Traders Guide- 6 easy steps surviving The Code

First off let me say I am not a member of The Code nor a rep of their organization though I do have friends that fly with them and I thought Writing this may help those who encounter The Code to avoid unnecessary stress and get on their way in one piece (though your pride may be wounded)First off remember they are Pirates and while they do their thing in an Honorable fashion (yes even Pirates have honor) they are still Pirates.
1. Above all else stay calm, nothing says shoot me like an itchy trigger finger that accidentally deploys weapons If weapons are out before you realize you're Dealing with the code than retract them.
2 Read the messages in your comms panel from the code and comply with instructions. if you need a moment reply and let them know you are complying. If you have Point defenses I can promise you will be asked to disable them don't worry as long as your complying they won't shoot you.
3 whatever cargo they ask for abandon from your hold I have rarely seen a member of the code take a persons entire haul. I Would recommend only ejecting 5 units at a time from your cargo hold to avoid cargo bumping into each other and exploding it will just cost you more cargo if what you eject explodes the pirates told you how much of what they want and they expect to get that much
4 After you abandon your cargo wait for them to tell you that your free to leave (remember no matter how polite and cordial they are, their still pirates suddenly Charging your SC Drive may trigger a negative response. and they're not going to let you go on your merry way till they verify you gave them what they asked for.
5 don't linger when they tell you to go then go don't give them a reason to think your gonna fight
6 If you think you have a good enough reason for not handing over your cargo you may call for Parlay, and they will hear you out Just make sure its a Damn good reason, not just "this is my cargo, that's why" or even "I need this cargo for my mission" these are not valid reasons to be merciful they are Pirates and they already know your cargo might be part of a mission they don't care and why shouldn't they take your cargo? that's how they make their money.
Follow these steps and you will be released with everything but your cargo and pride intact, Of course, you could ignore these steps and try to fight for what's yours but I wouldn't recommend it The Code usually flies in wings and they are skilled PVP pilots whose ships are usually heavily engineered and it's unlikely you would survive the encounter if you did try to fight.
Good luck out there and remember
Thar Be Pirates.
