Roots

My ancestors, 49 generations ago, boarded the generation ship "Sirona" in 2097. Their destination was a double star system 71.92 light years from Earth, home to six terrestrial planets, one of which displayed signs of oxygen in its spectral line survey.

In 2457, sixteen generations later, the generation ship reached the system. The inhabitants voted to name the system "Vanir," after a group of Norse gods associated with health, fertility, wisdom, and foresight. The fifth planet, an Earth-like world with temperatures ranging from 167K to 313K and slightly higher gravity at a lower atmospheric pressure, similar to Earth at an altitude of 3,600m, was settled. In memory of the generation ship, the capital of Vanir A5 was named "Sirona."

Youth

33 generations later, in 3278, I was born in a small village called Svane, nestled among lush green hills and bisected by a river with crystal-clear water. My parents were middle-class; my mother worked for the Svane municipality and managed local events, while my father refined tungsten for military, industrial, and aerospace uses. From a young age, I was captivated by the stars and the spaceships landing and taking off in the capital, Sirona. The infinite expanses of space promised boundless freedom. After primary school, I specialized in astrophysics, exobiology, and aerospace engineering at a local institution. In 3293, during a research excursion in the wilderness of Vanir, I met my future first officer and partner.

A crashed Federation ship, a Python roughly 300 years old, equipped with an antiquated "Faraway Jump Drive," was our research subject. Although we could not recreate the quirium fuel without its formula, the technology fascinated us. During the excursion, I stumbled upon an abandoned but filled lunch box, and after waiting for its owner, I took it. The box belonged to my future partner, who caught me eating her lunch, resulting in a playful but intense encounter that led to a deep friendship, and later, partnership.

Career Beginnings

In 3303, at the age of 22, I enrolled in the space pilot school in Sirona. Three years later, the "Teaka Elite Altruists Bagging Cooperative" emerged, replacing the federal government and establishing a cooperative governance model that emphasized collective societal contribution.

On August 8, 3303, I graduated from pilot school with the rank of Commander. My first ship was a Sidewinder MkI. However, in June 3304, I resigned my pilot's license due to disagreements with the political alliances of Princess Aisling Duval. It wasn’t until August 16, 3305, after learning of the annulment of her controversial engagement, that I decided to return to spacefaring.

In 3307, a new planetary approach suite was launched but malfunctioned during installation on my Beluga, causing significant data loss and forcing me to restart my career. Despite this setback, my crew and I persevered, working to regain our notoriety through various jobs with the Stellanebula Project.

Financial Stability

Despite these challenges, my financial assets remained secure, thanks to the Bank of Zaonce, the most successful bank in the Milky Way, which also provides insurance for ships, modifications, and cargo.
