Prototypes EndJust a quick question for anyone who's got a second to reply. I've recently started upgrading my ship through engineers and I've put effiency on my multi-cannons. I've also gotten lucky and have gotten corrosive shells as an experimental effect on them. Let's say I die, while I lose my experimental effects, in this case the corrosive shells, when I rebuy my ship?
No, you keep your gear when you rebuy your ship.

How about if I change ships, for example I switch to my asp explorer, and then a couple hours later back to my anaconda that has the experimental effects. Will the anaconda still have them then too? Sorry if it's a dumb question. Still reletively new to the game.

Yep no loss, store them switch them all Mods stay unless you change them.

The special effect stays with the module, so you can transfer that module to another ship so long as the new ship can fit that class of module. If you transfer it and get blown up, you recover it when you rebuy.
The only ways to lose the modificatrion are 1. die and don't rebuy, 2. sell the modified module, 3. have it engineered again because re-engineering overrides existing modifications (they do not "stack"), and 4. "discard" the modification (I think you have this option when with the Engineer) to revert back to a stock module.

I'm pretty sure you the modules stay exactly as they are when you rebuy.

Abriel LafielWoo just did my first 5000 ly from start!
The distance quickly slips by as you wander from here to there. Just wait until you do your first trip to the core, or maybe a quick jaunt out to Colonia.

No you have a choice when rebuying to keep the modifications

Isaiah EvansonOr Beagle Point.
You'd be surprised at how relaxed you can be that far out.
If by "relaxed" you mean there are no edgy cod kids with corvettes trying to
interdict you just because you're in a python (and fail to read the friggin Elite tag),
then get all confused because it didn't work (obviously), then yea... i agree with
you... I could use a nice hot cup of "relaxed" just about now actually
Anyway, have a good one.

This. Although after a month in the black I'm ready for a bit of 'tense' tbh
