Orla was born deep within Federation space in Eta Cassiopeia. Growing up under a runaway capitalist regime of the Federation, she was disgusted by the corporatism over anything else. She moved from the Federation to Imperial space but similarly was repulsed by the Empire's legalised slavery and would leave for Alliance space and arrive in Leesti where she finally felt at home somewhere.
