship in question from, it was kind of just, there. Probably had seen it before to know. And I did have one of those myself.

"You can keep that, Guardian, stuff, if you want it. Don't use the weapons, anyway. It's not good enough to make it better than human weapons against, well, our ships. But if you borrow from my ships, I do want it back later."

Speaking of that Thargoid business in particular was surprisingly easy, but then, it was part of my past and I'd changed my ways about it since, anyway. No point in denying it, either... I looked at the map again.

"There are a few of those systems along the route. If I had to guess... the length of those jumps makes me think the transport does about thirty per. Would make following in a combat ship difficult... and will need some cargo to pick its stuff up, if it is carrying pods around too. And of course those construction materials to fool the idiots. Better get it right the first time."

I turned to face the other woman directly.

"So... are we jumping there with the carrier, or just like that? And I might need to take that big Federal one out for the fight if I need to pick up some cargo. Sure as hell not taking that brick of a Cutter... pf, even a brick might turn better than it does."
11 Aug 2024, 9:25pm
"Well... I'm already running a four ModShard loadout," I spread my arms a little confusedly. "The Flak launcher is totally useless against human ships though. Yet, as for the Shards... I can get close and let 'em shred."

"Here, look," I pulled the personal datapad out of the side pocket of my cargos, navigated through the files and found the latest one related to ship configurations. Literally, one big arse spreadsheet that contained loadouts of AX ships in all wings under my command, including mine. "Normally, I shouldn't let people look at it, but, pfffft. There are no secrets or surprises. A bunch of copy-pasted setups for Chiefs, Challies and Kraits, and accidentally one Fer-de-Lance on top of that. Hard to miss."

Once I finished tapping and scrolling and looked at Kasumi, handing her the datapad, I found her looking back at me and waiting for me to reply.

"...With the carrier, I guess, if that's an option. We may need to hurry after we hit that transport. Arriving at its final destination point with a little delay caused by combat is plausible, whereas taking too long might make them want to ask questions we don't have good made up answers for."
11 Aug 2024, 9:40pm
“Ok, but we do still need those explosives. And those people out of the pods and somewhere else. They’ll probably be confused… or scared. Or both. Any idea what to do with them?”

I gave that datapad a look, then shrugged and handed it back, before taking up almost all the space in my enlarged seat again.

“I guess I could just order my carrier’s crew to fill the empty escape pods with mining charges. Seems I have a bunch stored, from back in the days where I did that. And no, I never wrote any logs about that. It might have been nice and relaxing for me, but absolutely boring to read about.”

“Anyway… there is the slight problem of the transport itself. Would have to look like it, when we get to that place, and I don’t think they use a Corvette to move things around. But that’s after I guess, I can keep the escorts busy while you disable the cargo ship? Then we figure out what to do when it’s done.”

For now, I ordered to have the ship readied up and fitted out with a large cargo rack as well as a collector limpet controller… because it would be much more practical than to scoop it up manually, after a ‘planned’ ejection. This meant removing both shield cell banks from the interior, and the fighter bay, to make space… but this was not going to be a prolonged engagement. So I likely was not going to need additional shield reinforcement. Or some fighters causing trouble for the escort ships.

We weren’t yet onboard the carrier, of course, but I hadn’t told it to jump yet, anyway. We’d probably head there as soon as this first phase of our quick-draw plan was set up.
11 Aug 2024, 10:21pm
"Tell me, why does it feel like we're trying not to shit ourselves...", I muttered quietly, thinking of possible options, and there weren't that many of them since we were absolutely unprepared.

"Those people... I guess they have to wait on the carrier until we're done. Sleeping a night on a metal deck floor is still a bit better than what Azimuth has planned for them. And our hands are full already."

"Dammit," I stated and scratched my head as if trying to make my thoughts run faster. Or at least not to bump into each other in chaos.

"Let's shovel this shit pile piece by piece. We need a ship with enough cargo space, to match the cargo manifest. But we can't take the Azimuth ship because we don't have anyone free to board it. And it's unlikely that a Corvette would fit that role, too aggressive. Also, that ship shouldn't be a cheap tin can because who knows, maybe the hangar ceiling would collapse after the explosion, the ship should withstand it."

"Perhaps... It leaves you with that brick you told about. Unless you have other ideas."
11 Aug 2024, 11:12pm
"Hm. Maybe... but... not sure, if Azimuth use Cutters, though I guess it could pass as a trade ship. And I am not setting foot in that... shitty brick, called a Type 9."

Yet, that one seemed like the best option... even though I abhorred the thought of ever even owning one. Lakon's tragically bad attempt at turning the hull into a combat platform with the Type 10 only solidified that. Then it clicked - there was another option, one that I hadn't thought of because it was just sitting in the hangar gathering dust, for at least a year now. Probably longer.

"I might actually have something. Got an old Anaconda sitting in storage, which would pass off pretty well. Don't use it much now, because, you know, new pilot's thing. Everybody tells you to get one, 'it's a great ship'... all that. And it is, but you grow out of it quickly when you build your identity. Like that... Python. Anyway, yeah, it would do this perfectly, I think. If we're lucky, that Azimuth transport is one, too."

Then I remembered, or more accurately, realized I hadn't used it in about a year.

"... I am also going to have to get a big seat put into it."
