Born to some former imperial refugees in the sol system, he and his family fled to the federation space when the empire came after his father a former empire top brass. His father was wanted for stealing blueprints on the empire's fleet ships such as the imperial eagle. He and his family fled to an independent system before finally settling in Melaie where his father now works with falcon delacy and on occasion works with lakon in an attempt to add his imperial knowledge to their ships. Ryo is now 31 and unlike his father wanted nothing to do with the empire and wasn't really into the federation either. Though the federation allowed him to join on an exploration contract at the age of 21, Ryo soon made a name for himself as an elite explorer and biologist studying both what he could of thargoids, the guardians, and any other planetary life he could.
