Mavis, kin of Malaita, was born in a remote northern colony on the outskirt moon of the old Achenar system in Imperial space.
The Maquisian people were a passivist coalition of independent colonists that formed a new order called the 'Maquis'. They did not follow the same ideology as the Imperials, and had left Achenar to establish a peaceful and democratic society with the goal of self sufficiency from any super power.

When Mavis was just an infant, the three mining colonies on the southern side of the moon were attacked by the Imperials in a powerplay move to gain strategic resource advantage in the area. Her mother was amongst the few who survived the genocide of their people; fleeing with Mavis in her arms to independent and free space. Many of the Maquis fled into hiding, some were captured by the Imperials and sold into slavery, while others like Mavis and her mother voiced their outcries against the actions of the Imperials from independent space.

By the time Mavis was young adult they had already established themselves as a skilled pilot working for hire jobs in the Sirius Corporation. Mavis had used the money and influence gained to establish a preliminary fleet of Maquis ships, and a new central headquarters rented from Ray Gateway in Diaguandri. Since, Mavis has rallied the Maquis people out of hidings, liberated those lost into slavery, and developed an economic and military presence for their people. Mavis has allied her people with the Vindicated Squadron of Aruru, and even legitimized their rank under the federal navy; ranking currently as Rear Admiral.
