Journey Back
We have performed thousands of hyperspace jumps, scanned loads of planets ad landed on some of the weirdest ones, captured million of photos and scanned millions of Biologicals. We have reached the galactic rim of our galaxy and looked at the distant Andromeda galaxy currently unreachable. The astronomers say it has more than double the stars of our galaxy. It might have other types of alien life. It might have trillion upon trillion of planets to scan and land on. We'll never know, unless technology advances.
We spent quite some time at Cygni X-3. There were a couple of shuttle services to visit this system from Byaa Thoi GC-D d12-0 (Star One). Since the next Waypoint was not officially known, we decided to perform a mass jump to the nearest system. Later on the next day, Waypoint 12 was revealed and everyone started preparing to the intrigue voyage across the scarce stars to jump to, until we reached the safe zone to continue our way to the next POI and waypoint
It was time for me to start my voyage to the next Waypoint. I was still in my Anaconda - Apollo. It offered a jump range of 84Ly, ideal for the region we were. The lack of stars posed quite a challenge for those who had less jump range, and often the need to jumponium materials was necessary. I set the route to Cyuefoo LC-D d12-0 (Manifest Destiny - The Western Meridian) - Named after the driving mentality behind Western expansion in 19th century North America, Manifest Destiny Beacon is the furthest reachable system bordering the Western meridian line from Sol. Should FSD technology ever allow it, Manifest Destiny Beacon may one day live up to its name as a launch point to the Andromeda Galaxy. Due to its location on the fringes of the Milky Way a ship with a high jump range is required to traverse the sparse stars; additionally the final jump to this system requires a jump of 106.2ly making it extremely difficult to reach.
I continued my way to the nest POI, Cyuefai BC-D d12-4 (Westpoint Ormand) - Sitting on the far edge of the New Outer Arm, this system is located almost exactly on the western meridian from Sol. This was roughly 3kLy away from my position, so the voyage was quite a long one. Whenever I found a system with atmospheric land-able planets I collected Biological samples as well.
While I was jumping I noticed I was 640Ly away from the TFC Candle in the Void carrier. I redirected my route to get boarded and swap my Anaconda with my all favourite ship, the Krait Phantom. The later was my preferred ship for landing onto planets and scan biologicals. I resupplied with all the necessary goods and continued my way to the POI, gathering samples on my way there.
After a couple of more jumps I had finally arrived to my destination. I took a small break to relax a bit and gain energy. Checked for any messages while I was having breakfast and found a message from one of the scientists at the Vista Genomics. He sent it a couple of days back, however it wasn't a high priority one. He was looking at my progress and noticed that I had nearly discovered all the unique species that have to do with exobiology. Only two remained and these were Bacterium Nebulus and Bacterium Scopulum. He was trilled to send me the locations of these two Bacterium variants and was looking forward to get his hands on the samples. I checked the location of both samples. With ample of time and for the fact that I was well ahead of the other commanders, I decided to get these two samples.
I covered nearly 8kLy from the Waypoint I was suppose to go from the last POI. I was pleased to have gathered all Exobiology species that have been discovered so far. I started my journey straight to Waypoint 11 - Cyuefai RP-K b49-0 (Deuteros). Until the discovery of "Westpoint Ormand", this system served as a beacon system 30,000 LYs from Sol along the Western '0' Meridian.
I discover a lot of previously untouched systems and some of them stand out with certain features. I always take some time to admire the beauty such systems can offer. Having the controls of the remote camera snapping pictures on one hand a a beer on the other, the possibilities to take pictures are endless.
I was in the vicinity of my destination. I was getting tired and needed some good rest when I jumped to a system with the following views. This ringed planet was orbiting near the main star and the views were simply intoxicating.
Finally made it to the waypoint. Most of the commanders had arrived. Had a long sleep and afterwards dropped to the bar on the carrier for a couple of drinks and a snack. Waypoint 12 was shortly announced as well and that means we have to travel an astonishing distance of 12kLy. Already got some plans to visit nearby POIs that will further increase the distance. Until the next one - o7 CMDRs
