Into the dark I #4

Geology in the Sanguineous Rim

This is the fourth flight log on my first exploration test trip in my new Krait.

Having left the Orion Spur for the first time I decided to plot a route bringing me back onto the central plane of the galaxy for I was about 700 light years above (or below?).
I continued to follow scanning systems to find opportunities of interesting planets that needed mapping for the data base. A special focus was also on landable bodies with special signals.
Mainly geologilcal signals showed up on my scanners, unfortunately only those. However, my mining background also kicks in when there are geological discoveries to be made.

Apart from some nice geological phenomena I almost managed to get myself into trouble trying to land on a moon with a gravity of about 1.6g. The landing was rather harsh and I immediately noticed the shortfalls of learning to pilot by travelling between asteroid fields and space stations.

I managed to confirm some of the catalogued geological phenomena out here and that was a great experience. Although I did not find and biological or even xenological proof I believe that my next step of the voyage will lead me back into the direction towards the bubble. But I will plot a route through the California Nebula.
Before going out onto trips that are longer and further than this first one I would like to do some further engineering improvements on my ship. And I miscalculated my use of coffee, which I will have to remember before the next long trip.
Do you like it?
