Plasma Donor

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks. Since taking a step back from Operation Ida, I've been focusing on bits of the galaxy that I've passed by. Primarily permits, I now only require permits for Jotun, Peregrina and CD-43 11917 - though that last one will require a CQC ranking - before I've earned every permit it's currently possible to earn.I've also been working on acquiring other things - at the moment, serving with Sirius Corp, though I don't intend to stay in service longer than is necessary to gain access to Packhound missiles.
I've also finally begun experimenting with Plasma Accelerators. After a brief spell testing an all-PA setup on a Vulture heavy fighter, I've changed the armament on Sloop-of-War to an all-Plasma Accelerator setup and it's working quite well. Small, nimble targets are harder than they used to be - three gimballed beam lasers would make quite short work of such small craft, even though lasers are not the most efficient for cracking hulls - but once I can get rounds on target 3 large and 2 medium PA hits deliver enough of a hit to the target to cripple almost any small vessel. Larger vessels withstand more hits, but they're that much easier to bring to bear that they don't normally survive even as long as the smaller ships. It seems that once I've finished with Packhounds and Prismatic Shield Generators I may have to work for Denton Patreus for a bit to gain access to Advanced Plasma Accelerators, if only to offset the ammunition issue - Sloop-of-War is carrying a special modification to her Plasma Accelerators to allow them to re-arm with fuel tank plasma as a result of the ferocious ammunition consumption of the Vulture Golden BB.
