Born on Sol, Commander Zephod's father was an ace pilot in the Federal Navy. His father died while on a mission for the Federal Navy, and the Federation refused to provide any compensation to his family. Zephod grew up poor, constantly under the thumb of his corporate overlords, and grew disillusioned with the Federation and its system of governance. Seeking to finally break free from the Federation's hypercapitalist way of life, he got his pilot's license and began his career. The beginning of his career was rough, barely scraping by as a courier. Zephod was recruited into Legion LXVI, and his career took off.
