Traveller's notes. Part 1. Those cool stars
29 Oct 2018Shnyrik
Well, I've started this expedition way back in September, and the initial idea was to go with The Gnosis to the Cone sector and later to the Formidine Rift. However things have changed dramatically several times since then. Still, I have some pics and stories to share On my way to The Gnosis (and I've decided to fly my beloved iClipper HMS Cicindela) I payed a visit to some close C stars.
In particular Y Canum Venaticorum
RY Draconis (hell, that took some jumponium)
HD 283350
I've also visited some nice volcanoes in HIP 15882 (the coords are in EDSM database, but still, this is body 2 A +37,9 +74,2)
and even stayed in this valley for a night.
And naturally I visited one of the nicest places in the Galaxy -- the Hades Edge (HD 49368). I've taken some pics there, honestly, but still the one taken during The Outer Rim expedition is the best. So here it is
That was not at all a straight flight but those giant stars are so cool (in all meanings ), that I just couldn't help.
Still, I was at The Gnosis in time and took part in the infamous incident (now I've got a badge he-he ).
It's strange, but I managed to survive. I think, it was the combination of speed and shutdown field neutraliser that allowed me to boost away safely in silent running mode. After the first wave of saucers was successfully repelled, I made this selfie
However the course of The Gnosis was changed and I decided to change mine.
One of the commanders reported a newly discovered glowing gas giant in the end of the Perseus Arm, so I decided to pay it a visit, then go through the Monoceros Passage right to the Rift and then (if it's possible) navigate through the Rift to Heart and Soul Nebulae. I thought I would catch The Gnosis somewhere there (that was a bit naive ).
