Racing the Nebulae

I left Star of India and was on my way to the next POI - Plaa Eurk DF-D c26-1 (Gigas) when a friend of mine called me from Gorgon Research Facility an Asteroid station in the NGC 7822 Nebula to go and give him a hand on something he was doing some research. This was going to be a very long voyage and definitely was out of my way, let alone the direction of the expedition I was doing.

To top it all, a colleague of his called me a couple of hours later and begged me to help them with this important and crucial investigation they were doing. Part of the research my friend talked to me about. He instructed me to go and collect a biological sample from a particular system near the Cave Sector Nebula. I wasn't so eager to travel such a long distance, however I decided to go ahead with the operation, as I felt obliged. In the old days, when I was still a student this particular friend of mine helped me with a particular project. He's a genius with Biochemistry.

I arrived at the system after a couple of jumps, twenty nine long jumps to be precise. I locked the planet target and started closing by. I checked all its planetary details and noticed it had a gravitational force of 4.6G. No wonder why no one really wanted to go and collect such samples. You need a lot of experience to handle a ship plummeting towards the ground. After a lot of thought I started descending at the exact gradient. Exiting the glide from supercruise and correct the angle was crucial. I immediately started to scan the ground for an indication of these biological signatures and detected the right spot to land. Wearing the highly customised Artemis suit to stand the gravitational force I made courage and managed to find and collect these samples.

From there I had some sleep and the next morning I started my journey towards the NGC 7822 Nebula. On my way there I visited a lot of systems that had other types and forms of these Biological signals. I know the Scientists at Vista Genomics pay good credits for them. After another break, I finally arrived to my destination. I've never reached this sector so it was just beautiful admiring this particular nebula with all of its 'O' type stars collection.

I finally reached Gorgon Research Facility and was greeted in. My friends took the liberty to issue a docking permission themselves. Although this is way beyond the Bubble, it's quite a busy station and seems you have to wait for pretty a good time in order to be accommodated with a dock to land.

I spent a couple of day with my friend in this system and had some time to explore the systems over there. One of the 'O' type system had three Black Holes and the views were simply stunning.

I also managed to locate some Biological signatures from nearby systems as well.

The next morning I got a call from my old friend. She was curious about my adventures and how I was getting along with this expedition. Little did she know that I deviated off coarse for quite a bit, so I decided it was time to get back on track and head to my original mission. I plotted a route to Plaa Eurk DF-D c26-1 (Gigas) and along the way I visited the Elephant's Trunk Nebula. I stayed at the Elephant's Trunk Mine asteroid station for a day and continued my journey.

I finally made it to destination where I met with all my new friends. This system has a gas giant with water based life in binary orbit with another gas giant has 4 gas giant moons, all with rings.

Tomorrow I'll start heading to WayPoint 1 - it's quite a long journey so I'm preparing my ship with all those extra necessities.
