Dont judge a ship by its Model.

3306-02-19 Captain Aries "Reaper" Xevi -HJHF 1st Officers Log.Some time ago I purchase a Krit MK2 and Shortly after the Phantom didn't really plan on using them but I told myself early in my carrier I would one day own every ship there was. I know kinda ridiculous to have a bunch of ships you never use but hey a mans gotta have dreams. Anyways I decided today WTH let me just take her out and run her through the paces So I ran her around to about 5 different engineers in a relatively short time (glad I've bean hoarding Mats or this feat could have taken me weeks)
While Engineering I received a distress call from one of our Coalition factions Needing assistance expanding into a new system. Basically the story is they had been prepping this new system for expansion for a few weeks and we're ready to move, well at the last moment a little upstart faction runs in and snags the open slot from them so they needed to force this interloper into a retreat to reopen a spot for them.
Well by our Coalition Standards we are only required to respond to Aid requests if we are within 5 jumps from where the aid is needed (A rule I am proud to say I established within our little coalition) so I forwarded the request for aid into our communications server on Discord and although I about 15 Jumps out I said to myself, Self this is actually a good opportunity to see what this Krait can really do. So I set course to the target system to officially serve the eviction notice on behalf of our Ally. after all what kind of Captain would I be if I gave an operational order and didn't follow through myself, As I always tried to instruct Cadets when I taught combat maneuvers at the Imperial Academy "Always lead by example, don't expect your men to follow if orders that put them at risk if you're not willing to put yourself at risk."
Enroute to target system a Jr officer from My squadron contacted me. "Sir just received your orders what do we need to do?" he said, "Son did you bother to read the op orders or did you just see they were there?" I think I spelled out all mission objectives pretty plainly but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong." I replied being a little more agitated than I should have, I guess I have to remember that many of our squadron members come to us right from their training with the Pilots federation without any Academy training or Imperial navy experience. Not like in my day when you almost had to be attached to the Navy to survive like during the AI wars. Anyway, I digress. the pilot responds to me. Um yes, sir the orders are quite clear I was just being too lazy to read, Sorry Sir." "Don't be sorry, kid." I said {"just do what you need to correct the situation" "Yes Sir," came a very emphatic reply Setting course to target system now" I could tell he was relieved that I didn't rip him a new one as I have a tendency to do when pilots under my command get lazy as that laziness can cost lives.
Well, I got to the target system within a few moments of the Jr Officer and he was already en route to one of the CZ. one thing I can say about my men and women is none of them are afraid of a fight, matter of fact, we thrive on it. anyway, I glance at my Nav computer and see this pilot is making a beeline for a High-Intensity CZ and not even caring if he has back up or not.
Well shit, I thought Not exactly how I wanted to test this ship but what the hell, I sent out a wing request locked onto his bacon and followed him in,
As soon as I dropped in literally all hell broke loose, These interlopers weren't playing around and they were intent on making their enemy fight and crawl for every inch, I was actually impressed with their tenacity.
Anyway, this Krait that I had left to collect dust performed better than I could have imagined With 3 size 3 grade 5 beam lasers engineered for efficiency and thermal cascade and 2 pulse lasers size 2 grade 5 with efficiency and regen engineering, She was cutting through shields and armor even faster than my Anaconda does, Guess I might want to re-evaluate the loadout on my anaconda cause this Krait was defiantly not a crate The speed the maneuverability the sheer DPS I was like a kid in a candy store. anyway, we cleared 3 CZ like that and I literally didn't even get my paint scratched I couldn't believe it. Ok, that's an exaggeration I did have a small scratch by my Plazma manifold Some spec op got off a lucky shot with a missile that managed to cut through my shields One thing I complain about is the lack of ability to Adjust shield harmonics on the fly to minimize damage anyway all in all I like this Krait think Ill use her throughout the duration of this operation than take the opportunity to engineer and try out some of the other ships in my fleet that I just got because I wanted to but didn't want to use them for whatever biased reasons I have been using. Lesson learned don't judge a ship by its name.
