- AUGUST 13, 3308, TSAVORITE, KELTIM – Octavia Gavrila reporting from Keltim Crystal Eye Journal on a protest taking place outside Keltim Empire League’s headquarters in Tsavorite. Given the recent events in HIP 22460 with the disastrous deployment of Salvation’s anti-Thargoid superweapon, many fear Keltim may soon incur the wrath of the Thargoids, which have historically oft attacked agriculturally focused systems like Keltim. However, the silence from the leaders regarding preventative measure in the Keltim Empire League, primarily that of league heading Patron, Kezika Turiel Wylair has been deafening, and people want answers.Of additional note is that Patron Wylair for most of the past three weeks was herself in HIP 22460, personally fighting for Salvation against the Thargoid under Pilot’s Federation callsign CMDR Kezika. However, within only a few hours prior to the deployment of the superweapon, she, along with her carrier “Kirkbride” reappeared in neighboring system Cama Zotz, a system also under control of Patron Wylair’s governmental subsidiary of C.E.A. Psychiatric Institutions Ltd. This timing has also raised some suspicions with some people.
As one protestor stated, who wished to remain anonymous, “Why would she spend three weeks there, and then suddenly flee just before the disaster, what did she know?”
It is not the first time that accusations of shadowy or questionable behaviour have been levied at Patron Wylair. In October 3307 she was one of the attendees of Joker’s Deck identified in the full report by Wallglass Investigations Agency. Roughly one year earlier, there was a scandal where it was revealed that her carrier, Kirkbride, had been servicing repairs to Eurybia Blue Mafia vessels while the same was at war with Keltim Empire League in the Eurybia system. Despite Blue Mafia winning that war, they began wrapping up all activity in Keltim and eventually ceased all activities in Keltim as a whole. With no apparent reason for their hasty exit, some accuse Patron Wylair of making some sort of under the table deal with them during the conflict.
Most recently of question was an instance where Patron Wylair made a rare orbital shuttle departure directly from Fire Opal Palace, and shortly thereafter had attacked and left a cargo vessel belonging to Umialittak Logistics wrecked over a mountain outside a tourist settlement in Buzhang Ku. Umialittak Logistics is a rival to Patron Wylair’s own antiquities business Wylair Heritage Resources, making the attack seem questionably motivated, as there was otherwise no bounty on the vessel. Patron Wylair continues to decline comments on the instance.
After returning to Cama Zotz, but shortly after the disaster of the superweapon, the Kirkbride, with Kezika aboard was recorded as traveling out to a system with a known Guardian site and then immediately to a system with a known Thargoid site and spending two days there before returning to Cama Zotz once again. While the flight itinerary is public record, the purpose of the trip is not. We wonder was Kezika at another Thargoid surface site, possibly with Guardian artefacts? Is she playing fast and loose with further enraging the already livid horde of Thargoids while her own home system is on the short list of potential targets?
“This all seems like impulsive and reckless shenanigans while she should be here assisting with preparation and fortifications as the system’s leader,” stated Wendel, one of the protesters.
However, at a small counterprotest nearby, one named Sukhon stated, “While she’s our leader, she is also a Pilot’s Federation CMDR, anti-xeno combatant, and known client of Ram Tah and Ishmael Palin, she may have been simply assisting in a research task for them.”
We reached out to Patron Wylair’s majordomo, Client Amaleigh Wessex for comment, to which she responded, “We assure Patron Wylair has the best interest of the system in mind, and our Thargoid attack contingencies are being drilled and reviewed as we speak by our experts on those fronts for utmost readiness”
However, when probed for further details about Patron Wylair’s reasons for departure just before the superweapon fired, we could glean no further information from Client Wessex.
When asked about the possibility that Patron Wylair was assisting Ram Tah or Ishmael Palin with research, Client Wessex confirmed that trips to Phoenix Base in Meene and Abel Laboratory in Arque were among her flight logs, but she is not at liberty to discuss the minutiae of these visits.
Patron Wylair could not be reached for comment.
