The Maquis had formed ties with the Federal Navy as independent military contractors, preforming special operative work. With strong trusted ties, Mavis, The Maquis Fleet commander rose to the ranks of Rear Admiral. This Rank allowed the Maquis place a successfull bid to purchase a new Federal built Core Dynamics Corvette.

The Maquisian model of the Corvette has retro-fitted and re-engineering into a deadly vessel holding its own against any foe. A life long friendship with the Sirius Corporation allowed the Maquis to purchase Sirius model high capacity thermal cascade Pack Hound Missiles and upgraded Sirius heatsink launchers-- equipping two modules each on the Maquisian Corvette.
